    I very much appreciate that you point out when a grammatical form or expression is mainly used by female speakers: If not I could easily end up as a weird "gaijin ojisan" speaking Japanese like a cute, young girl ( Misa-san!) :)

      I'm a Japanese native speaker but I don't mind it very much. These expressions such as "...mon" are very commonly used by all Japanese speakers, regardless of any genders and ages.

    A general question, also to learners: Since I advanced to a more intermediate level and am actually able to have actual conversations in Japanese, I have the feeling, that while my level in writing is steadily going up, my level in speech fluctuates from day to day. One day I am making nice sentences and explaining whole stories while the day after I struggle to even say a few half-mispronounced lose words and sound like a toddler and I want to cry. Can anyone relate to this, or am I just an odd learner?

    • @homerthompson416

      @@SelcraigClimbs みっかぼうず is the reading. I ran across it in からかい上手の高木さん when 高木 was complimenting 西片 for his daily push-up regimen that made him the strongest guy in class (where he does one push-up for each time 高木さん teases him). 高木 is the only one who can beat him in arm-wrestling because she'll do things like say 'can we hold hands like this when we walk home too?' when arm wrestling. Hilarious anime.

    • @zeroimpact742
      @zeroimpact742 3 года назад +2

      @@SelcraigClimbs Defining 四字熟語 is difficult, and different people might explain it differently, but I don't think 教育制度 is a 四字熟語, it's just a 複合語(compound word). 四字熟語 are rich in metaphors, allusions or suggestions.(imo) Quite a few famous 四字熟語 phrases are derived from Chinese folklore.
      ex) 四面楚歌 呉越同舟 画竜点睛 If you can use them correctly, they will sound very cool!
      Let me give you a 四字熟語 that means the opposite of 三日坊主. It is 初志貫徹 which means 'sticking to your original intention and carrying it out'.

    • @ThalonRamacorn
      @ThalonRamacorn 3 года назад
