      Its a complex rhythm really, in that it partially imitates flamenco strumming. Beat one: Thumb on the bass string Followed by index finger sliding down the strings vertically. The slide should end on the start of beat 2. On the end of beat 2 the index finger tugs at the strings from top to bottom. on beat three the thumb hits the bass string (or the contrabass string if you wanna embelish the bass section more) and on beat four the middle finger just strums the chord. I hope i described it correctly

    • @4stevio
      @4stevio 4 года назад +3

      @@4stevio If it works for you, stick at it. For me Ive found I learn better when I combine my natural feeling and understanding of a song (technically speaking) with some kind of accurate articulation of the technique. Just to make sure I dont miss stuff.

    Thank you so much for these wonderful tutorials! You are my favorite Guitar Teacher! I have two different requests. One could you start putting the strumming patterns in either the video or in your comments? On some of your videos I have trouble following the proper strumming pattern. As far as my other request, do you think you could do a few Dave Matthews Band tutorials? I am a giant fan of Dave Matthews and would love to see honestly any of his songs but I'd love to see some of his songs from "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King," 'Jimi thing' from "Under the Table and Dreaming" or really just any of his songs popular or not. Thank you again for these amazing tutorials! They are absolutely fantastic! You are a Great Teacher!

    Man! You literally took a song that sounded nightmarishly difficult, and you made that seem like a piece of cake!! Great job.
    P.S, some little request. What about making Deep Purple tutorials. Ritchie Blackmore is a great guitarist, inspiration for many generations of musicians. Songs like Soldier Of Fortune, are great for practicing chords. Specially for beginners, because it's easy, sort, but with lots of chords.

    Great Inspiration and tasty tasty tone. The double stop tip is so solid. I kept using your lesson to try and improvise a solo over. I'm so into this right now. Can't wait for part two !

    Thanks for the vid. Have been playing for 3 years now and I could play it as you taught it in real time with your explanations. Just keep naming notes and chords for us - great - then easy to find if we get stuck. Of course, nowhere near natural like you - but just getting through it is like a major epiphany /revelation.

    I learned this song from a book years ago. What I played sounded ok, but nothing like the record. I developed my own rhythm for playing this which sounds ok, but I can't seem to get the rhythm that you are playing. It is really cool that now after watching this I am finally working out how to do the fill in parts. However I have a long way to go before I sound as good as you. Thanks

    Hi Marty!!! Me here! :) There are manny good guitar tutorials and "online" teachers how ever since I started learning from online Videos you are somehow the most confortable to learn with, thank you for that... Hopfully some cool band pick you-up like Bon Jovi had picked up Phil X from RUclips :))))) (I know they did not pick him actually like that but its funny and the "hope dies last" :)))) )
