I saw this statement where someone said that Sevika isn't loyal to one person but to the nation of Zaun on its people. That's why she protected Jinx and fought with her despite not being a huge fan of her initially. Jinx became a hero and was the next best leader option for Zaun after Silco passed and there certainly was tension before Silco died because he essentially refused Zaun for Jinx. The same thing Vander did. That's why Sevika is in the council at the end because she actually IS the best leader option because she isn't "blinded" by love for family. Her entire being is loyalty towards Zaun and it's people overall. Without her being attached to one, or more, specific individuals. She fights for the people as a whole while Vander and later Silco too prioritized their kids safety and well being over the cause
Noteable actually is that Sevika doesn't "give our own people" her problem with Vander wasn't him protecting his daughters. It was him letting topside walk over Zaun while they looked for Vi.
I totally agree! Persons mistake loyalty for bootlickers or lapdogs, when one can simply have a devout loyalty for their core principles and ideals. I love Sevika as a character, and what she stands and fights for. She's so effortlessly badass, even when she gets her ass handed to her lmao!
People have two entire seasons of her being a loyal dog, her whole ark spinning around loyalty, and they question associating her with loyalty?! Media discourse is so exhausting nowadays
I think this kind of nuance of ideal character traits is what makes the show so good. We realize throughout the show that even true idealism is anything but black and white when it’s applied to reality.
Sevika was never loyal to Vander, nor Silco, nor Jinx or anyone else. She only was loyal to Zaun. Not even the place so much as the idea of it. She worked for Vander because he was working towards Zaun's freedom and independence. Then when he wasn't, she worked for Silco, who although he became a crime lord, never lost sight of what he was fighting for. This is why she never tried to seek revenge on Jinx for killing Silco. His death only mattered in so far as that it made the future path for Zaun more difficult. And although she didn't like Jinx, when she became the symbol of Zaunite resistance she was willing to put any history aside to work with her. Sevika at first glance seemed one dimensional as a thug and mercenary, but by the end we see that her decisions and actions were all in pursuit of a cause that she believed greater than herself.
Seriously, have her be a playable character in the game! Come on a one armed Zaunite fighter with a wildcard mechinzed arm powered by Shimmer, let the crazy abilities Roll!! Also I heard that Sevika is loyal not just to Silco but to all the people of Zaun. Its one of the reasons she became a council member which I find justifiable
She wouldn't play the way you'd want. She has to have clear, understandable abilities that telegraph a specific way (because as a non stealthing character, that is standard. It helps with pacing.) So her abilities wouldn't be random and couldn't ever be.
The word for loyalty to principals and ideas is integrity. She has integrity. She didn’t betray Silco was always loyal to the betterment of Zaun while the others were shortsighted and only loyal to power and money and didn’t give two cares about the ppl of the city. She was loyal to Jinx because in her own words, she was a symbol of hope to the people of Zaun. So she was loyal to the ppl that cared about her community and worked towards that goal no matter the cost. The moment she sensed a shift in other ppls ideals was the moment they were dead to her
Its also supproted by the mutiny scene in season 1 she blatantly said she wasnt tempted to turn on Silco only because the next person up int je power vacuum doesnt have Zaun's interest at heart, he's a worm. Silco is still better than the runner-up so she'll still work for him, if Finn had been a better option then she probably would have sided with him
Silco and sevika fight for a cause. Similarly, Vander and Jinx fight to protect their family. In S1 when vander and vi are gone silco and the rebels are her new family but s2 it's revealed she doesn't fight for the cause.
Someone described her character best where they say that "SHE doesn't think she betrayed Vander." like she thinks that Vander went against their cause and so felt like it was justified to go with Silco instead but that's just my opinion.
The fact that Sevika was so loyal to the cause that in S2 she reach out to Jinx, because she was now the real symbol of the resolution, of the fight, of the cause, shows that she was never loyal to Vamder or Silco, because in S1 she hated Jinx but in S2 despised her feeling towards her, she still went there to ask her to be part of the movement and inspired people.
