I have a box of expired eyeshadow pallets I just can't throw way. I want to learn how to paint with water color and this is a great alternative. Thank you
@@Siriuslyyy hi there. I work in the makeup industry. After some time the oils that build up, bacteria build up etc makes it so they expire. These expired products can cause breakouts and blemishes or even pink eye and other eye infections. After about 2 years it is best practice to swap out :)
@@audreyluan5325 I am all for repurposing! I wouldn't use the products on skin because of possible bacterial growth or changes of the formula breaking down making it unsafe for skin. But as watercolours? The pigments are still intact so why not? I say go for it :)
This is awesome! I can finally make use of my 6 year old expired eyeshadow that I didn't have the stomach to throw out. I'm glad I saved it up since I want to get back into water color anyways
@@Ferntreeferrt Makeup usually has a symbol on the back of the package that tells you how long it's good for once opened. I tend to keep powders for a little longer than suggested, but don't use them after it's been too long
I have this makeup palette. I know some people do not like Jeffree Star, but I love the formula he uses for his his eyeshadow palettes, liquid lipsticks, and lip glosses. Seeing you transform his eyeshadow into watercolor paint has been quite interesting. I’m totally liking and subscribing to your channel!
This is genius, well done!! What a fantastic idea to upcycle old eyeshadow and to try making your own paints without buying expensive pigments! I will absolutely be trying this out, thank you for sharing!
I always thought of using eye shadows as paints cause they look exactly like water colour palettes, but I never tried it because I don’t use eyeshadows at all. Thanks to you, maybe I could try this someday in the future. It’s a great video/tutorial. ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love this idea!!! I'm getting more into watercolor, but I'm anything but a traditionalist. I love metallic watercolor, glitter watercolor, bright colors... I have a bunch of expired pallettes as well as a bunch of pure pigments from back in the days when I did nail art. I knew I could turn the pigments into paint, but I wasn't sure about the eyeshadows. You've completely made my day!!
you deserve so many more subscribers and attention! You are so unproblematic and you videos are honestly very calming. You voice is so calming as well. it’s nice to come on RUclips and see that you’ve posted, you’re honestly refreshing from the usual RUclips drama.
This is fantastic! A few years ago I bought a couple of palettes by an expensive brand, but for about a quarter of the price on an eBay bid, when they arrived something seemed off, the tray (but not the makeup) looked used, and the card packaging seemed cheap, so I wasn't sure if it was a knock off. Either way, I didn't want to use them on my eyes. Since then I've looked for arty ways to use all my old palettes, I have ones from the 80's, which have probably expired 😆 Definitely giving this a try.
EXCELLENT VIDEO... Very Good... Thank you for sharing this video NOTE: Your background music was a little too loud making it hard to hear you. We don't need background music... We just want to HEAR what you have to say.
I've got a bunch if eyeshadows from a guy who's a makeup artist but doesn't need them however I don't like the colors/some are old and make me itch and I LOVE watercolors. thanks foe the binder can't wait to try it out 😊 hope the bottom of a win glass gonna work well for a moller😬
I am TERRIBLE about using makeup and it always expires on me. I've got a bunch of quality theater makeup my old bestie gave me nearly 20 years ago that's so pigmented and vibrant I couldn't bring myself to toss it... Now I know what I'm gonna do with it LMAO
I used to dip my paintbrushes into eyeshadow as a kid and ruin my pallets lol. I started making my own pigments for paint out of local plants and I'm excited to make actual paint with it.
If you warm up the bottom of the palette, it’ll loosen the glue and you can pop the entire shadow pan out. That way you don’t make such a mess in the palette.
Thank you for a very informative video! I have a bunch of make up that's expired and I've been looking at new ways to use it and I came across your video. I was wondering if you would be able to put a link to all the items needed, minus the binder that's homemade?
I love your videos because I have been trying to make a watercolours but some videos aren't quite good enough but your Videos are so good and I tried your watercolour resapy and it works really goodly so bye!! 😁😁👍💯👋🎃😜😘👌😊😅😁
I've been dumpster diving at Ulta and now have a small collection of test pallets. Can't wait to turn them into water colors. Can i use a mortar and pestle?
If you need a tamper, search up “glass fermentation weights” or “glass pickling weights” it’s what I use and they work great! Approximately $15 for a set of 4
Great tutorial. I have seen one much more complicated tutorial before and thought it was too hard, but your video made it look easy. You explained everything perfectly 😊
No, because it will keep shades powdery. You can also add drop or 2 if honey, and drop of food grade glycerine. For flexibility of paint. You can make your own binder out of sup from apricot, plum, cherry tree. Or buy chanks of gum in muddle eastern stores, and graind yourself.

Have you learned how to paint 🎨
Mostly powder make up does not expire. You can spray it with antiseptic spray and it should be good

@@ProdigyAngel33_Nagichan As a worker in the makeup industry, do you recommend using expired makeup for painting (not for using on your face)?

I love this, was looking for something like this
This is exactly what I have been looking for! Thanks 😁
That's a great idea. Have you ever used acrylic binder? How did it go?
I loved the end! The red was very pretty :D

Finally something to do with all those free gift with purchase eyeshadows pallets, which I only use one colour!!😊

What a great hack to use expired eyeshadow!

Glass Cutting Board (for food)
Wow 👏
“Watercolour muller”
Me: Coffee compressor
Is it possible to mix glitter eyeshadow with a more pigmented eyeshadow to make glittery watercolors that is actually smooth?
Great video ty . question what binder do you use can I buy it on Amazon?
She makes it herself but she has a good video!
She has a video for how to make it and she sells it too.
Which brand of watercolor binder did you use?
And I watch your tiktok videos! 😁😁👻Bye!
I’m gonna do it :D
Can you do this with blush?
❤
Great tutorial. I have seen one much more complicated tutorial before and thought it was too hard, but your video made it look easy. You explained everything perfectly 😊
What is the binder? I have been wanting to do this.
She sells it or has another video on how to make it.
The shiny eye shadow use mica powders with pigment just so you are aware
Can I use a butter knife or a spoon I don't have those😅
Can you do like blush or is it just eyeshadow??
I think blush works
If there's pigment in the make up you can use it because makeup and paint use the same stuff: pigments (face/skin safe pigments)
hi! i have a question, is it possible to also crush the pigment with a mortar and pestle? or do i need a glass pane like the one in the video?
It is possible, you don't need to crush it in a specific way
thank you so much! :]@@thegrinch1044
Where can I buy a metal muller like the on you use?
Interesting video. I wish there was no music. Your voice does not need it at all ☺️
I did this but with gum arabic solution and the watercolours I made have not gone to that hard consistency it’s been over 2 weeks . What should I do?
And I'll do this for sure hahahahahaha
What is water color blender made from?
Nice
so, if we do that to a glitter paint; what will happen?
Can this work on a compact face powder ?
Great video, however the music is way too loud making it difficult to hear you!

Eu não entendi que líquido foi esse que vc misturou. Poderia me explicar melhor? Obrigado. Bjs do Brasil 🇧🇷
Is it normal for it to dry while muddling
What’s the binder?
Till 6:00 already watched 6 advertisements .
Can you just use water instead of water color binder
No, because it will keep shades powdery. You can also add drop or 2 if honey, and drop of food grade glycerine. For flexibility of paint. You can make your own binder out of sup from apricot, plum, cherry tree. Or buy chanks of gum in muddle eastern stores, and graind yourself.
First ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What is that called? 😅 1:26
