I think the judge abuses his power for sure he doesn’t have to be rude or disrespectful! He is a terrible judge who makes decisions off emotion! Be asked the defendant several questions and held him in contempt for answering his questions bc he didn’t like the answer! Judges like him are a disgrace!

Speaking as a data processing professional who once-upon-a-time used to write software to provide interactive phone call listing information to users, the jails phone call information system sucks. Anyone with access to the system should be able to get what they need more or less instantly, there is no excuse for it taking a month.

I love how he can lay the smackdown to hold this man-child in contempt, but then instantly chill out and joke about making sure the kids and go trick & treating.

It depends on the laws. Segregation is a wrong law
      Loving vs Virginia
      Arresting strikers
Sometimes you don't know a law needs changing until you see it doesn't work ... Like child labor before laws... Animal abuse and such.

Judge Simpson is about the only judge that means what he says when he gives contempt charges. All the other judges back down after one day. EDIT: I spoke too soon. Simpson waffled, too.

I just love Judge Simpson he doesn’t take any nonsense 30 days contempt. Judge Simpson as we know with Janelle the cone killer (driving offence) has humour and compassion he will try and help people, I’ve seen countless times the kindness and good he does, so why do defendant’s not learn that Judge Simpson will not take any nonsense.
    💙💙Judge Simpson Rocks💙💙

I think that's what he said but can't possibly imagine anyone trying that with, of all people, Judge Simpson!

Criminals are stupid. They are their own worst enemy. Everyone knows you can't just run your mouth in a court room. That's the attorneys job. These criminals have a problem following rules of any kind.

For those who didn’t see one of the earlier videos, Ms. Gaines is really doing the best she can after being dealt a bad hand. A couple of the calls are impossible to defend. She hasn’t been doing a good job of being succinct and to the point, but the points she’s making are valid - and they’re all she’s got. She has every right to insist upon receiving every bit of information about when these calls were made. (That said - for some of these calls, it won’t matter. The calls are damning no matter what.)
