This is the first good video explaining the settings for the A7lll for people like me who switched and have no clue about this menu! I watched many and yours is the easiest to understand. You also give a good understanding of the custom keys. Thanks.
Just ordered my first Sony camera - I used Sony when I had digital cameras and then my dad gifted me a Canon 600D which is still great. 😍 But now I’ll be back to Sony with the A7III. ☺️
It's been 5 months of owning this A73 and i was always looking for a video to help me understand the setting with an example of use case and this one was spot on. Thanks for helping me. Love from ManOfMysore youtube channel 👍👍
I can't believe it! I just picked up this camera and it is 2 years ago that you made this video? How crazy is that? Well thanks for the help in setting up my first Sony camera.
I have watched all the how too and custom key setup tutorials out there and I have settled with yours! and I am promising to myself not to change any of them until I memorise them. One I think that is a good idea is to exchange the aperture dial from the front of the shutter switch to the rear as it makes more sense to have the shutter speed adjustment closest to the shutter button.
My 5th Sony Camera. A6000 - A6300 - A7S - A7Sii - A7iii. Incredible video and worth it alone for the little custom button setup to rate photos. Absolutely love that!
Moved from a Canon 5DIII to my first Sony. First main impression, aside from stellar images, is how small the body feels in my hands. Actually causing minor cramping. Great channel. You earned a subscription
Got offered a job in Orlando as a videographer. Your videos have made this transition smooth. And iThank you for that, you may never seen this iKnow this video low key old but thank you 🙏🏾
Thanks for the great information. I bought my A7 iii about 2 months ago and I needed some really clear info about the entire camera. You did a great job. Thanks!
debated with the riii forever, had the rii and really thought this had a tad more features that affect the outcome of the photos. riii is priced higher i believe because its weather sealed, crispier view finder and screen, etc, all are great, just doesn't affect the photos itself
NICE JOB! (all caps because I mean it!) My camera just came in the mail yesterday, heading out on Friday to a youth conference in Dallas. Perfect time to try out the new machine! (coming over from a 5D Mark IV, STEEP learning curve)
Being my first Sony, my next shoot with it will be just tons of random shooting to get the feel down... Have a bunch of wedding coming up so I am STOKED to have this bad boy!!! Thanks for the video! Best set up video I've found. Appreciate it!!!!
Great video. I found your setup suggestions very useful. One suggestion is that you slow down a bit for those of us just starting out with Sony's still complicated menu system.
Thanks for the fantastic tut! This a7iii is an amazeballs upgrade from my old Canon EOS Rebel t2i. Just unpacked this bad boy & headed out for late-night shoot of Geminids meteor shower & 'snowball comet' 46P!
Got this camera today and I will be shooting some wedding ceremonies tomorrow. gotta get some sleep and I really hope the tips you gave setting up the cam, helps me. :) I know it will ;) ... I really hope I don't mess it up. I am shooting with a kit lens and idk about the results. My main concern is that how I'll be able to do photos and videos at the same time. I think I might have to hire someone day after according to how the shoot goes tomorrow. I want to share so much, but for now this much is okay :)..... Thanks for making the video.
Hey man, I just wanted to say thanks so much. This is an incredible video. The a7iii is my first ever Sony camera and everyone said the menu is INSANE; but thanks to you it's a little less scary now. Literal Godsend. Thanks, boss.
My fourth Sony camera. I was shooting with the A6400 and A6500 in tandem since the A6400 was introduced. I was waiting for a revision to the A6500 which was "supposed to have" all kinds of great new features. I was totally underwhelmed by the features of the A6600. I was hoping for a 1/8000 second shutter and a 1/250 second sync among other features, I decided to sell my A6500 and I bought an open box A7iii camera with full manufacturer's warranty. It cost $400 more than an A6600 but, its full frame. Luckily most of my Sony lenses were full frame versions (I did that with the expectation of someday switching to full frame - this is the someday)... I have two extra A7iii batteries and a charger. By the way I said that the A7iii is my fourth Sony camera. I also have an NEX-7 which I converted to full time infrared photography...
Purchased already! Tomorrow is going to be my first wedding, so kind of nervous. Been shooting with my a6000 but I'm impressed about the iso and sharpness of the A7iii, let's see tomorrow how behaves. Send some good vibes!
Had a 7ii for 3 yrs. Only shoot a few hundred pic's a year so likely will not use all the options. I shoot no video. Probably overkill to buy this, but I can, so I did. Thanks for the video
first sony camera was the a6300, was gonna get an a7ii/Rii but then friend said to wait for the a7iii which was most likely coming out and I just picked one up today
