JohnVH Life I put in the Fortin EVO-ONE and it shuts down both with remote and brake. The brake shutdown works only before you turn the key on so really only for when you change your mind I guess and want to shut the car off.
I HAVE A QUESTION I installed a fortin RM 442 on a 2008 Jeep Liberty with extended range Using the remote I am able to start the car and shut the car down with the remote just fine But if I use the remote to start the car and then enter the car and step on the brake without inserting the key it turns off Which is correct However when I now insert the key ( car is off ) and turn the ignition on the car cranks 5 or 6 times before it fully starts This didn’t happen before but it’s happening now Do you have any idea why and what I can do to correct this ?
You can turn off the horn as well. To delete honk press and hold lock for 5 seconds and press the panic button till the car flashs hazzard lights To turn on do the opposite
Hi, i have a 2014 Chrysler 200, pretty much base model. I bought this unit but the 20 pin connector has me very confused because i have no clue what those wires are suppose to be spliced to. It also came with and on off switch and a hood pin connector. Since my car is base do i really need to splice into any wires with the 20 pin connector?
I hope you figured it out. If so can you tell me what wires you hooked up? I have a 2016 Patriot and this same starter. I connected the 2 yellows together per the standalone diagram, and I spliced the purple wire to the green with red stripe. I didn't do anything else. Everything else in the install followed just as it went in the video right to the blinking blue light that turned solid when I pressed the lock button on the key. But it does not start when I press it 3 times.
So I got the fortin evo rs and I’m having trouble figuring the wiring I got some power cause all my lights in dash turned on and my box has all the lights flashing blue organs and red any tips
I hope you got that all figured out. I just did the same thing with my 2016 Patriot. The only word I could figure out from the standalone diagram were to write two yellows together and then one people wire to a green with red stripe wire. I hooked it up no problem and everything goes along just like the video right up until I try to remote start it and then nothing happens. What am I missing?
I've been researching this online and there are an endless number of people stating they did not receive complete instructions for their install. Whether it be the Fortin troubleshooting forums, Amazon reviews, Crutchfield, RUclips etc. People are having problems with this everywhere. I'm wondering where you went for exact information to make the install straightforward.
evo all mainly for automatic transmission regular gas. and i think evo one is more for manuals and disels trucks. evo one has higher voltage circuit stufff idk to be honest 😂
Hello there .. I need help plz I bought this from Amazon .. evo chrt 5 for jeep wrangler 2014. I am following whatever there in the video but when I come to the programming part .. sold blue light stays on and never blinks. I just want u to know that no thinking is concected to the biggest wire harness. It says this harness for lights and indicator lights and I don't need them .. plz reply to me as I am crying to get remote start my car. Thanks in advance.
Great tutorial ... thanks I just got a 2015 Patriot and thinking about getting this evo -chrt5... looks easy to install... 1)it looks like it needs to flashed from the vendor for the specific vehicle that it will be installed on? 2) is it also a security alarm system? 3) my 2014 Wrangler with the factory remote start does not 'grind the starter' when the ignition is turned all the way forward...that is the starting procedure... you mentioned with this system that you turn the key to the accessory spot only and not full ignition or else it will grind the starter ... is this how the evo works? Thanks in advance
1) Im sure they do something, this was made to fit on my vehicle 2) No, this is just a remote start that works with the factory key 3) Ive never tested this, but if your rig is already running, dont try to start it again.
Thats to much Horn. I hope they have changed that. I ordered one for a 2019 GMC Canyon. Lets see how noisy it is.. It suppose to be 100% Plug and play. No flashing or anything. Just connect and program.....
If it helps anyone for this model specifically (jeeps with that same key) you can easily disable the lock honk function. With the car unlocked, hold down the lock button on the fob between 4 to 10 seconds. While holding down the lock button for at least 4 seconds, press and hold the panic button while still holding down the lock button. Release both buttons and you should be set.
Can you program a different fob to it so that the vehicles can still start for vehicles with manual locks and windows to be specific?
No clue. Sorry
I think hitting the brake also shuts it off for other vehicles so I assume yours is the same. Thanks for sharing.
Maybe, but Im thinking not on this one, I know my F150 factory one only shuts down via the remote too though.

Does remote start works for 2005 Jeep Liberty too?
Why is mine lights just red and don't chnage?
How long does it take the lights to turn to solid blue?? I keep holding the botton down and never goes to solid blue
Does the engine auto shut off after 10 or 15 minutes?
Yes it does
@@Davidsmithisyourdad Installed it last week in my CX-9. I set for 15 minutes.

The manual mine came with was great. Plus I used RUclips videos to help.
Dose this work for a 2005 Chevy avalanche
How far away can you start your car before there is an issue? Don’t really want to buy a antenna if it’s sufficient to start from inside house, ect.
I never tested the full range, but it works off your factory remote, so however far away your remote works is your range.

Curious how it is holding up after a year?
Working great! We sold the car a couple months ago. But it was working great when we sold it.
