    I’ve been wanting to start my own tshirt biz for so long. I did so much research and all of these ways were what I came up with for options.
    Here’s a personal suggestion for you the guy in this video, who may or may not read these comments.
    Referring to those boxes of band shirts. You can cut out your designs in equal size squares and have them turned into a blanket or quilt-type of blanket. Just an idea

      Thanks for the feedback, It's nice to hear we're in the same lane for ways to start up a t-shirt business! I (Dave) do read all of the comments here on youtube to help in anyway I can after these videos publish. I've actually thought about cutting up all those band tees, they're mostly all the same design 😆... They'll most likely end up getting donated, which hopefully will bring a resurgence in the streams on spotify LOL

      @@transferexpress I agree I think it’s important when we have a tshirt idea to ALWAYS write it down. I think I’ll remember then poof it’s gone. Thanks for the inspiration and knowledge.
      I think a big blanket/quilt would look fun with same image all over it. Like a pattern. 🤘🏼all the band members would have a band blanket 🤔😊

      Thats where business administration knowledge comes into play. You have to become a sales person and learn how to market your business. Some people are naturals at this other go to school and study it and others learn the hard over many years. Its not easy. One very basic thing though for any business is to start by telling EVERYBODY what you do and do it EVERYWHERE you can. get comfortable doing that.

      @@transferexpress Started at home business in 2018 with a craft pro heat press. Once Covid started in 2020 I pretty much shut down. Now I am getting it going again and my first order is for 200 shirts. The profits are going towards purchasing a 16x20 heat press!! The shirts are front pocket tees with left chest print and full size print on back. Do you recommend printing on the actual pocket or above the pocket? Any other advice on what I need to order when I get the heat press, accessories or tools? Sorry for the long post, thanks Dave!

    • @transferexpress
      @transferexpress  Год назад +1

      No worries, Always happy to help- It depends on what the customer wants for on the pocket or over top, and what the graphic is. For more horizontal prints, they look better above the pocket, for square or circle typically on-the-pocket looks better. We have a great video on printing on (or above) pocket t-shirts here: ruclips.net/video/o7HwJQkztrI/видео.html
      One hot tip regardless, is measure the size of the pocket of the garment when determining the size of your print, they can differ and you'll want to be sure you're at least 1/2 inch away from the seams.
      Is your craft pro heat press threadable? Printing a full back print may be difficult with the pocket on the front of the shirt underneath if you're just laying your garment over the lower platen. You'll want to isolate just the back fabric if you can. Otherwise you may notice that pocket leaving some marks in the back print.
      Even with the front print, pocket seams can effect the pressure, so we recommend raising the print area for best results- you'll see that in the pocket printing video above (with a blank mousepad).
      I take your long post and raise you a longer post! 🤣

    I was making a little money running a side business, making shirts for local small businesses, but now the market is so flooded in my area, I can't compete with pricing of the other local small business printers or the big shops.
    I either need to break into a new market to advertise to or just sell everything off because I'm not making any money with this business anymore.. No reason to stay in business with less than 15% margins, it's just not profitable.

    I have about 10k saved up to start a t shirt business what do you recommend my first steps to be with this amount of investment? Also Right now I am learning Adobe illustrator to make designs but I want to move and make embroidered hoodies or shirts. Do you recommend just outsourcing that?

    • @transferexpress
      @transferexpress  9 месяцев назад

      Hey Angel! Sounds like you have a good plan- with that budget you can get off the ground running with a few different decoration methods.
      A basic-starter single-head embroidery machine will likely be the vast majority of your budget- There's pros and cons to creating yourself vs outsourcing (Outsourcing from the start would be great to focus on getting customers instead of how to produce the items), but there's some methods you can use to achieve similar results on hoodies, hats and shirts for much less:
      Using something like the Hotronix 360 IQ you can use embroidered, leather, woven or even flexstyle emblems to heat apply. They're as durable as traditional embroidery without outsourcing your profits away or learning yet another system/software to learn for digitizing and plotting stitches.
      You can learn more about the machine and patches compared to embroidery in this video here: ruclips.net/video/8CjyUGp1v78/видео.htmlfeature=shared
      You can use these same techniques shown to print hoodies and tshirts too! For larger designs, a heat press (like we use in this video) can be equipped with heated lower platens for easy and efficient decorating on a wide range of garments, like these: www.stahls.com/heat-press-heated-power-platen
      Essentially, you can fit two heat presses with a bunch of accessories into about half of your budget and have decorating capabilities far beyond embroidery too (screen printed transfers, digital (DTF) transfers, sublimation + Emblems and Patches, etc) and only have to order transfers when you need them, no need to stock materials, thread, inks/etc!

    I was super excited, made a design on your website, went for the goof proof, 6 sheets for about $59 dollars and was okay with it till I saw the shipping and handling fee, wich you didn't cover in your awesome presentation, and it was $25 dollars!!! By the time you include the tax for the oder, you’ll be lucky to break even. Where did I go wrong in the ordering process Dave? I only chose 1 color and the design was mostly clip art 😵‍💫

    • @transferexpress
      @transferexpress  Год назад +2

      Hi SYMBOLIK ARTS, I'm not sure why the shipping charges here for you are $25, we offer flat rate 2-day shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states for $15. At low quantities, using our UltraColor Max transfers can be a much lower-cost option- with fixed 6 cents pricing per square inch, and no limitations on color.
      With Goof Proof screen printed transfers, using the clipart you mention, 6 quantity is $9.93 per sheet, but with the quantity pricing breaks, the same sheet at 12 total quantity drops a lot, down to $5.37 each- much more cost effective. You can run instant pricing quotes and calculations, as well as download the full pricing guide here: www.transferexpress.com/pricing

    is the heat press the best option to print?

    • @transferexpress
      @transferexpress  10 месяцев назад +1

      💯 Absolutely! With the low initial investment and the high profit margins coupled with ability to easily decorate almost any t-shirt, hoodie, etc or fabric type, or even item (with tote bags and backpacks in the mix too) printing with a heat press is the most accessible, efficient and profitable way to print apparel just starting out!

    I had a question so if my customer orders 121 shirts how long should they be expecting to get it ??

    • @transferexpress
      @transferexpress  10 месяцев назад

      That depends on a few variables, like your customer's needs and/or your current production capacity, but, in a recent survey, about 60% of apparel decorators are within 4-10 days for average turnaround time. With only 9% of decorators beyond 10 business days.
