Not really scary but Haywire Mite has these these circles, and there's this phobia where you can't see those circles close to each other and I avoid looking at that art lol
Peace of Mind from the Eldritch Moon edition, is not a ugly type of scary, but its really sad and desperate the full concept of it. First time I saw it, the eldrazi got way more scary
Imagine if Hollywood just used MTG artwork as inspiration for movies. We could get some actual good horror movies again. Thank you so much for this dip into horror art, honestly I can't wait for the next ventures into horror as the channel grows.
@DiceTry Either as is or an adaptation from the material. I could see it now. These alien like beings just carving into bodies, replacing organs, all to help those so unfortunate to have been put into a vessel of flesh. You have any kind of hero (or victims) without powers or abilities to fight back and yet try to anyways only to watch their friends be reborn one after another, singing the praises of their new existence and so much more comfortable bodies.
I think the scariest card art is *Ad Nauseum.* He's drawn the symbol so much his hands have eroded. His eyes are propped open by splints. His back is split from bending over, and his legs have atrophied. But still he draws the symbol. He draws and draws and draws. If this is the cost of continuing, how horrible is the punishment for STOPPING?
Living Wall by Anson Maddocks was always fairly disturbing. A lot of his work was very well done. A lot of the Thrull artwork from Fallen Empires was quite good, and that Minstab Thrull in your video was quite good.
Not sure if I still have any left in my collection, but I got a hand full of *Abomination*, and I think *Nafashnu*, in a horde of older Magic cards a friend's dad gave me.
Haha, yeah this timeline video has me anxious too, but more in a nervous way. It's becoming easily the biggest video I've ever done so I hope people enjoy it.
For me one the pnes that actually scared me when I saw it was called terror. It's just this hunched over, frightened, emaciated, dissheveled looking figure with one eye visible, bulging out of it's socket, screaming in absolute primal fear on a black background...That image haunts me.
Two cards that stuck in my mind were The Rack and The Black Vise. They were among the 1st cards I ever saw, not horror but awesome art and feel to them. Cheers
I appreciate all of this artwork and your commentary on it. BUT for me, what kicks me in the gut is the numbered slide transitions. That sound... I'm sure you know... is a phoneme in the Phyrexian language, and it chills just as certainly as any of the art. Good choice there...
Time to make a commander horror deck theme Also, Looming Shade (Urza's Saga) by Vincent Evans is one of my favourite. I remember opening a random pack of magic when i was a kid and get pretty scared by it 😂
some cards I like are Walking Desecration, Noxious Ghoul, and Feast of the Unicorn. I feel that the art plus the flavor on them makes them all the more disturbing
Its realy a shame that a lot from the magic cards with cool artworks are just crap and therefore useless today. I pick only these ones which are still strong and fit into my zombie horror or phyrexia deck.
4:15 Here's a hot take -- that's not the Animation. That's what happens to green and white creatures when they see the Abomination. Its actual appearance is too ghastly to ever be actually represented in art 🎨
So let me know, what is the scariest card in Magic

@Illstatefishing oh that's an interesting one. Sometimes there is nothing more scary than that which gives us a visceral reaction.
@@IllstatefishingDon't look at The Hive (Tenth Edition).
Peace of Mind from the Eldritch Moon edition, is not a ugly type of scary, but its really sad and desperate the full concept of it. First time I saw it, the eldrazi got way more scary
@JujuGoiaba06 great choice, I like that one a lot as well
Ad Nauseam. That art is the Pinnacle of creepy for me personally.
Same, that and some of other arts about Grixis.
For me personally, New Phyrexia takes the prize in terms of MTG horror, but Grixis should definitely get a lot more credit for being absolutely *FOUL*
Oh man the Grixis shard takes the cake for some of Magic's gnarliest art
Imagine if Hollywood just used MTG artwork as inspiration for movies. We could get some actual good horror movies again. Thank you so much for this dip into horror art, honestly I can't wait for the next ventures into horror as the channel grows.
Oh man I would love to see the Phyrexians brought to life. Could you imagine

One must imagine Sisyphus happy.
I expected gore, got post-gore instead. Indeed horrifying
Love Magic’s art, hopefully they’ll dive deep into horror themes again.
Well we do have a new horror set coming next year. It'll be like a haunted house theme but I am curious.

Especially the fact that it has a fetus in the wall
Not sure if I still have any left in my collection, but I got a hand full of *Abomination*, and I think *Nafashnu*, in a horde of older Magic cards a friend's dad gave me.
Boneknitter. It was one of the first MTG cards I owned, and it always made me so uncomfortable!
Love philosophy, love horror, really anxious for the timeline video and any other you make

Abrupt Decay, the goblin version

abomination of llanowar gets me pretty good. especially with the flavor text.
Time to make a commander horror deck theme

The two cards that come to mind are - Terror (minimalistic and effective) and Living Wall.
some cards I like are Walking Desecration, Noxious Ghoul, and Feast of the Unicorn. I feel that the art plus the flavor on them makes them all the more disturbing
Looking forward to the full length video!
It's a big project but I think people are really going to like it.
The Fallen and The Wretched
No Hogaak? 😢
Modern MtG art is scary and disgusting to me, but for different reasons.
Honestly every era has its strengths and weaknesses.
I've never seen your face and holy shit you look exactly like someone I know. I had to pause the video to process it
Haha, maybe I am
Nice :)
Thanks ❤️

Nefashu is channeling Rob Liefeld's Captain America 🤣
