Here's how to play 'Spirit In The Sky', as featured on the Guardians Of The Galaxy soundtrack.
Those of you doing the beginners course should check out the easy 3 chord version from around the 6 minute mark in the video below.Have a go at either playing and singing this song just strumming on the beat, or try joining into the record when the verse starts! you can always play a simple A major chord instead of playing the riff.

From the beginning you have always gotten the count in and give not only what it should sound like but what it should Not sound like and for a woman like me who started at 53 not having a clue what I was doing you always make it easy to understand and give the options for playing depending on where we are in our musical learning journey and for that Andy I totally appreciate what an Amazing teacher you really are 👍❤️😎 I’m 4 years into it now and still a slow learner but Love playing Guitar and I started on an Acoustic and have now gotten an Electric and I still come to you for lessons because your teaching style is AWESOME ❤️🎸😎👍
I'm on my second day of guitar learning, just seeing what I'll try to aim for in the foreseeable future. I think this one will take me some weeks, but it's a very cool song to learn.

Love this! I took my boys to see the movie, and I was like '..I have this on cd if you want to listen to it...oh, and this track..' 😂 the look they shot me; priceless! I've been listening to a lot of hits from this era (Spirit of Woodstock cd) while renovating our garden, and there's some real gems.. As its raining, I feel I owe it to myself to nail this ✊ thank you again for a great tutorial and taste in music 😎
Yes finally a song I can play after a month of learning the 3 chords and trying to switch between them quickly, hope to be able to play this soon

You almost have it correct. When you go to the E chord, it does not resolve on the downbeat as you are playing it. It stays on the E for 2 beats and resolves to the A on beat 3. This is not what seems natural, but it is what is correct. You are doing it correct some of the times and incorrect other times.

SOOOOOO This song was written by a man of Jewish descent in the 1960s, popularized by a drag queen in the 1980s, and currently recontextualized for the soundtrack of a superhero movie. Worship music? I am not sure if the titular spirit in the sky is irony or capitalism.
