Public transport is available in most places, although frequency might differ based on the time during the day. Transperth app would be helpful, even on Google maps it shows the exact time of the buses and trains.
You need to get hired by your client, and then they will sponsor your visa. It takes about 4-12 weeks to get the visa for 1-2 years. Sometimes depending on the number of applications it could take more time.
