Your guy's timing and conversation skills are impeccible. You almost never accidentally interupt or talk over each other. Im actually shocked you can talk so flawlessy 40 min straight lol
I share an experience with a crazy conservative neighbor that Jennifer did. When I first moved in to my house, about day 2 the neighbors came over while I was out mowing the yard and gave the general “hey welcome to the neighborhood” spill. Ok cool that was nice of them. About 1 week in, the husband catches me while I’m getting the mail and walks across his yard and mine and I swear to God not a hello or hi exchanged, the first words out of his mouth were “Do know our Lord and Savior?” And my sarcastic ass said “well not personally but I hear he’s great” (personally I thought that was hilarious) but that joke flew over his head like a 747 and he now doesn’t talk to me AT ALL.
my gosh. I love yall. I live in Tulsa and listen to you all the time! Regarding Adderall - I've had it with people generalizing it as some type of party drug. I finally got on Vyvanse (a better version) for adult ADHD and it is life changing. So many things got better - depression, compulsive eating, and self esteem issues all got resolved. I wish I could have been helped when I was a child growing up in Ukraine, I feel like I could have applied myself so much more in school and aimed at higher goals. I'm happy with the success I've achieved, but it was a lifelong struggle to wake up every day and keep going to get there. I love the satire of this show and all the touchy subject matter you guys cover. Mental health is just a little more sensitive with how many lives it takes. Sorry to be a downer. Love you though. ;)
You sound like a brilliant person to me. I'm going to tell my daughter about Vyvanse; I think it might be a good thing for her. You just keep on going, my love. I know you'll make it.
I've had it with ppl who are always late especially when they never want to take accountability for it- say that i shouldn't judge them as a whole for being late, even though it's every single time. Complete disregard for People's time.
The adderal shortages is an epidemic as I have ADHD and I have done a Karen thing at the pharmacy twice when my prescription was delayed, thankfully nobody recorded it 😂 I’m so embarrassed and I need to be better than this
ADHD is so much more than just not being able to focus....like we a lot of areas of our lives are really messed up bc of ADHD, especially for those who aren't diagnosed or medicated, or ppl who didn't get diagnosed until later in life. Just something to remember! We get a lot of stigma =/
Thank you for saying this, the things that were said in this podcast make it more difficult for those of us with ADHD because we then face discrimination from people who think we're making it up.
Same! I am not "cracked out" on Adderall. I understand that people that don't need it would be. But I'm able to do basic functions that other people are able to do without a thought while I'm on my medication. I understand that many many folks abuse it but for those of us that need a stimulant to regulate emotions and executive function, pls stop abusing our medication 😅.
New listener here & I am enjoying every bit of it. Since discovering your podcast, I have been listening every day (trying to catch up 😉). Regarding people being not punctual, depending who they are, I pick my battles. I have a very close friend (my almost other half) absolute amazing person but always late (10-15 minutes sometimes 20 minutes). In the beginning, It used to bug me but now, I love her and she is amazing human, I let it go and tell her reservation is at 5:30 instead of 5 pm or picking her up in 10 minutes while I am 20 minutes away. 😅
I have a letter that I have had for years that I pull out once in awhile for laughs. A friend was having an outside party but you had to bring your own food to eat, bring your own drinks & bring your own chair to sit in. No we didnt go 😂
I've had it with peeing my pants every time I watch y'all😂😂. I'm from South Africa, and it's crazy to realize that the things we have all 'had it' with are international problems!! Love this...please never stop expressing yourselves!
I just want to give a different perspective of someone who does have ADHD and that Adderall has helped. Adderall does not make me feel like I'm on speed or that I'm superman...it actually does the complete opposite. It calms me down and slows my thoughts so I can actually focus on whatever task I'm working on. For the first few days I started taking it, I could hardly stay awake! Obviously there are a ton of people who don't have ADHD that are just abusing Adderall to pull all nighters or those who are like teehee I can't pay attention for more than 5 seconds so I must have ADHD. See the thing of "not being able to do a simple every day task" is part of the executive dysfunction component of (at least my) ADHD and it really brings me a lot of shame. For example, when I had a lot of different things I needed to do for work, I would just sit there going back and forth between should I do this or that? What's the most important thing that I need to start first? Well what about this other thing? Next thing you know it's been an hour and I haven't started on anything and it's almost impossible to just pick any one of them and start, because I would be thinking about all of the other stuff I had to do. There are many other examples, and it probably sounds really stupid to a lot of people who think "just do it", but it's honestly so hard to explain to someone who doesn't have any issues getting stuff done. Now I'm not saying Adderall is the be all end all or that everyone with ADHD needs to be on it or on any medication at all, but sometimes it's hard listening to the world demonize it and call it speed/crack/whatever when it is a medication that many people rely on to function as a normal human being. People wouldn't say the same thing about a type 1 diabetic needing insulin. I know it's not a perfect analogy because insulin is far less likely to be abused, but it is till similar. Anyway, still love the podcast and it's the highlight of my Tuesdays and Thursdays, but just wanted to give a bit of a different perspective :)
Actually the diabetes medication is a very good analogy, as people without diabetes have been abusing it because of its weight loss side effect. The difference is that in that case people are rightfully blaming the ones who use it without having diabetes and not the drug itself.
