Number 1 - your TA is gorgeous, you obviously take really good care of it. Number 2 - a real sports car delivers an experience - good and bad. When manufactures try to give you an awesome sports car experience, without sacrificing comforts, room, and other amenities, they inevitable take about the sports car experience. Look at BMW M series, Nissan GTR - fast, roomy, all the features BUT BORING!!!!!!! I've driven all these cars and prefer the Viper and appreciate more and more older sports cars like my friends Pantera, GT40, and Daytona Coupe. Real sports cars. Drive them all and people will understand what I'm talking about.
+Viper ACR well said my friend! Definitely agree that modern day sports cars with the paddle shifters and all that are just not as engaging of an experience. The viper is on another level in terms of driver involvement. The G5 is the best car I've ever owned.
I love the viper corvettes have always been a bit more comfy and easier to live with but the viper is more hardcore each one is great in there own way.
The first and second are noteworthy to me but the others are supercar stuff thats very forgiving. My biggest complaint that is completely unforgiving is that when I look out my window everyday, I am reminded that I don't own one yet.
"Unconforting" isn't a word. Lock the car and the alarm will go off if someone opens your hood. It's f**king loud. No one, and I mean, no one, is going to stand around the car when that thing is going off. It scares the s**t out of me every time I forget to unlock the car before opening the hood. You can open the trunk with one hand. Just use your palm to push up on the spoiler while you press the button. If you can't figure that out.....hmmm..... It isn't hard to get in and out the car. You put your right foot into the cabin, and then follow it in. Don't try and get out of the car with both feet on the ground............duh.... Get the chrome wheels.......... It's supposed to be like a cockpit........it's a f**king race car. Lower the seat!! Videos like this are ridiculous and a waste of everyone's time.
I agree with all your points, one thing tho, The exhaust, A good fix for that is to go with an aftermarket System, like Corsa, Doesn't completely kill the heat but definitely helps it
@@autosist2571 and could put a heat wrap above the exhaust on the underside of the body. Also you could ceramic coat the wheels for the brake dust issue
Awesome car man. My favorite color was thinking about buying one.. about new years time would you recommend for a weekend/ tracking? Regardless silk gorgeous TA.
The hood thing is kind of concerning, I honestly would put a lock on it or something cuz I wouldn't want some hater to like put some weird shit in my engine like that , and as for number 3, it's funny for me seeing 6 foot 5 inch dudes complain about "it's so hArD tO gEt iN tHiS cAr" like dude , it makes me appreciate my shortness even more, since I'm 5'4, and I fit in my daily in and out perfectly (2018 ZL1 Camaro, murdered out of course) And as for number 5, same as number 3, I'm short so for me this isnt too much of an issue,
did everyone miss the first 5 seconds where he mentions it was very hard for him to even make this video because of how much he loves the car and he himself pointed out these things were petty??? am I the only one that watched and listened the first 10 seconds or does everyone literally have selective hearing? lol
Have you tried the rear window defroster, I own a 2013 Viper and my hatch window shattered after pressing the button. Give it a try, you might be adding that to you annoying list. Also is there a way to lock these cars without taking the fob out of your pocket? I can't seem to find a way.
did you have any issues with oil pressure/engine/transmission yet, that seem to be pretty common with T/As? I heard they recalled many cars because of it, im kinda worried to buy it because I'd have to ship it all the way across the world so for warranty I have to ship it back to states if something happens which adds up to additional costs...
+misutatomasu my TA has been rock solid and has 10k miles now - not one issue. There definitely have been some with issues and QC has been pretty poor I'd say. However, there are plenty of gen 5's that have many trouble free miles with owners tracking them hard. Being that it's a hand built super car, I think there is some risk. Be careful with warranty as from what I was told, anything outside of the US would void the warranty as well as any modifications would void it as well. Some mods are ok and will be reviewed on a case by case basis. I'm leaving mine stock as it's plenty of car for me and enjoy it thoroughly.
+Charlie Brown not too bad. You get used to it quick. The car actually looks a lot bigger but when your driving, it's very nimble and balanced. The visibility is not good, especially if your tall, but it fits me like a glove and I got used to it quick.
Currently I have a 2013 Lotus Evora. After 3 yrs I like something different. I like the Viper a lot. I went to see one close to home that is for sale at a dealership. I sat in it, everything seemed fine but I was surprised with the tiny windshield. I'm 6'0 tall and I felt the feel of vision was narrow. I think the bump in the hood I could get used to it like you said but I don't want to be driving with my head down. Bummer. it is a very unique and bad ass looking car.
I have an '05 and a '15 GT. The MOST annoying thing about the '15, is the fact that they moved the window buttons to driver's side door, thereby cutting into your lateral leg room. Plus, the seats are FAR less comfortable than the '05's. No matter what you do, you're either too close to the steering wheel, or too far from the paddles. It's the only car I know of where the new model was made to be more uncomfortable than then older one. Notwithstanding, it's an awsome car still.
Looks like the video was not a hit on the Viper forum..... However your opinion on your car is valid if you feel a certain way, there are things with my Viper that I wish I could change as well... It is what it is...
+AUTOsist I hope you enjoy your TA.... Owning a Viper is unlike any other car you will ever own.... In my review of my Viper I also gave honest opinions both pro and cons... I will look forward to seeing your next video on the Viper...
Things that annoy me about my gen 2 2000 Viper GTS. You can pop the hood from the outside, No ABS ( this is really annoying when driving through the city) No backup camera, no side pipe exhaust.
A viper isn’t meant to be like a luxury vehicle.. and every one of those “problems” are DEFINITELY worth putting up with. Or at least it would be for me anyways. The viper has always been my dream car!! I have always wanted one sooooo bad!! Probably won’t ever have the chance to have an amazing blessing like that, but I can still dream tho right lol...?
Thanks buddy! We appreciate it. Happy to hear that you are working toward your degree! You will love the Viper and hope you get the one you want some day!
I think the hood latch was left out for the aftermarket to make money selling them. Just like the front license plate holder and driving lights. A set of aftermarket exhaust headers and catbacks wrapped in heatshield will keep your sills cool. I like Bad Boyz Garage Super Long wrap around headers with Agency Power Titanium exhaust capped with Belanger tips. 100lbs. less + 60hp; with the works in heat jackets.
AUTOsist Lightening fast response. You deserve this sub, thanks. You think I'll be fine as a 6'1 guy? Maybe if i pulled the seat all the way down? The viper is all i desire man.. no other car and if its too small for me that would crush my world.

Add 2 more downsides: 6. Tachometer is slower that the engine riving speed. 7. The front huge fenders, they are ugly as hill from side view and made the front wheels and tires look very small!
#1 is exactly what I said about the hood, because doesn't others do the same? I love the car but I can't afford that one. hopefully within less than two years I can have enough saved to buy a gen 3 out right. My biggest hate is the car needs to be really driven and it seems so far for me to find road courses where you can let it rip.
