We asked my theatre teacher what her favorite musicals were and she said Avenue Q as one of them. She also said she recommends watching it when you’re “older”. Guess what I did :))
No, it's Sesame Street for young adults -- and young adults are obsessed with sex. I thought that was clearly stated in the publicity, and I knew what to expect when I saw it. It's a masterpiece.
When I was watching Lord of the Rings in a big multiplex cinema when it came out, there was a whole Kindergarten with two young women in the front row... - they wanted to go see Harry Potter but went into the wrong theatre... - and they only realized during the great battle of the opening scene: the shield-wall of elves and men against the ferociously raging orcs... and Mount Doom in the background - hastily the Kindergarten „aunts“ made the complete row of children stand up and run for the exit, while the ring of power was cut from Sauron‘s hand - that was fun: guess the children had quite a story to tell afterwards... - same as me 20 years later here ;-)
@@Stadtpark90 Harry Potter wasn't written for children that age either (J.K. Rowling said so). (She can't help what some people's kindergarten teachers may think.)
It isn't really about what age you are, it's whether you have fun with it or not. There are some kids who like this. I'm grown up and I like most of it, except the part where the internet is supposedly "for porn" (and actually even that I'm beginning to get used to now).
Bravo! Really enjoyed this: great parody of Sesame Street, smart screenplay, sharp lyrics and catchy tunes, and terrific production. Most definitely relevant for 2021. Watch this especially if you've pocketed some life experience 😉
In the 2007 show we saw in San Diego, the phrase "This show!...is only for now" was replaced with "George Bush! Is only for now" and it got the loudest cheers of the evening. And in the 2017 Utah production also on RUclips, it was "Trump!" And it got a similar response. In Utah.
I’ve seen this live in the UK and it was brilliant the only bad thing about this one is Christmas Eve she is clearly not japanese and her accent is terrible
I thought this was great! I’ll never see it on Broadway, so this was the next best thing! I thought everyone did really well and thought they played the characters. Awesome brilliant work everybody!! I know you did this nine years ago, but it’s still awesome!!
Had a blast doing it. I played Nicky & Trekkie in this production. I had the opportunity to do it again 4 years ago, as Nicky. But this time with my daughter. I'll be posting the video, so please feel free to subscribe to be notified.
Great show! Love this musical, loved this performance! One note I'd like to give, Princeton could have "opened up" a little bit more, as could some of the other puppeteers.
I wish Kate's puppeteer looked and acted just a little bit more like Kate. Kate is one of my favorites but her puppeteer is sort of unKatelike. (Guess she couldn't help that, though.)
@@aicey78I worked in this production and Trekkie was played (and sung) by one person. That same person also plays and sings as Nicky, but the hands are done by someone else when he has to be in a scene as Nicky. I don't like the part when they go into the audience and ask people to give them their money. How many of you attending a show of this got pissed off at that and wanted to punch them out for that? I would.
why don’t you like the part. Just don’t donate you have a choice, I love the way it is incorporated. also in this particular one they didn’t seem to truly ask anyway

Watching in 2024... This is the best musical I've ever seen! Lol
So this is Sesame Street for adults 😁I like it
Imagine bringing your children ro watch this thinking it’s a children’s show. Sesame Street on Meth.
Am nine and that how my childhood was ruined now I don't watch puppets shows anymore 😑😑😬🤯

43:09 I adore the way that line was delivered. Nonchalant yet cheeky :)
Wow, with a few exceptions, this cast sounds *incredibly* similar to the original cast.
"Take her home, she's wasted."
When Rod tells Nicky to go live in the garbage can, that has to be a reference to Oscar.
I feel like Rod and Nicky are a tribute to Bert and Ernie too!
@@happydoodler3511 Yes, I was just referring to the line.
This is by far one of the strangest musicals I have ever watched but it was really good!

why does christmas eve sound british
Because usually the actor playing her in the UK version is British

As far as I can tell, this isn't running anyway now, so why isn't there a DVD or a feed on a streaming service anywhere?
Most shows aren’t. Look at Assassins, 13, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Ride the Cyclone, etc
Pigeon is a Bert reference.
Great rendition & well shot unlike a lot of the others. Got a laugh out of all the grey hair in the crowd when they were asked for money 😂
Who else is here because of collegiate drama classes?
I can9t figure out the actor playing rod’s accent. Is it southern?

The underwear song is sort of stupid. And they should've had one of the characters say, "Prove it, drop your pants!"