Again, there’s a nationwide Adderall shortage. We experienced this last year and for several months I could not get my prescription filled anywhere. And for someone that has severe ADHD, and who has been on this medicine for over 20 years it is detrimental to my daily functioning. When I’m not on my ADHD medication I am up all night. My sleep schedule is off. I’m totally non-productive and
Thank you for your comment- I also have ADHD and it's frustrating when people assume ppl with ADHD get high on their meds. If you don't have ADHD it's speed and you get high but my brain does something different with those compounds. I haven't been able to get my meds for over a year because of everyone abusing it and the shortage doesn't look like it will let up.
Lord knows I love me some I’ve had it and while both of these women are phenomenal, I love me some Jennifer Welch. This woman’s mental prowess, wit, and twisted humor is like having a conversation with your best friend for the first time all over again. Her delivery is perfectly executed her sarcasm is so damn saturated it’s almost palpable. Pumps, you are an absolute gem darling I promise, but #JenfortheWin everyday ❤❤❤❤
as an adult who has ADHD, adderall is legitimately the only thing that helps me 😅 i understand what they’re saying about overprescribing to kids but it does really help some of us
They’ve run out of it again! This happened last year and lasted several months. And again, I can’t get my prescription filled anywhere because of the shortage.
i wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until i was 18 and i took a break from 20-27. for me, medication is enormously helpful in helping me function. i find the widespread off-label abuse of adderall so deeply aggravating, because it just makes restrictions around access more difficult for the people who actually need it.
I completely agree with you I think it’s ridiculous. How teachers call you when they literally can email you and why are we having all these meetings when half of the things the kids can answer by their selves they’re literally seniors I was so glad when my two graduated
My daughters Pediatrician put her on the lowest dose of Adderall for her ADHD at a young age, and we didn’t know much about the medication, but once we watched how it changed her, we immediately took her off & got her on a non habit forming ADHD med. Best decision! It should be illegal to put any child or teen on any habit forming medications, because it can cause so many issues down the road.
You are supposed to monitor symptoms. That's how you know if it is working well or not, and you should be reporting them monthly to the pediatrician before they refill the prescription. If it's having negative effects, the doctor should take them off it. So either you weren't monitoring or you have an incompetent pediatrician, just like Jennifer's incompetent babysitter.
As a teacher we “have” these meetings because there are always always always parents who go to the school board to say there is no communication between the school and the parents. You can email, call, send notifications, but this still happens. If you don’t “have” to go to the meetings this is a CYA for the same complaining parents! God love them ❤
I am a gay guy that saw Jesus in a dream about 8 years ago. Trust me ladies, not only is He real, He is actually alive. That being said: i freaking love you both sooooo much!!! Thanks for making me laugh during very difficult times. And, don't get pissed Jen, but God bless you both! Love y'all!
Adderall has a different effect on people who legit have ADHD. When the shiny ball syndrome kicks in, it brings back the focus. The effects it has on those not ADHD is the too much caffeine effect. I bet a big part of the shortage was wfh moms all of the sudden having to take care of the kids during the pandemic. It's the new age "Mother's little helper".
I've lived next to a neighbor who would scream at me if I parked in front of her house ("I own this driveway") or jumped rope in my own front yard ("are you crazy? stop setting off my dog!") with no shame whatsoever. She had the same birthday as Bill Cosby.
OMG! I’m 2:30 seconds into this episode and I CANNOT agree more!! My work does this & I’ve basically said & felt the exact same way!! I love you two& I’m so excited to see you two on screen together again! I am not condemning anyone who uses meditation for themselves or their child’s adhd. But when my child was diagnosed I was basically told he will get behind academically and it will affect his self esteem and confidence and the cons of that could outweigh the cons of using medication. He tried basically every category of adhd medication and for him personally the side effects were so bad we stopped. Now he’s in middle school not medicated and doing better academically than ever. I don’t know if he just needed time to mature but I’m glad I didn’t force him to continue meds when they didn’t work for him.
Ugghh I needed this episode. Old dude neighbor annoys the f out of me. He’s up the wazzoo lecturing me how to use my garage door clicker and commenting on what almond milk I buy as I carry it from the car. 😵💫
I’ve had it with my neighbor. Every since they moved it. They are so loud. Now they have a child, which is not the problem. Is the goddamn rocking chair.
What I'VE HAD IT WITH is main caregiver parents (divorced or separated) who pretend as if being happy to have a break when your kids go to their other parent is such a sin. It's a break okay!!! Don't make me feel bad about loving it!!!. Unless ofcourse the other parent is not safe to parent, then I'm excited for the break!!! Sorry
Yes I love my kids not everyone else’s I was on a flight sleeping & the kid I’m front of me reached underneath & tickled my bare leg scared the shit out of me , told mom , she just laughed
Remembering today is Thursday & a new podcast is out just made my week. ❤❤ as for pharmaceutical companies, remember they dont make money on ppl not being on meds
So many problems boil down to "this could've been an email instead of an hour long meeting". I agree with Pumps, I've fucking HAD IT with unnecessary hand-holding like that. In a corporate setting we call that micromanagement. 😒 Also, I have HAD IT with people with main character syndrome like the ex friend with the gender reveal party. I have to disagree that the first sign she was crazy was that she ended a friendship over the listener not being able to attend. I think the first sign was her having a gender reveal party in the first place. (I'm half joking about that last bit, I'm sure there are normal people who hold those events but regardless it's nuts to expect people to drop everything for you).
I've had it with Jennifer dressing like a yacht captain every damn podcast. (Love you)
Her and I share the business casual/old person from Florida attire😅😅