The whole thing tho is that scene where silco realizes that vander wasnt fight because he wanted to break the cycle of violence and also empathy for giving up a daugther. The adoptive love was very beautifully showned but later on the showed it wasnt just foster, they actually had connections with the mother and the father who dont explore much
I'm CONVINCED that sevika got that chop after losing her prosthetic arm after season 1. I recently went through a bad period of health where I was struggling physically to care for my hair (I already started out with the bare bones of care: wash, brush, braid to avoid knots) and sevika's hair cut made me think immediately how my own hair would have turned out had i had to play the one armed barber myself. So i can't hate sevika's haircut, that's her accessibility haircut 😂

Sevika is loyal to zaun and she knows her own limitations. Therefore she follows whoever she thinks is the best for zaun, until theres nobody left but her.
I’m actually not a fan of Sevika on the council. As much as Silco goes on about an independent Zaun for the people he himself treated the people of Zaun horribly forcing them to work in factories and selling shimmer on the streets of Zaun and ruining people’s lives. And Sevika was his number one enforcer anybody that wasn’t an employee under Silco and probably a high ranking one at that has probably had a bad experience with her whether it was threatening, torture, or possibly even a death of family member or friend just about anyone who meet her probably had a bad experience. And now she’s supposed to represent them like they should be angry and want her dead not representing their interests.
@@Justintime8838 I don't think they would """mind""" that much Zaun, especially Silco's version, is a dog eat dog world. Look at the kids who tried to rob Vi and the gang in episode 1. And also Sevika is (in)famous in the undercity. Everyone knows who she is and what she's about, it's why they call her out at the rally about wanting to see jinx. Sevika is the muscle to someone else's face, she is not in charge herself. So if anything I think we just missed some scenes of her deciding she was done hoping that someone else with pick up the mantle and rally the crowds and finally do it herself.
That's the thing with the "If", maybe she was terrible, maybe not, we know she isn't a saint but it's not possible to say what she did exactly and in what context she did. The possibility of her cold-blooded murdering innocent people is as true as the possibility of her using her salary to fund a orphanage while she lives with whatever the money her bets earns
I don’t think she’s loyal to people, she’s loyal to the cause, to the hope for Zaun’s independence, and will choose whoever can make that dream possible.
As wrong as slico is he’s about one thing, gander could’ve done more. He had a whole deal and friendly relations with Grayson, that’s a good negotiation point. He had an opening into making the undercity better but he was so scarred he might fail that he waisted it
Sevika is not loyal to people she is loyal to the nation of Zaun. She knows she doesn't have administrative skills so she's relying on capable people like Vander and Silco to do that part. This is why (in Sevika's POV) when Vander betrayed the Zaun for Topside she went to Silco who's still fighting for Zaun (preping for the fight in ep1).
Neither Silco or Sevika want it to kill Vander. Silco plan was probably gonna be lock up Vander until he joins his desire for independence. And also im pretty sure Silco would be mad if he find out what Singed did to Vander.
The only that really bothers me is how she protects Jinx. She literally lost arm due to her and knows how she f things up. She was also the(initial) reason why martial law got declared.
I was really surprised that Sevika wanted to protect Jinx after everything went down. I think it's because she has no idea what happened in the finally of season 1. Jinx kills Silco then destroys the closest chance they had to independence ever and started a war. If she knew that or was there she'd be pissed and want to kill her Speaking to her loyalty, I was also surprised in her actions in season 2 since I thought her loyalty to Silco was based off of his strength not particularly what was good for zaun. Poeple always praise Silco for getting close to achieving independence. The nation of zaun. But with in zaun the poeple are suffering worse then ever. He flooded the streets with shimmer to take control. In season 1 Sevika doesn't care about zaunites, same as Silco. Ekko said they had been killing the firelights for years, a group made up of ex shimmer addicts and orphans. We see the streets when vender was in control and when Silco is in power and its pretty clear that things only get better in zaun for the leaders of gangs and those in power. The common people's lives get worse. Vender cared about everyone, Silco despite what he says really only cared about himself.
