Hey Luke nice video, that Jetty can provide some great fish during the right tides and winds. I'd recommend going to North Mole if your staying in Perth for much longer as I lost a 70-80cm pinky there the other night and with all this rain and wind picking up, would be the best time to go. Around sunsets your best option and if you can get a spot on the right side of the lighthouse you'll have a great chance!!
Hey bro , I’d love to see you have a small rod with light line (6lb) and run a very small hook maybe size 8 and you will be able to constantly catch fish while you are out at these spots . You can also keep a bigger bait out whilst you are fishing on your smaller rod .

Bring a small 1-2kg rod with a small hook and local bait to catch all the bait fish like whiting, gar and trumpy then can use some of them for your big live bait rod. Better than getting nothing!

You should definitely go to Rockingham Jetty the fishing there is amazing and when the water is clear you can see so many species of fish ranging from different sizes and baitfish, the people there are also very nice and helpful with people ranging from young kids to adults. You can even catch tailor right by the jetty if u just drop a pilchard down all the way to the bottom, trust me I know this from experience, but it only happened once so yeah.

Luke the human interaction is good and all but if you want to catch fish you need to fish somewhere with way less people fishing and you’ll have better luck

I'm from the far North.
I visited Perth for the first time nearly 10 years ago to drive a car down for someone who was moving back there.
The first time I ever caught a train was in Perth.
We only have buses here. You can't just bring your bike on the bus and ride it home later instead of catching the bus again like I even saw people doing on the trains on the East Coast, too.
I guess we're still too small for trains up here yet, but man, we're missing out 😅
Fishing here is still good, though. I've seen your other videos in croc country, you know how it is. Gotta watch out for the crocs!
For real! If it weren't for some guys in a boat in the creek, we would have jumped straight onto a croc that was lazing on the bank.
We couldn't see it from our vantage point where we were standing on the edge of a sandy ledge of the bank.
The guys in the boat saw us about to jump and yelled at us,telling us not to because there was a big croc right there!

For the squidding try getting some small 1.5-2.0 size jigs and if the water is deep ish use them on a paternoster rig. I like the yamashita in full pink full orange full white or black

Plus try take a fillet of a Live bait
Here in Trinidad and Tobago we roasted bonito or fried them but mostly roasted.

Hi Luke, if i knew you were down at Ammo Jetty i would have come down to say hi and wet a line with you. Im only 10 mins away. Perhaps anothet time. Im also originally from Melb, moved the family over last year.
