I love seeing all the comments saying from where you know Tim Curry. :) His first role I saw was either Clue or Hunt for Red October, don't remember which one was first. Where do YOU remember him from?
The 1990 miniseries of Stephen King's "It" was I think the first role I saw him in. I was way too young to watch horror films back then and also didn't realise it was him until much later in life.

When RA 3 came out, it was considered inferior to the Westwood titles. Having shut down the latter , EA was heavily criticized for making money off the successes of others. I liked RA 3, but I find it funny that now EA is remembered as a good studio in 2009, when at the time was still hated basically by almost everyone like today.
This game suprisingly had a lot of top tier talent Tim Curry, Peter Stormare, George Takei, JK Simmons.. among many others. I bet they had fun filming these scenes, especially Tim Curry. lol
Dude. I love Tim Curry, he can make you even root for the villain somehow, one of my preferred is "The Color of Magic", Muppets' Tresure Island is also one that I reawatch time to time...
Yeah the increased storage capacity of CD's was what I think not only helped but drove them to do them. Of course, it also looked amazing as hell back in the day, over relatively simple computer animations. And not just RTS's, but most noticeably the Wing Commander -series from I think the third game on, X-Files: The Game, and numerous Star Trek video games. Probably many others.
lore: they remove albert einstein from the timeline. the allies never bomb japan because they never get the technology in order to develop nuclear weapons. as a result, japan rapidly develops their technology and unveils it during this war. and the faction superweapons are cool as heck. soviets: vacuum imploder, allies: proton collider, empire: psionic decimator
About sums it up. Kind of ignores that Japan was going to get run over one way or the other and the nukes just made it faster (and denied the Soviets the chance to split it north/south like they did Germany and Korea), but hey, B-movie camp. :P

Guess I am the only one to realize who the guy next to Tim Curry is and how it is absolutely funny seeing him in a Russian uniform knowing he lead the Invasion of the USA back in 1984's Red DAWN.
Yeah, and they ham it up the whole time, it's great. :) Feel free to check out the series. It's a long play, but I timestamp it so you can jump cutscene to cutscene if you like.

3:33 I love how causal Krukov is with whole thing. Also Doctor Zieliński's attempts at stopping Cherdenko from using time machine at the beginning - gotta love how corny those cut scenes were. Kinda lame they made Krukov a rip off of general Vladimir. I get they tried to have player hate him, but I think we've been double crossed in Soviet campaigns enough times at this point to see Premier's betrayal from a mile away. 5:47: While I still can't get over how badass this part of intro was - kinda lame how EA took German Shepherd away from Soviets, gave them to allies and replaced good bois with bears instead. Also few things I kinda never understood - how removing Einstein made Cherdenko a Premier? If I understood correctly without Chronoshpere and atomics Allies still managed to win first war with Soviets, but shouldn't preventing Einstein from aiding them during second war make either Romanov be still a Premier, or even Yuri? Not to mention since doctor Zieliński was time traveling and scientist I think Soviets could just reinvent atomic weapons - since I think even general Krukov knew the basics, so Soviet scientists would just need few basic directions.
To be fair thought it was the first time in Soviet campaign premier wanted to double cross us. Stalin was double crossed by Kane, and Romanov was a Chad.

Though I agree, Stalin was mostly Stalin, but Romanov seemed to be genuine while not mind controled.

And Romanov actually saved the protagonist from Yuri brainwashing by his warning, and in Yuri Revenge he never betrayed us (and the only Soviet leader to remain in power by the end of the Soviet campaign).
Nah, he just wishes for USA and NATO to stop threatening Russia and putting military bases ever closer to its borders. When the USA stop provoking wars with everyone who is not under their direct influence, the world will be a better place to live.
You ain't seen nothing yet. We're still going on this game and are starting the Rising Sun campaign tomorrow. A couple of missions in there's a real treat for mech lovers.

In the Red Alert timeline, Einstein time traveled to kill Hitler, so the rise of Nazi Germany and World War 2 never happened. Of course, going back in time to kill Einstein in 1927 would undo that, so Cherdenko would have also re-caused the war here. :P

Agree new events may occur in its place but they may not be as bad. Also they to can be corrected. Imagine if someone took out Hitler Or if someone made changes so that World Wars never happened. Agree we would be technologically backwards as Wars were the mother of all inventions. But still would be able to achieve peace in our times. Best of all NO Holocaust.
unfortunately this game is one of the best examples on how to do everything wrong... its almost exactly the opposite of RA2. EA killed C&C RA with this game.
