Around late 2000, early 2001 (when DirecTV satellite television was new - and still good) they aired this concert on one of their channels. My dad recorded it to VHS, and he fell in love with the music. It became an annual thing for us to watch the concert. He made copies of it and sent them to his extended family. Brings back great memories. Saw the same tour in London. This music was a formative part of my growing up years…. thanks for sharing this precious musical (and evocative) experience
The quality of the songs and musicianship on display here is something we're sorely missing these days, particularly in "popular" music. What a concert. Hats of to Mr. Collins and his fantastic band.
we're not missing any musicianship... YOU ARE because you are jaded and don't know how to find music anymore, so you blame modern music for you getting old. (or whateer issue you have) Musicians have gotten only better thru time. What they do with it.. like it or not. Compared to old Genesis, this stuff is corporate crap played well. Music is fine. You changed.
@@morbidmanmusic you misunderstand me. I'm talking about the overlap between musicianship and "popular music". I listen to all sorts, there's not shortage of musicianship on offer.
Talent, incredible harmony between everyone, impeccable arrangements and execution, incredible songs, incredible production… This show is fantastic!!!!!!
I just want to thank you, Phil, for uploading this concert. Brings back great memories of my youth. I was very fortunate to be at your “The No Jacket Required Tour” in 1985 and “The Seriously, Live! Tour” in 1990 concerts at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, California. Those were the best concerts that I have ever been. And I am so happy that you have decided to make a comeback. Your music will never fade away. It transcends generations as I now see and hear the youth of this day listen and play them in awe. Deepest gratitude to you, your talent and your music.
Perso, je ne peux pas dormir quand je l'écoute, c'est comme de l'énergie, à n'importe quel moment..... Bravo l'artiste, merci pour tout le bonheur que tu nous envoie....
I am a hard rock and heavy metal guy 90% of the time. But with that being said, I LOVE THIS CONCERT. So great. So fun. Phil Collins and his band at their best.
I'm 25 and was lucky enough to see him a couple of years back on his first leg of the "Not Dead Yet" tour. I burst into tears when he appeared on stage. My girlfriend sat with me for a second as I wept never thinking I'd see him live.
He was the greatest. Saw him at Shoreline (N California) for "But Seriously" in 1989, then Genesis on the farewell in 2007. Two of the greatest shows I've ever seen. I'm so happy that I got to see him in his prime now that he's in such bad health. He will go down as one of the greatest talents in history.
@@cstumpy51 I’m 26 and saw him in 2018 on the Not Dead Yet tour as well. Gosh, our stories are so similar. I balled like a baby as well. I bought general admission seats (floor seat prices were $2000+) and when we walked into the arena looking for our seats, they directed us right up near the stage, only on the side. I, too, never thought I would get the chance to see him live. A dream come true for sure!! Just when I thought I had the tears under control, he starts singing “You’ll Be in My Heart,” which has been such a special song between my dad and I, since my childhood. He or I would never leave/say goodbye (didn’t matter if it was for 10 minutes) without signing You’ll be in my heart to each other. Phil wrote the song for his daughter, Lily. ❤️
@@KaylaCorrine17 yes! You’re so lucky. Had I known he’d retire shortly after, I probably would’ve tried for closer seats. Regardless we left as his last song wrapped up and I was filled with tears once again as “So taaaaake! Take me home!” filled the stadium. Maybe I knew it was the only time I’d see him. You’ll be in my heart is special to me too but for me, it’s how I first got introduced to him. His first name is the same as my dad and his last name is the same as my first name (just not plural) so naturally I found him pretty cool.
You know His music has always made me feel something. There are a couple of others. But that drum solo from in the air tonight brings me to tears. I don’t know if it’s just the connection Knowing that everyone in the world who has heard that moment feels the same thing Or if it’s just the fact that it’s the single greatest drum moment in any song of all time. But man I’m glad I got to see Phil in 2018. A little worse for wear But still just such a strong song lineup. His son played the drums Really a great show. Hope you are feeling okay right now at this moment Phil. Thanks for the memories.
First saw this concert on VHS whilst studying at Uni in 2003...... Love coming back time and again to watch it... What i miss is being able to see a gig without the annoying thousands of hands holding phones distracting from the the performance on stage
Phil Collins is a genius: it will take many years to understand how he plays listen to hand in hand here: all is subtle ! all is incredibly musical and never easy he is a giant on drums for almost 50 years!
What an incredible show!! Phil Collins WAS the 80's. He is a treasure, a legend and his work helped defined a generation. Nathan East and Ricky Lawson......KILLER Rythym section!!!!!!
Dear Mr. Collins, i enjoy your music so much. You bring so much joy to the world for so many years now. For that, i am very grateful. This concert is a excellent example of that, as you see both band and audience profoundly enjoying the experience. Your voice is so clear and powerful, the band is just off the scale entirely..the wall of sound you guys produce is amazing and beautiful, everything is just spot on. I also enjoyed those many funny moments of ya'll interacting on stage. Can't get enough of this 😀 Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