I can’t believe Sevika does everything for the “good of Zaun”. A lot of what she does seems more self serving than for the good of the people. And without powerful figures like Vander or Silco to fill that void of control she’s kind of useless/ without agency. In Season 2, she(and to a lesser extent, Isha) tries to prop up Jinx as the “heir” to Silco’s throne while the other chem barons squabble with each other in the chaos that followed Silco’s demise and the deaths of the Piltovan Counsil members. It feels kind of wrong that she was handed power over Zaun.
She's loyal to the cause of zauns independence. She'd follow or support anyone who would better zaun. If she thought Finn would have been better for the cause, she wouldn't have killed him.
I was ready to write a book about how much of a good character she is, how her grow was well made and everything, but instead i just gonna say: HER HAIRCUT IS GOOD WTF DID YOU MEAN BAD HAIRCUT BROO??
“She didn’t betray Vander because she doesn’t perceive herself as having betrayed Vander” is a really flimsy argument. It’s just a moment where she acts out of character. It happens with every single character because that’s how people work
Sevika isn't loyal to any one person, instead she is loyal to zuan as whole and will follow whoever has the best chance of leading zuan whether that's Vander, silco, or jinx
Sevika is loyal to zaun through out the whole series, vander was zaun ( until ge wasnt in her eyes), silco was Zaun till he died and after that (obviously) jinx was Zaun.

@@Justintime8838 I don't think they would """mind""" that much
Zaun, especially Silco's version, is a dog eat dog world.
To die for one’s people great sacrifice, but to live for one’s people is a greater sacrifice
Why people hate her haircut😭 it's good on her
Yeah, well I see your point. However, just because she doesn't think that she betrayed Vander doesn't mean that she didn't.
Clearly her barber also betrayed her
Lol. The joke about the haircut 🤌🤣
am I the only one who loves Sevika's new haircut? She's a baddie.
I don’t think she’s loyal to people, she’s loyal to the cause, to the hope for Zaun’s independence, and will choose whoever can make that dream possible.
He didn’t protect her from bad haircuts! Damn! 💇♀️😅
THANK YOU! I have to explain this so much.
But her haircut is cool!
As wrong as slico is he’s about one thing, gander could’ve done more. He had a whole deal and friendly relations with Grayson, that’s a good negotiation point. He had an opening into making the undercity better but he was so scarred he might fail that he waisted it
She is loyal to a cause, not to a person. That’s at least how I interpret it
I love her haircut btw. I think it's cool
THAT WAS HAIR????
I thought she glued an old mop to her head….
If she knew that or was there she'd be pissed and want to kill her
Speaking to her loyalty, I was also surprised in her actions in season 2 since I thought her loyalty to Silco was based off of his strength not particularly what was good for zaun.
Sevika can't look bad in my eyes, heck, she could go bald and she'll still be stunning
Edit: She would look really good with long hair though imo
She's loyal to the cause of zauns independence. She'd follow or support anyone who would better zaun. If she thought Finn would have been better for the cause, she wouldn't have killed him.
Her haircut is so cute!!
I was ready to write a book about how much of a good character she is, how her grow was well made and everything, but instead i just gonna say: HER HAIRCUT IS GOOD WTF DID YOU MEAN BAD HAIRCUT BROO??
we love sevika❤
She's my favorite character idc
Seivika is loyal to zaun.
Vander basically gave up on zaun , silco was the only one pushing for a liberty from topside.
“She didn’t betray Vander because she doesn’t perceive herself as having betrayed Vander” is a really flimsy argument. It’s just a moment where she acts out of character. It happens with every single character because that’s how people work
Thats why she represent zaun in piltover
Sevika isn't loyal to any one person, instead she is loyal to zuan as whole and will follow whoever has the best chance of leading zuan whether that's Vander, silco, or jinx
Sevika is loyal to zaun through out the whole series, vander was zaun ( until ge wasnt in her eyes), silco was Zaun till he died and after that (obviously) jinx was Zaun.
(And Jinx still might be zaun or just dipped, cause jinx didnt die and thats a fact)
It’s crazy because write this video i never looked at her as if she betrayed vander lol
They were never allies, just two groups with similar objectives.
