It made me absolutely emotional to hear the chime with its beautiful pitch and precise tempo.
The revival of Gérald Genta under the auspices of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, led by master watchmakers Enrico Barbasini and Michel Navas, sets off with an exquisite piece that brings together two complications perennially associated with the marque-the jump hour with the retrograde minutes and the chiming watch-and marries them with an original octagonal case design by Genta that had been heretofore unrealized!
The champlevé Mickey Mouse figure on the fine white “grand feu” enamel dial embodies the celebratory mood of this timepiece when the 10th edition of the Only Watch coincides with Disney’s centenary, not the mention the 50th anniversary of Genta’s presentation of the first watch under his own name.