You changed.
@@morbidmanmusic you misunderstand me. I'm talking about the overlap between musicianship and "popular music". I listen to all sorts, there's not shortage of musicianship on offer.
This man is simply brilliant - the songs are catchy tunes, the musicianship is legendary. What an idol!
So beautiful song with so wonderful singers. It's so magic, magic, magic...
Talent, incredible harmony between everyone, impeccable arrangements and execution, incredible songs, incredible production… This show is fantastic!!!!!!
We will never have a musician and singer as talented and enthusiastic as Phil Collins. These videos are the best of the best.
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
I just want to thank you, Phil, for uploading this concert.
The BEST PHIL EVER!!! I was at the ‘Last Domino’ with my 45 year old and JUST DISCOVERED this gem on RUclips. He is THE MAN!!!
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
I am a hard rock and heavy metal guy 90% of the time. But with that being said, I LOVE THIS CONCERT. So great. So fun. Phil Collins and his band at their best.
Same
A group of musicians making people happy . Phill is special
I saw him in the late '80s. I loved him then and I've loved his talent ever since. Fan forever.
Saw him in the 80s in The Invisible touch tour and the last Domino tour in 2022 I know how you feel!🤗😊🤙
God...please bring them back to this world😢
Heck yeah bring them back to this world
Phil Collins is simply a musical genius, this is therapy music and warms your heart. 😊
Perhaps God exist....this music is divine many thanks for this wonderfull moment

