Homemade No-Knead Sunflower Seed Bread

  • Homemade no-knead sunflower seed bread is a delicious and wholesome loaf that you can easily make at home. This bread is made with two kinds of flour, sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, and yeast, and has a nutty flavor and a crunchy crust. You can enjoy it for breakfast, as a sandwich bread, or as a snack. You can add other seeds or nuts to the dough, such as sesame, flax, or pumpkin seeds.
    Ingredients
    3/4 cup water
    1 tsp active dry yeast
    1 tbsp granulated sugar
    3 tbsp sunflower oil
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    ¾ cup spelt, rye, or whole wheat flour
    1/2 cup sunflower seeds, plus more for topping
    ½ tsp kosher salt
    Cooking spray or oil for greasing the loaf pan
    Directions
    In a large bowl, stir together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the sunflower oil to the water and add to the bowl. Mix well until a soft ball forms. Cover and let rise for 12 to 18 hours.
    Transfer the dough to a floured surface and pull the corners to the center, rotating the dough by 90 degrees after each pull until you have rotated the dough twice. If the dough is too sticky, you may need to add more flour.
    Flatten the bread on a floured surface and cover it with sunflower seeds. Roll the dough into a loaf and place it into a loaf pan prepared with oil or parchment paper. Let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
    Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the bread for 50 to 60 minutes, or until golden and sounds
    hollow when tapped.
    Let the bread cool slightly in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely
