    The little key cut out in the bottom of the cup holder is for if your battery goes dead in your key fob you lay your key fob on that little diagram and the vehicle will start. My Chevy volt has that.

I thought I was settled on getting an Ioniq 5, but the various reliability problems they are having, and the complaints about lousy service at Hyundai dealerships is making me think twice. Isn't it Super Cruise on Chevy? Blue Cruise is Ford for sure. I have Blue Cruise on my Mustang Mach-E. The new car looks awesome! Can't wait to see how you like in the months ahead, especially coming from Tesla and comparing some of the features and whatnot to the Rivian. You also need to do a video on why you choose not to get another Tesla... I think a lot of us are wondering why. This car is going to be great for your channel, just like the Rivian has been good for the channel, I've been following since you were around 300 subs and boy did it take off once you got the Rivian!

    My 3lt awd with sunroof arrived today and 3lt do have 21" tires which I hate, in quebec we have winter tire laws so getting 21" tires were twice the price of 18" so i got 18" rims for winter but wheel outer diameter is same which actually is better for traction and lower risk of wheel damage from potholes.

    • @Eventurefamily
      @Eventurefamily  4 месяца назад

      Congratulations! That’s the perfect trim level. I have always gone for the smallest wheels on a vehicle before to for both reasons. unfortunately a lot of cars ev or otherwise dont come with spares anymore. I checked out the equinox recently and was fairly impressed I decided to not go with it ultimately and instead of opted for a Kona. However, it is a really nice vehicle. Congratulations on your purchase. Ultimately, I went with the Kona because some of the safety features are a little bit more advanced, like the Blindspot indicator that pops up in front of the dashboard behind the steering wheel. And I saw a number of videos that the tailgate opens on its own in a sensitive way so that turned me off other than that the drive itself and the way that the car operates is impressive. The amount of legroom and space that you have beats out every other in the class and it is priced competitively for now. I did find the back is a little bit dark in terms of the lighting, however perhaps in future models, they will have an added sunroof. The fact that has an all wheel drive variant is also impressive and second of all the EV that I've driven and checked out thus far.

    • @Eventurefamily
      @Eventurefamily  3 месяца назад

      That’s a great comparison and I agree with all the pros and cons you mentioned. I do wish there was a brighter interior option or that I had been able to find one with the sunroof but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I’ve gotten more used to the tailgate now and am down to like one accidental opening a week now. The Kona is a great vehicle as well and doesn’t get enough attention. Thanks for watching!

    • @Bremend
      @Bremend День назад +1

      Can confirm it is very dark. Took apart the dome light and it's single LEDs on a pcb, so you can't even upgrade a bulb to output more light. I feel that it has more legroom than the Kona

    So size-wise the loaded Equinox will be competing with the base R2. From your Rivian experience do you think it holds up?
    Styling wise I sort of hope there will be a GMC Terrain AT4 version.

    • @Eventurefamily
      @Eventurefamily  4 месяца назад +1

      It’s very hard to say until the R2 actually comes out and we see final details, but I think it might be close. I expect the Rivian to charge better, have really excellent software, and probably very good ride and motor tuning over the Chevy, but it’s hard to say what they’ll be able to do to keep it at that price point while still being profitable. Chevy is also changing a few things for the 2025 model year, so with another year still on top of that, there’s a chance Chevy would come out on top. Right now I’m betting on the R2 with my reservation and the 2 year lease on the Equinox but who knows?

    I love EVs and I'm seeing more of them on the road than ever. I want the equinox activ plus but too bad it's in China. If it gets 80 miles per charge that's phenomenal! I'd love to get an EV but solid state battery technology is coming within the next 5 years and that's really going to push gas cars to extinction. The battery is safer, 30 percent more miles, can take the cold better, charges within 15 minutes(need 500kw station)😅. It's worth the wait.

      Absolutely! There are so many great options now and there’s nearly something for everyone. I’m glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!

    So it's another (non Tesla) EV that's great if you commute a few miles and take occasional road trip. If you need to drive 50-100 miles per day, you can only consider one EV brand...for now

    It looks like a nice vehicle. It does not compare to a Tesla. Tesla has the newest software and is much faster on the road

      if you are upgrading from a 10 year old Toyota or Honda , Teslas are ok, but their quality is way below par now to any other manufacturer, and they are all built in china now

      @@stratoshd9043 your definitely misinformed. Tesla is the most American 🇺🇸 automaker. 90 percent of all their parts are made in America which is the most out of any automaker in America. I can send you the link if you want.

      why does everyone get so hung up on Tesla being faster? Seriously for everyday driving, does it even matter? When you are driving around town with or without kids, you're not driving like you are on a racetrack, its nearly impossible. Is it fast enough to pass someone on occasion when you need to? Thats all you need. I agree on the Tesla software, but honestly, it has so much that most people won't use it to its fullest ability, just like with an upgraded computer, most people only do basic stuff. I need to get in my car and drive, I don't care if it has games or makes farting sounds or the ability to watch RUclips or Hulu. I just need to get from point A to point B safely. With so many new EV's on the market, people have choices now, not everyone wants a Tesla.

      I disagree, coming from 3 Teslas and having driven every model (except the truck). The Chevy rides better than the Model 3 and Y and the tech is quite comparable. The Tesla does mobile apps way better and better vertical integration, but it’s not as big of a difference as I imagined. The performance is definitely not as good in the Chevy as a Tesla, but for a commuting car I don’t miss it.

      I don’t care for Tesla speed, especially living in California where there’s always traffic. Pretty much useless here. I’m so glad there are people out there willing to try something different. My friend bought a Tesla Model Y over a Toyota RAV4 PHEV. The Toyota was more expensive. Good to know that Tesla MY are now more affordable than ever.
