I think a lot of the members of Linkin Park tend to fade into the mix. That's not meant as an insult, just that they're mostly content in letting their sound be part of a greater whole, instead of going out of their way to stick out like in a traditional rock band. That being said, Rob DOES have his moments, and I think this was one of the first times he really stepped out of his comfort zone. And of course, The Hunting Party is basically his and Brad's magnum opus in terms of technical ability.
this is one of Linkin Parks best songs, and one of my favourite songs in the world. they way it has a kind of EDM dance feel at the start, but the whole time it’s very ominous and menacing. the last act shifts into a rock ballad where everything just clicks. i love everything from the cryptic lyricism to the way that zipping sound in the middle of the song feels like something is splitting apart. it’s an intense experience that sounds like a musical apocalypse.
Some songs by most groups all sound pretty much the same you can tell who they are by there sound. What made linkin park so unique is every single song had completely different and unique sounds and that is what made them awesome
Blackbirds is the bonus track, but its technically a Minutes to Midnight demo but was released as a bonus track for A Thousand Suns. check it out its really good.
"My brain's doin a lot at once!" Bruh that's WHY this shit is workin' for ya. Myself, I cannot believe it took me 20 gd years and a solo album or two for my dumb ass to have the AHA moment that Mike's ADHD ass is why I've been so locked into this music for that long. That's what it sounds like when the squirrel brain tries to calm itself.
The changes between Mike's and Chester's voices are great in this song. The transitions are so good that sometimes you don't even hear exactly where the transition is
When this song came out it was such a controversy lol I still remember the radio stations being like wtf I loved it. Probably not a great song to send to rock stations as the first single to an album though 😆😆 I thought it was genius. I mean the energy of how it starts instantly hooks, so I was in for the ride. But yeah the "catalyst" is the perfect way to describe the fusion of all its parts into the amazing crescendo that is the end of this song. Like you said, it just clicks. All makes sense.
i wouldve thought that the Waiting for the End would've been a more appropriate first single to the rock stations, but The Catalyst is the build up from everything and its story of A Thousand Suns
This was the first song I heard from A Thousand Suns, and I wasn't fond of it. It seemed ... too chaotic and crowded? But hearing it on the album, it was a very different experience. The sounds were now familar, even some of the lyrics, and it just came together like a climax. Much, much better!
Could you please react to linkin park's Reanimation album? has some killer tracks. including some of the instrumental interludes too? also if you love albums that go in order Reanimation almost feels like a cinematic action movie lol. some tracks are really intense too
You should have seen the outrage when this song came out, haha, it was the first single off of the album
mans actually remembered the lyrics hes a real one
Rob Bourdan does not get enough credit for his drumming abilities. He is fantastic in this song. Also another incredible Joe Hahn video. Love it!
* BOURDON
@@MUSiC-world-20986 Sorry, fat fingers😂
His drumming in Little things give you away and When they come for me is also good. I'd argue that When they come for me is the best song for Rob
@@martinbabich1920 rob killed it on Hunting Party

When you see an interlude, you should join it with the next song as you did with Jornada/WFTE. That works the best.
Fun Fact: Fallout have the lyrics from Burning in the Skies
thats why you listen to preludes, interludes etc...an album is an album for a reason

Yep. They've recorded it for M.T.M., but decided NOT to put it back in that days. But it's a BEAUTIFUL SONG
They released it as bonus only for iTunes editions of the ATS album. Cause firstly Blackbirds was exclusive for 8-bit Rebellion game.
@@MUSiC-world-20986 Of course they dont put it back in MTM days cause song was unfinished. They finished it specially for game (8-bit Rebellion).
This is my second favorite song, right after When They Come for me

Честер, как всегда, неотразим и великолепен❤
Fun fact, this song has 120 tracks/stems, almost all of them were used in the final song
Fun fact: the lyrics of the last part of the song were originally meant to be "Lift me up, let me go, leave it all, down below"
Linkin Park meilleur groupe du monde, Chester forever 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love how you figured out the lyrics from Requiem were the same. Not a lot of people notice that
I really like your reaction to this and your description of it. It really does become a perfect circle. Thank you.
