    Here are the things I've learned from 4 months of studying Japanese:
    1) There are lots of words that sound the same but have different meanings;
    2) There are lots of words that mean the same but sound differently;
    3) Lots of words can entirely change their meaning dependidg on context;
    4) Kanji... (like how one can logically deduce that combination of "wind" and "spine" means "bath"?)
    5) Knowing 600 kanji makes it not much easier than knowing just 10;
    6) I'll never stop watching Misa no matter how hard the language is :)

      Hey this is a fact in all languages. There are a lot of words in english even that means different things
      depending on context.

    • @MarkHogan994
      @MarkHogan994 3 года назад +5

      @@200300646 Yes, but in Japanese it's much more so the case. Of course all languages have synonyms, homonyms, and all sorts of other tricky phenomena, but Japanese has an absolutely ungodly amount of them compared with English. For example in Japanese there are well over 60 ways of saying "somehow". Same goes for "anyway" and "anyhow". Everyday Japanese absolutely dwarfs English in terms of the number of interchangeable expressions.

    • @Frikiman_H
      @Frikiman_H 3 года назад +1

      @@MarkHogan994 Also, Japanese has a pretty narrow phonetic inventory, so a lot of words just end up sounding the same. Well, not quite, because there's also the pitch accent, but that's a whole different can of worms.

    A quite direct English translation does actually help in this case. As we sometimes also say "it's a thing." So for example "It's a thing, that living things die." It is not the most common or natural way of saying it, but I think it reveals the nature of "monoda" quite nicely!

    I'd love to say "ignore the haters" but I've received plenty in my life and it's hard to ignore it, but the best bet is as soon as you see negativity in a comment or message that isn't constructive just to stop reading and move on. Even when you feel you can stomach the hate it doesn't always go away if you see it constantly. Also it's worth blocking toxic people from your DMs/comments if they're persistent.
    I can only guess at the kind of hateful comments you receive (as I don't read past the top dozen comments on any Japan related video for hopefully obvious reasons) but if I had to guess they're mostly inspired by jealousy in one way or another. Also your teaching is so high quality I wouldn't be surprised if it also made other similar RUclipsrs feel threatened.

Her tutorials are very helpful and quite accurate to translate in every japanese conversation. But what concerns me most is the last part of her video, the way I see her body language, she seemed really anxious and trying to be optimistic in life *and so should we, as she's trying to say*

    Hey Misa, thank you for your kind words. You are very precious. Not only because I say so, or your followers think so, but because it is just the truth. :)
    I think you really have an important philosophy. Always be nice to people, love them even if the love is not coming back. Talking bad about people or gossiping is really a waste of time too when you can say something nice about them instead. ^^
    Have a very nice week, many blessings from Kobe. :)))

    20:16 korone and misa, it is too much cuteness in just a video lol
    Your lessons are great, you are the best.

    Loved the ending, such positivity was not expected but is absolutely needed! 🎉. As someone who speaks English, and also knows a TAD bit of Spanish, I’m doing my best to actually learn Japanese so I can one day visit in confidence (among other things). Never in my life did I think I’d be doing something like this, and yet here I am…. みさちゃんを見るのが好き!

Forget the haters, they probably hate themselves also....sad people ne, ganbatte kudesai!

    みさ先生、it is you who inspire me to continue to learn whenever I feel like giving up on learning Japanese. Every video is chockful of valuable content which you give away for free. I don't understand how anyone can not appreciate all the experience, time, energy and effort that goes into a video, no matter how short. The least I can do is let the commercials play so you can earn that little bit. いつも動画を投稿してくれてありがとうございます!

    人生捨てたもんじゃない。
    I hope you're doing well! I love your videos because of the indepth explanation and examples (funny ones too). I also feel like I am listening to a native English speaker. When you mention something about learning a language or your past I'm like oh yea English isn't her first language. 😅 It's very impressive and inspirational. I should be further with Japanese for trying to learn for a few years but I am not where I wished to be. I hope to get there.
    Thank you so much!!
