To be fair even without the whole tutorial being mandatory they would still need stasis, bomb and magnesis on this route so only cryonis could be skipped while still obtaining the paraglider. So if most of the tutorial rewards are necessary for the speedrun i'd say its time well spent.

Basically he is using a game mechanic,(accidentally implemented) where if you whistle and run at the same time you can run faster than walking without using stamina.

I've gotten really lucky so far and every time since I rewatched the successful shrine of resurrection clip you did and compared the screens i have gotten that clip first try. Maybe beginners luck because i can't do accurate shield bounces lol. Its a surprising amount of fun to speedrun this game and it's the first time i've even tried speedrunning any game.