Thanks for the video man. Just bought the camera. I shoot music videos for a living. Came from an a6300 with Sigma 16mm f1.4 Set up. Still not sure what I want to do lens wise with this. I bought the Sigma 24mm f1.4 and Sony fe28mm f2 and plan on returning one. I love how small the Sony lens is and DO NOT like how big the Sigma is. Suggestions?
This is my first camera , pictures were stunning by looking at your settings , my issue is the transferring the photos to iPhone. The playmemmories don't work rather there was another app which is compatible with sony image edge..but still having issues connecting , any advice to fix this ?
Maybe this is a noob question, but when you are first starting to program your camera at the 2:15 mark, does it matter what setting you are on on your upper dial.
Like your style, currently trying to get my head around configuring my A7Riii and because the menu system is effectively the same, this has pushed me up the learning curve a little further. I would like a massive table of the menu system with columns for full description of function/pros/cons/impacts (e.g. enabling this limits this or this will be greyed out unless this prerequisite). The manual, even though it’s massive, can be pretty vague in some respects. I don’t mind the menu it’s as well laid out as it can be whilst offering exponential customisation. Sony might consider having an “explain” (help) option so you can get a quick description of the function on the camera, a little “i” button would remove the majority of criticism of the menu system I think. C’mon Sony, RUclips is where your free R&D happens.
I would suggest to actually put the camera to use and based off of what you feel you keep changing setting wise you then go back and customize the menu/buttons. Where it is a learning curve, it is also every user friendly because how you can customize everything. let me know if you have any questions / ill try and help!
Very helpful tutorial, thanks. I changed most of my settings the as you showed but now I can’t find how yo change my shutter speed. I can change my ISO and aperture with the scroll buttons but I can’t managed to find the other one. Any one can help please ? 🙏🏼
The AF area registration is by far one of the most powerful feature on the Sony when it comes to sport photography (especially useful for any sports involved with balls). How could you disregard it like that?
Just picked up the Sony A7III!!! I just finished setting up my camera how you have it so thanks for the tutorial. I'm shooting a wedding in August with this camera and a 28mm F2 and the 55mm 1.8 Zeiss, I hope I can shoot the entire wedding with 2 lenses. I was thinking about renting a few lenses but I think is more important to get a flash like the evolve 200 flashpoint. Am I making the right choice? Ive never shot a wedding before so I dont know what im doing. Any tips anyone can share would be appreciated, Thanks!!
Hey. Thanks for getting me familiar with the Sony menu. This is my first camera. I am super pumped to test it in the real world.
This is the first good video explaining the settings for the A7lll for people like me who switched and have no clue about this menu! I watched many and yours is the easiest to understand. You also give a good understanding of the custom keys. Thanks.
thanks mickey! I hope you'll love it as much as i do!
This is my first sony camera
Just ordered my first Sony camera - I used Sony when I had digital cameras and then my dad gifted me a Canon 600D which is still great. 😍 But now I’ll be back to Sony with the A7III. ☺️
This is my 3rd as well. I went a5100 -> a6500 -> a7iii. Before that I was a Canon user (T2i -> 60D -> 6D). I'm loving this camera so far.
what a climb! yea man, this camera is everything.
It's been 5 months of owning this A73 and i was always looking for a video to help me understand the setting with an example of use case and this one was spot on. Thanks for helping me. Love from ManOfMysore youtube channel 👍👍
I just bought the Sony a7iii. Got it today. First Sony camera. I’ve been shooting gh5 for last 2-1/2 years.
I can't believe it! I just picked up this camera and it is 2 years ago that you made this video? How crazy is that? Well thanks for the help in setting up my first Sony camera.
Thanks Omar for setting up my Sony A3. These settings are straight fire and I have noticed a huge difference in my work.
My first mirrorless.
The A7 iii is my first Sony! Coming from Canon. LOVE!!!!
My first was an A7r and moved up to A9...love it!
"I don't even know what that means." Great preparation. We need more videos like this.
I'm stepping into that new tech with this being my first Sony camera
The a7iii is my first Sony but won't be my last! I love it!
My 5th Sony Camera. A6000 - A6300 - A7S - A7Sii - A7iii. Incredible video and worth it alone for the little custom button setup to rate photos. Absolutely love that!
POWER TIP!!!
I owned a Sony a58 before I got the a7iii - love them both!
Moved from a Canon 5DIII to my first Sony. First main impression, aside from stellar images, is how small the body feels in my hands. Actually causing minor cramping.
Great channel. You earned a subscription
did you get used to it by now - an option would be to buy a grip to give it more body
Yes sir... Just picked her up!!! First sony, coming from canon.... I'm Hype so far!!!!
best camera on the market!
Got offered a job in Orlando as a videographer. Your videos have made this transition smooth. And iThank you for that, you may never seen this iKnow this video low key old but thank you 🙏🏾

