  • Gerald Genta - What Other LEGENDARY Watches Did He Design?
The ultimate watch designer who is the one and only Gerald Genta has designed some awesome and iconic watches in the past such as the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. However, in this video, I will show the less famous watches he has made which are equally cool and legendary.

Didn't realise until the end that the video was from a small channel like this, good job!
Though you might want to double check Gentas' involvement in the omega constellation pie pan design, if I'm not mistaken he only redesigned the indicies, after the pie pan dial had already been on the market for a while. Changing them from the arrowhead indicies to batons.

The constellations by Omega you are showing are the originals. Genta was asked to redesign the constellation and created the C shape design (not the watches you are showing)

No mention of Bulgari ??!! They bought the Genta brand in 2000. The Bulgari octo line is the last of the Genta designs...

You missed the White Shadow. The watch that actually consolidated his reputation, with a second smash hit for the same brand.
Mate, this is all a bit "quick google" innit?

The only exceptional piece in my opinion is the RO and I do not mean the Overseas. The original is the best

Theres something about Genta case/dial designs that I genuinely can't stand, the "famous" ones all look the same, and just don't look attractive, genuinely bulky and inelegant IMO. I respect the contibutions to watchmaking, they just don't work for me. Thats the joy of horology however, looks are entirely subjective!! good video

It’s the same watch. Same design. I play around with building design and pipe design for work and I draw anything I want to build. Even all my tattoo ideas. We have an idea. Then it Evolves, it never stops evolving. I still see all my first ideas in all of my “final” ones. Not to be a shit talker or hater. But let’s get off his nuts. They are the same watch. Look at car design. Every vehicle starts off square and the it rounds out. After it rounds out. It goes back to square. And so forth. The F150, Tesla, GM. Etc. all my drawings and ideas are all re iterations. So we have different watch brands. But it’s the same watch. It just how are minds learn. You can see my designs in all my piping. I do distinct things cuz in my mind it’s more efficient for whatever I’m facing for whatever reason. And some I just don’t give a shit. It’s it’s also fine. But only I know that part. But others know. Why? Cuz what I learned when racing motorcycles. Smooth is speed. Goes into my ideas. No one it’s kissing my ass!!! Hahaha. It’s our job. I guarantee. Auto anyone reading this. Get a piece of paper and draw a watch or a house or whatever. Then do it again. Then do it again. You will already know what to change and then keep going. It will always change u til you draw the stopping point and say. That’s it. Then do I it again with another design. Round , square , triangular, hex. Idk. It don’t matter. But then pick one to make. , then draw one again. And you will use all those ideas Then you will mentally craft it
