You could get by with a 600 Topper, One Batt (using both sides), and some CeOx Ultra Laps (plastic mylar disposables)...then you could be cutting Quartz, Beryl and a few others.
Semi-transparent doesn't sound good. You would have had some priceless gems if they are gem quality. I have never seen Hauyne in anything like a 60 ct size.
Michael, Many thanks for the details on how you cut this special gemstone. One question - in the last few shots of the video where it showed a really nice deep blue it appears as there is a small area on the crown - upper right that may be a deeper blue area. Was that an inclusion? I did not see it in the previous videos.
There is no color zoning in the gemstone, it's all uniformly the same blue...and it's a very vivid blue, although my camera and lighting may not have shown it very well. You may have seen a small inclusion as I had to use a magnifying camera lens to take those last photos, due to the size of the stone. Note that you can see the small specks of dust on the mirror quite easily with this magnification, even though I cleaned the mirror prior to taking that shot. So that shot is under magnification.
Perfect cut, beautiful gem.
Thank you!
That is a beautiful Gem!
Thank you.
Thanks
You're welcome.
Nice stones I sure need to facet some stones but haven’t purchased any new laps yet 😂

Great video, and now I know how to pronounce it
Great cut again mike !! What was the size or weight you started with ? Once again amazing !! Thank you
Thank you. The rough was 0.45 cts before I started cutting it.
I have hauyne crystals they are about 60ct. each and are semi-transparent to transparent. Thinking about faceting them.

So cool!! I have some too small to cut (melee if you did) in my collection, but that is gorgeous!!
Thanks. The color of the final gemstone is awesome!
