  • Welcome to another episode of Board Meeting. In this episode, Robert and I will discuss hydrofoiling on a stand up paddle board.
Hydrofoiling is fairly new for SUP paddlers and we will talk about the different aspects of this new sport. A lot of the top guys like Kai Lenny, Connor Baxter, and Zane Schweitzer make it look easy but as you'll learn, SUP foiling or hydrofoiling definitely has a learning curve.

Slingshot is coming out with a foil mount system for any board. Its going to stick on like a GoPro mount and you can interchange foils. Looks like June should be release date. They've been using them on Slingshot Space Pickles

Thanks for sharing there's some great information there , that 12ft board glides and lifts really well,or mabee you make it look effortless. its going to be an expensive sport if you have to buy a dedicated surf foil and a downwind foil. Thanks

Great info...best "beginners" informational video I've seen yet. Good to have to long time SUP practitioners on camera discussing.

Hi guys, I live in Shippies Ahipara, New Zealand. Im the only one up here with a go foil Kai and so you guys are great source of info for me thanks... I've had 3 days on the go Foil Sup, I fitted the tuttle box to a 8'6" NSP wave board 105 ltrs and I weigh about 90 kg's. I kitefoil and SUP Wave riding and I've had a couple of 4-5 second glides so far on the foil in slow crumbly shoulder height waves. I'm loving the challenge of a new sport , super stoked that you have shared the knowledge you have gained. I have a question .... When I'm about to catch a wave I hear a high pitch sound coming from the foil's vibration is this common or have I fitted the mast incorrectly. The tutle box was fitted by Ding king NZ and they did a great job. I'm just wondering if that sound is normal.....
Would you recommend the foot straps to get that initial lift from pulling up with your feet by pumping ....
If we get a calm day I'll get the boat out and tow just to get familiar with the foil and how it rides and foot position and balance ...
thanks again really enjoyed your post keep them coming

Takes a lot of effort/strength to pump the board, for a long time...
