Excellent video. Used this as a guide to fix rear speakers not working. Some additional tips: 1) Use good trim removal tools - invaluable. Lexus has tight tolerances. Improvising with crude tools could damage trim. 2) Trim pieces that are "easy" to remove might be more difficult in your car. For center console trim around the gear shift, loosen the bottom portion, then pull back (toward rear of vehicle) to remove the top portion. Prying up could break the piece or mar adjacent trim. My car had not a millimeter of space between trim parts. For left lower trim in driver leg well, after loosening lower portion as shown in the video, pull back and slightly left, toward the center of the driver's seat - that's the best angle to avoid breaking pins. For right lower trim in passenger leg well, after loosening lower portion, and center fastener, pull directly back (this was difficult). Look at video carefully and see how pins are oriented before you try to loosen. There are four pins, not three like on the left side. For air conditioning duct trim above radio, use trim removal tool to make space for a small hook - reduces chance of marring trim. 3) If a set of speakers is not working, check to ensure connections are well seated. I found a connector was not fully seated into the back of the radio. Voila - three rear speakers fixed. (This is for a standard speaker configuration, not the Mark Levinson edition). Entire disassembly, re-seating connector, and reassembly took 20 minutes.
This whole time I have an I-pod connector in my 07 lex gs350 and I did not know how to use it because I didn't knew you have to take out all the discs out of the changer in order for it to work! Thanks to your video....almost a year and I didn't knew hahaha.
Thank you. Also, you can reset the entire vehicle, by crossing two wires on the ect connection. Ive had an SC400, and ES 350. I prefer the ES350. The SC is very expensive to work on. And the scorpion V8 is not that powerful. The V6 is quite nice. Over 400 000 miles, still running great, no oil use, everything works nice.
1. Don't use a metal screwdriver to pull out the AC vent unless you want to risk damaging the dash or marring the plastic on the vents. Buy the plastic trim removal tools, they're cheap. 2. Unplugging the security light doesn't do anything.
Just purchased and installed this same kit with the optional Lightning cable and it is terrible. Build quality is great, but the sound quality is destroyed coming out of my iPhone 6S. All of the bass is way too loud and distorted. Also, there is a very high pitched whining noise coming from the speakers when the iPhone is plugged in. I am an audio engineer for a living and rely on my car to test my mixes out after the studio and cannot deal with degraded audio quality, especially not on the level this kit destroys your sound. Easy install, great build, but horrible sound quality. I'm returning it and would not recommend if you value great audio quality. Sucks that I have to be stuck with the bill of return shipping for a product that doesn't work as intended.
Is the Navigation Unit installed on this car original from the manufacturer or other supplier? I had a C7008LE GPS /DVD/ installed on my car and got AIR BAG MIL light on the dash which does not go away...Do you know how I can fix this problem? Roadrover unit is the one that I got....Any advice will be appreciated...thanks..C
