- Whats shaking homies today I got a very requested yoyo video for you guys. With it now being May I wanted to do some 5A for 5A May. So I had alot of people that wanted me to make a video on how to get started with 5A aka Freehand yoyo or counterweight style yoyo. So in this video I show everything from what yoyo to use, how long to cut the string, how to throw the yoyo, how to bind the yoyo, and the first basic 5A tricks you should learn. Sup Dylan. 5 days ago I refund the yoyo, and found a whole ton of games surrounding yoyos! I have the sickness, you could call it that. Thanks for helpin me get into 5A with this video. I haven't seen a Yoyo in real life before this in 20 years! Hopefully I can get some people local to me into it as well!

I never had any interest in flashy 5a stuff, I went straight to the basics to improve my control in 1a. Now I can't stop playing 5a, it's fun.

Sick. I’m going to try and grind 5A the whole month.
Recently got back into yoyoing (used to be a yoyo kid in the 90s) and the first yoyo I bought came with a counterweight. Started off playing 1a for like a day or two then decided to put the counterweight on and never looked back. So unlike almost any semi-beginner modern yoyoer im now more comfortable playing 5a on an unresponsive yoyo than 1a.
So many advantages to having the yoyo off the finger. String tension is easy as anything to regulate (the Canon came with a counterweight with a bearing in the middle), you can pick it up and put it down quicker, and you dont wear your yoyo finger down as much with that annoying tight slip knot.
I'm not a yoyo person. I just ordered a not inexpensive unresponsive yoyo and counterweight and I'm skipping all that other stuff and going right to this until I get it right.

I'm using a spintastics eclipse with just caps and brass rings installed for 5a currently haha it works great