This is gonna be addressed next podcast lolllllll 😂😢😅

I love how Kylie kept reciepts to call out Jenni and the pickle ball lateness, despite Jenni trying to call out pumps. Lol.

I’m dyingggg. Kylie came with the receipts and jousted Jennie off her high horse. 😂 much love & good health to you all
Love patchouli. I knew Pumps was awesome. And Jennifer is right, some people absolutely hate it.
And F neighbors.
I love it, too! What's the name of the detergent, I wonder?
@@timothy4664 Thank you! Checking it out now. I'll bypass the frankincense and myrrh. Just the word conjures up smell memory.
I need to know!!!
I've gotta know what this detergent is, Pumps!
i love these 40 min episodes of just yall!!!

This is the perfect episode. I've had it with HOAs. Whatever choices you make in life, make sure none of them involve an HOA.

The title made me spit my cup of tea out - spot on!
I’m so happy to see this channel growing so quick. I came across one of your clips on Twitter and have been hooked ever since. Y’all are superstars

Thanks for making me laugh during very difficult times. And, don't get pissed Jen, but God bless you both! Love y'all!
What specific laundry soap is this?? I would like to give it a try because I’m sure it’s lovely if Pumps believes in it.
I literally clap with pumps
So glad to on see you women representing Oklahoma.
Okay soooo, where's the link to the laundry detergent?! #TeamPatchouli!
I need to know what laundry soap that is? Also, I agree with the twitter guy!
17:53 I actually thought that Kendra might be Canadian from the accent!
I’m obsessed
What I would give for a reading of Pumps’ laundry soap hate letter
I've lived next to a neighbor who would scream at me if I parked in front of her house ("I own this driveway") or jumped rope in my own front yard ("are you crazy? stop setting off my dog!") with no shame whatsoever. She had the same birthday as Bill Cosby.

I am not condemning anyone who uses meditation for themselves or their child’s adhd. But when my child was diagnosed I was basically told he will get behind academically and it will affect his self esteem and confidence and the cons of that could outweigh the cons of using medication. Suggesting an in person (or virtual meeting) after laying out the instructions in an email should be a punishable offense!!!

I am on board with the neighbour caller.
What’s the detergent called?
What laundry soap has patchouli oil in it?
From the UK, we hate our neighbours, for a boundary dispute that lasted 11 years. She didn’t win btw.
I love patchouli!!!!
We need to know the detergent brand? Is it Le Labo?
Adderal isn’t “speed” that’s meth 😂
Speed is slang for meth lmao
it’s literally over the counter meth bro.
not that i have nothing against it, its just facts.
So many problems boil down to "this could've been an email instead of an hour long meeting".