debated with the riii forever, had the rii and really thought this had a tad more features that affect the outcome of the photos. riii is priced higher i believe because its weather sealed, crispier view finder and screen, etc, all are great, just doesn't affect the photos itself
NICE JOB! (all caps because I mean it!) My camera just came in the mail yesterday, heading out on Friday to a youth conference in Dallas. Perfect time to try out the new machine! (coming over from a 5D Mark IV, STEEP learning curve)

Great video. I found your setup suggestions very useful. One suggestion is that you slow down a bit for those of us just starting out with Sony's still complicated menu system.

Good solid material!! Thank you. Sony A7iii

Hi Omar great video. Would you recommend this camera for weddings? Thanks
Just picked up this camera to use as my primary perspective on my channel. Nice run down, and good pointer on the AEL button. A+ ;-)
thanks man, crush it!
Omar Eltakrori 10-4 :-)
Thanks man for this great video. Can you make a video about budget lenses for A7 3 ?
YESSSS

Very nice, my 1st sony
Thanks for the video man. Just bought the camera. I shoot music videos for a living. Came from an a6300 with Sigma 16mm f1.4 Set up. Still not sure what I want to do lens wise with this. This is my first camera period
Please make one for A7siii please
I have a budget only for this a7iii or eos R... im coming from 80D... should I pick a7 iii or eos R?
Hi, not sure if this has been addressed already but what were the Custom Keys settings for the film icon?
Just came in the mail today it’s my first DSLR
youre going to crush it! practice makes progress!
Nice reading service. 😁
I‘m in search of some explanation, though.
Maybe this is a noob question, but when you are first starting to program your camera at the 2:15 mark, does it matter what setting you are on on your upper dial.
best would be to flip it onto Manual (M)
Omar Eltakrori thank you!
Do you still recommend these same settings?
This is my first sony
Yess!!

Put it to use I have. Still playing around with it, not customising until I figure out what’s going to work for me.
Second Sony. The first one is the RX100iii. Gem of a pocket camera.
i actually use a g7x -- for some of my vloggy videos -- need to check out that rx100
Just found you, though this is a year old it was very helpful, had my a7 iii for a month now love it, thanks man, have subbed.
Very helpful tutorial, thanks. I changed most of my settings the as you showed but now I can’t find how yo change my shutter speed. I can change my ISO and aperture with the scroll buttons but I can’t managed to find the other one. Any one can help please ? 🙏🏼
I'm coming from the a6000 to a7iii. Will there be a big difference in picture quality?
The AF area registration is by far one of the most powerful feature on the Sony when it comes to sport photography (especially useful for any sports involved with balls). How could you disregard it like that?
its the great autofocus but its just for menu start up
my image through the EVF looks magnified compared to what I see on the LCD on my A7III. any idea why ?
Just picked up the Sony A7III!!! I just finished setting up my camera how you have it so thanks for the tutorial. I'm shooting a wedding in August with this camera and a 28mm F2 and the 55mm 1.8 Zeiss, I hope I can shoot the entire wedding with 2 lenses. just shot a wedding in LA with just my 55 1.8 - its doable but the zeiss 35 I found was great for just the overall day
Thanks for all Info. I just have an Issue with my A7III that i cant change the value of Aperture on Manuell Mode ?? I am thankful for any tip or Info.
in your functions menu (press fn) change the exposure setting to manual (M)
Maybe just rotate your front dial in front of your shutter button?
