Since the last Guardian Robot project, we've gotten a number of requests to add a servo and LED to the head - In this project, we'll show you how to do that!
Mounted to the eye is a 10mm blue LED. The head itself is attached to a servo horn and mounted to a micro servo. The head can freely rotate while the eye blink randomly. Surrounding the body are 5mm blue LEDs that illuminate the various surface details.
The random motion of the servo and eye blinks give the illusion of the robot "searching". It's appears quite organic and live like, adding much more dimension to this replica.

People are scared of the guardians? I'm more terrified of lynels than I am of guardians. Guardians are so easy to parry, it's almost sad... I hunt them after every blood moon, so I almost feel bad for them. lol

Wow, that's a lot of work but it really paid off in the end. It'd be interesting to try sticking some thick solid core wire in the legs to support them and get it to stand up!
I thought it'd be cool if instead of a blue light he had a red laser pointer, maybe if it was a tad bigger you could have some kind of motion censor tracking for the head to. But still an amazing job.

It targets you with a red laser, which is what I was implying, and it'd be impossible to put a red laser pointer inside a circle of blue led lights due to the size. Also, I own the game and have 60+ hours in it. I know what the guardians look like, thanks.

Now simply remove the big LED and replace it with a timed 2 watt blue laser, unless you want to go big, than give it a 5 watt laser with 50 mw red for aiming, more motors for the legs, and then it will be something to avoid :P
Also you would need a battery with more capacitance for the laser...
twice the size and from metal parts, and with that laser.... it will cost a fortune but heck even i would buy one eventhough i usually dont get stuff like these

I added a sensor that turns on when something is in range and added two lasers:
First laser is harmless just to show where it is looking at then it would switch to the second laser which is basically a fire starter to make it sort of like the one in game.

Yes, but it's going to get pretty complicated pretty fast. You need something like a Raspberry Pi to do the video processing to track people. You could put the camera elsewhere in the head, with some hidden hole that it looks out, and only need the laser and LED to light up the eye. Ideally, to get the laser to move up and down (rather than fixed at a particular angle), you'd need another servo for it. You could also have it connect to your Bluetooth speakers and start up the terrifying piano music when it sees someone.
I'm more interested in getting one of them to walk.

Man, replacing the LED in the head with a laser diode and marketing this as a Zelda BotW themed cat toy would probably work pretty well. Plus the ad could have a kitten playing with it while dressed up like a little Link. Million dollar idea... or at least a hundred dollar idea.
