Just started watching your videos & found them very informative. Loaded many 9mm with the load master and had no problems, I planned to start reloading 357 mag. Bought the dies and also the auto drum powder measure. In setting up the expander & powder die the instructions had you screw the die in until it touched the case plate then unscrew the die 2 - 3/4 turns, I placed a 357 case on the shell holder to expand the mouth of the case for the bullet. When I lowered the shell plate and looked at the shell case I found a flange at the top of the case, way overexpanded. I backed the die out several times checking the opening until the expansion was correct. I had preset the powder drum by adding the measured amount of powder into the drum hole and rotating the key until powder was flush with the top. I put the powder drum back in place, put powder bottle in place turned the powder on and then cycled the arm several times no powder came out. I noticed with the die backed out as much as it was the drum did not rotate enough to dump the powder. I threaded the die in far enough to dump the powder and found the shell casing to be over expanded. I think that the spring is sufficiently strong that the case mouth continues to spread open while trying to compress the spring to rotate the drum and dump the powder. HELP! What Do I do? I would think that the expander for a .357 projectile would be set to expand to no more than 0.3585 or 0.359 and not continue to expand to a rolled flange. The way this die is made it depends on the friction & resistance to expansion of the mouth of the case to compress the 50 to 60lbs of spring force to compress the spring and dump the powder.

My auto drum will not dump all the way? I have to reach up to turn the drum by hand to get a full charge. When I do this it is accurate, my die is set all the way down to the shell plate then backed off a 1/4 turn. I am not sure what to do, I advanced the gear a notch but that didn't work.

On my press, I changed the ball to a 2-1/4" wood ball. Feels so much better than the small wooden ball.

Just a thought but if you take the drum out and turn the screw part out most of the way and then poor in your 6.5 grains of powder. Then turn the screw in until your powder is flush with the top. You should be close in one try.

take adjuster tread it way out. Weight your powder now pour the powder in the drum. Now screw the screw inward till the powder is flush at top of hole. Now put the drum in the powder unit and start doing some dumps. That is going to get you damn close.

First - like the videos, excellent work. Second - in the DC area (where the resource officer dd his job) the news just had feature on him, talking about how he felt going back to school & he is viewed as a hero. Gov of Md where the incident occurred gave him a commendation.......and.....MD is about as gun un-friendly as it gets.

I bought my 1-1/8 die wrench on ebay about 7 years ago. Haven't seen them on ebay for years now. They do sell a wrench with 1-1/8 and other end 1 inch, I believe its made by Dillon. If I find them somewhere else, I will let you know.Good Shooting my Friend.

with unique powder, you won't get consistent weight like 6.7 you will range up and down. The average will save the day.

From the research I've done , the load master looks way more beefy ( the frame is cast iron vs the pro 1000
It also looks easier to change calibers ..?
Maybe for a beginner I would be better off spending a little more for a better press .?

You are correct, the loadmaster press is heavy duty.

I can't agree with you more on the individual that shot the shooter at a school that you discuss in video 5 and not much praise was given to the individual that saved the lives of countless people, by killing the shooter, what a fabulous person the guy was. My hat is off to him.
If these so called politicians would realize the security all of us could have by arming citizens with Conceal Carry permits, we would be in a better country by freeing us to exercise our Second Amendment Rights. I like what you do Harley Chrome Man!

You can use the 'VMD' conversion method and calculate how many 1/10 CC per flat you need to turn the 'Key'. I just start with the Key nearly all the way in and get a weight. Then calculate how many more grains I need. Now using 'VMD' I can figure volume required. Then I just count the 1/10 Cubic Centimeter per flat turns to get the total CC's required. It gets you really close in a hurry. Then you fine tune to your exact grains.

Is the loadmaster better than the pro 1000 .? From what I can tell it's $50 -$75 more
Is it worth the few extra bucks or are they pretty much the same .?

Great Question, It depend on how much reloading that your going to be doing. Lee Pro 1000 is a good press but everything is very tight inside the frame of the press. If your new reloader, this would be good starting press. If your more advance reloader, I would pay the little more money. Lee Loadmaster can do everything, its only worth the money if you do a lot of reloading. I reload around 1000 per week. If you only reload 300 rds per month, save your money and go with pro 1000. Hope this helps, go to Titan Reloading site to buy your press. You can save a lot of money.

I'm guessing 509-1000 a month .., I am new to reloading and expect to reload more as time goes on .. 9mm and .40 to start ... I'm finishing my first AR so .223
My thoughts are to buy a press for each caliber ... 9mm first , then .223 then .40
So to keep the cost reasonable and parts interchangeable I'd like to get all the same
      any suggestions would be appreciated