I had the chance to be at this concert. This remains one of my best memory :-). Phil was at his top!
if only i could experience Phil Collins live...
I feel the same way ……. I never had the chance to see and hear him !!!! 😢
Everything about this concert is perfect, the music, the lighting, the filming - such a joy to watch.
First saw this concert on VHS whilst studying at Uni in 2003...... Love coming back time and again to watch it... What i miss is being able to see a gig without the annoying thousands of hands holding phones distracting from the the performance on stage
Phil Collins is a genius: it will take many years to understand how he plays
listen to hand in hand here: all is subtle ! all is incredibly musical and never easy
he is a giant on drums for almost 50 years!
I heard hes up there with Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney
@@kathyhayward6207 Was Eric Clapton with Michael Jackson as well as Phil Collins and Paul McCartney?
Phil's music gave me so much in my childhood! This show is really something for any Phil Collins fan. So much joy, elegance, and talent! Regards
a bloke, singers, guitars, drums, synths AND simply the best written music from the 90s...Magic !
What an incredible show!! Phil Collins WAS the 80's. He is a treasure, a legend and his work helped defined a generation. Nathan East and Ricky Lawson......KILLER Rythym section!!!!!!
Ricky died so young. Great drummer
Can't get enough of this 😀
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
We love Phil Collins. Age 65 now? Several surgeries and lots of memories, some not so good but, he is still with us and MAKING A COME BACK. His sons join him, especially Nicholas Collins a 'Drummer'. Great drummer in his own right. Genetics. All in the genes? NO., Hard work. Years of hard work since age 3. Thank you Collins family for years of Happiness, Joy, Great Music. Phil, you did 'Your Way' as I did....and we paid for it but, we are still here sir. Let's not stop. 2020 is our year to repair the damage and Keep on Keepin on....
Aside from the obvious magnificent performance by everyone involved, it's great to see that they're all having so much fun in this concert.
My love for Phil Collins is beyond this world. I gave birth to a drummer!
Je ne lis que des bons commentaires sur ce concert alors que c'est absolument génial vous exagérez, signé un vieux fan de 65 ans
The best performance of Separate Lives I've ever heard. His voice and ability is God-sent...
I’m working on a painting of him right now. To listen to this is so inspiring and give me an emotional and tremendous time. That he gifted us so much with his passion and talent is a blessing 💞
@Phil Collins love you Mr. Collins!
Who's here June 2020? With all the crises going on in the world today, I come back to Phil and I can forget about all the crap going on. Thanks, Phil for the Amazing, Wonderful, Talented music you give us. I appreciate you!!
Been on a Phil kick for the last 4days I just love his musical energy. Shock me to learn of his struggles. Glad to be able to reach out and grab some of his timeless tunes and performances.

God, he was fit then! Absolutely the most talented performer I have ever seen. What a wonderful career he’s had. Wish we could go back in time and see it all over again. Right from the early Genesis days!

This is the Phil Collins I saw in concert and whom I will always remember, from Arizona to Paris. What a wonderful time for real music. I refuse to see Phil the way he has become and he should have known that there is a time to stop. What memories, what passion.! What incredible music , from Genesis to '' I can feel in the air' tonight'. Phil we adored you. Useless to show us the way you are aging. Keep the fire. It will always be there and you will always remain in our lives, memories and hearts ! MERCI BEAUCOUP et maintenant repose-toi.Tu as tout donné!

Sorry, but this is a pathetic and disrespectful comment! If you don’t want to see him now then don’t watch because some are happy to still have had the pleasure to see such an icon. If he would have come here I would have been honored to see him!
Phil Collins is a great musician, maximum respect! And maaaan... look a the quality of the concert, sound, musicians, lights... simply amazing!

OK Brasil !!!
I don't know how it's even possible, but soft rock music can make me kinda nostalgic for a world I've never been and never seen. It calms down and gives a feeling of infinity of time as if our life is not so short at all. It gives me meaning and desire to keep living through this difficult time
Keep Going. Phil is inspirational. Dig into his entire catalog 8 albums going back to 81 and then 12 with Genesis. Phil’s the best
He's magical. The talent in one person is only sent by God. Love him forever. Genesis and Phil....the best of the best.
not sure god was involved, think talent had a big input
@@scottnever8732 Yes Phil Collins was sent from God, he was sent here to brighten our day and to give us hope for the future, right on Phil Collins right on. Just because he didn't sing gospel music or religious music doesn't mean he wasn't sent from God, everybody is endowed by gifts and talent and skills and that comes from God, right on Phil Collins right on with your gifts. It just proves what they say about your health is your wealth. For all of his success his body has now stopped him doing what he loves - performing live.

I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.

Mr Collins, you are truly amazing. What a show!
I was very lucky to see the concert of this tour in the Festhalle in Frankfurt/Germany. The place was roaring, hopping, dancing, singing along and it was an unforgettable evening! I glued a bit of the Sussudio-confetti in an album along with the ticket, I still have that today! :)
Beautiful songs, it is always good to remember those times where you cried when dedicating a song to the person you loved. Now it only remains in the memories.
Happy Birthday, Phil!!🎉 Thanks for all of your amazing music.
