    Discovering a 7 year old video is always a gem. From a 2023 perspective 2016 seems recent yet distant, a simpler time perhaps. And having had the privilege to row gears in a GT4 on the streets in 2016, what a memory. Maybe I'll end up buying one. 🤔

      Stick is fun on the street but paddles are quicker in racing.

      because a street car is not about ultimate pace, porsche has this right

    Cool video and shots. When you say compare on the track, it is ridiculous to not time your lap in both.
    Granted the Clubsport has slicks , 18" wheels , and a PDK , but would like to see anyway.
    The last vid I saw on GT4 did a 1:21 at streets which is seriously fast for a stock street car.
    As a comparison , a 73 911 with modified suspension , big wing, a 3.2L, 2400# , Kumho 710's , was 1:24's.

    Did the camera lens slide out or did you intend to shoot at 80mm+ from inside the car?

    • @Antenox
      @Antenox 8 лет назад

      Closeups of the driver?
      Alternatively, if that's the old Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens, then the zoom is reversed, i.e. you get 24mm when the lens is fully extended, and 70mm when the lens is full retracted. The 24-70mm f/2.8 Mk II goes back to the traditional arrangement of extended = telephoto, retracted = wide-angle.

      @nicdorman3826 8 лет назад

      That colud be it, I thought it might have been a 24-105 whose zoom is known to loosen. I assume the footage would be shaky as hell with the weight that far forward.

    I'm new to Porsche cars. What type of engines do they use, and how much horse power do they use?

      flat six

    • @MoJo-2977
      @MoJo-2977 8 лет назад +1

      For the GT4 , theu use the Carrera S 3.8 Flat6 and reduce it to 375 hp. But for example the 918 Spyder is a V8 with 608 hp plus another electric motor to bring ot to 887 hp.

    So if you're not rich enough to own a 6 figure weekend toy, then you're not passionate?

    • @leovomend8789
      @leovomend8789 8 лет назад

      there are places where you can drive these with instructors or rent them for the track. theres also for supercars, and i dont know about you but driving a 991 gt3 7 laps for 349 dollars with a racing instructor? or a 570s or a f430 scud, or gallardo SL, or a gtr.

    • @nitro677racing
      @nitro677racing 8 лет назад +3

      You don't need a 6 figure car to race, you'll still have fun in a 10,000 stripped 350z if you're at a track. He's right tho, if you've ever REALLY spent time at a race track, you'd love the passion and the people you meet there.

    So even racecar drivers prefer dual clutch over manual....nice.

    • @KushsHood
      @KushsHood 8 лет назад +2

      Modern dual clutches are much faster than manuals, he says that in the video. But he doesn't say that he prefers it.
      Most people prefer manual because you feel connected to the car, and you control every aspect, rather than flipping a paddle. imo it's just more enjoyable.

    • @ashy_gee6
      @ashy_gee6 8 лет назад +4

      Correct, the optimum choice is clearly dual clutch when it comes to serious competition.

    • @KushsHood
      @KushsHood 8 лет назад

      Ashy Gee Yup, of course. But for fun you'd choose a manual :)
      Also cheaper

    • @leovomend8789
      @leovomend8789 8 лет назад

      like he said, you can just in a second go down 3 gears, and out of the corner punch it and go back one. you cant do that in the manual

    • @brakesforsnakes757
      @brakesforsnakes757 5 лет назад +1

      @@ashy_gee6 It really feels like cheating when you take a DCT equipped car to the track.

    Pdk is the best transmission why only sell a manual

    • @thenerdycanadian7172
      @thenerdycanadian7172 8 лет назад

      because the GT series is a "drivers car" aka full control

    • @ewiem4351
      @ewiem4351 8 лет назад

      The GT series is for the street. The PDK is faster around a race track, which incidentally requires a better driver than a street racer.

    • @stevehash158
      @stevehash158 8 лет назад +2

      lol they have enough PDK.. PDK is for lap times manual is for ppl that have a soul that want to live and drive and be in control..
