Fucking facts man. I remember playing this in 2004. Before the 2nd classes came. Just staying in Prontera or Izlude to listen to the music.
I understand removing the merchant class since automated vending is so much more convenient, but removing the thief class feels too much. There probably won't be guild wars like from the original so rogues won't be as prevalent, but assassins are hella fun to play in a PVE setting

My childhood lived with RO. Jumping from servers to servers during secondary-school years. I'm pleased to see this game again.

Ah Ragnarok the good old game that I loved and played way back. This looks interesting and might give a try
The lack of thief and merchant in the starting jobs is a little...jarring.
I feel like none of the newer Ragnarok games have properly captured the essence of everything that made the original good, but that could just be a product of the series trying to "modernize" over the years.
This talks to you more about how the original Ragnarok was a product of it's era, it helped a lot in the past since most modern MMORPG took something from it to his gameplay/mechanics, but can't be properly modernized because most of which makes it great is just no longer the same in modern times
The jarring part is moving Crusader to the Acolyte tree, and downgrading Ranger and Paladin to 2-2 classes.

As soon as I heard auto combat and auto questing, I am out.
Games with such usually don't put effort on the writing or story or even the gameplay since most of players won't be there to read it or do it anyway. I play to play, not to watch.
Also, the reason you play MMORPGs is to have interaction so if they are automated, you are better of with offline games.
ya i never understood the lure of all these auto games....last thing i want to do is watch a game play itself. seems to me its always a gimmick to bypass building systems in order to save money...idk crazy

Worth it
When I realized Merchant class wasn't available my heart sunk! I wanted to play as one to Kart Revolution everyone away with my 8000wt kart! 😢 I guess I'll go back to being an Asura Strike Monk? haha Guild Wars was so cool! Just listening to the Prontera theme transported me back in time... gosh these onion cutting ninjas at back at it again! :')
Not gonna lie, I missed the typical opening music. However, that OG Ragnarok login screen music almost made me cry. Now I need Alde Baran

As for the new game itself, the viewing angle reminds me a lot of the fan-made beatemup Ragnarok Battle Offline XD
The login music brings me back :') Shame the removed the merchant class, my fav class was the alchemist.
The surface, its bright...
But when you get any deeper, its getting dark, and darker...

Loved Ragnarok online when i was growing up but the game design and mechanics have never change through the years. It's stuck in the early 2000s. It's not even because they want to retain the "classic" look. Gravity just became a lazy cash grab company and ruined the game

my first RO experience was on the PSVita, I loved it. I'm soooooo tempted to try this out, but I have a fear of all games online service because they generally fail within 2 years and your experiences are now dead harder than great grandpa.
The game looks really cute but thats about it it gets to a complete hault at lvl 50 pretty much because when you actually wanna start crafting it limits your inventory and the items you can hold you can't even access storage and its limited until lvl 65 and not even on the kafra but in housing. Everything can be automated you can purchase play time for money. You can buy diamonds which is the casshop currency. Currently i hold around 500 diamonds at lvl 50 that i got from some achievements but if you were to buy every basic storage upgrade and buy 7200 diamonds with 80 dollars (which is a one time purchase). Then if you want to buy more you have to pay 80 dollars for 4320 diamonds. There are the following upgrades each costing around 2500 "maxed out Character Slot Expansion, Sturdy Bag, Enchanted Backpack, Strudy Crate (spelled wrong in game), Masterwork Strongbox" you have to pay 12500 diamonds so in order to buy every upgrade you have to pay 240 dollar and you have 3340 diamonds to spare. You can buy a reward pass which gives you a miniscule 500 stamina per day, which is around half your stamina you get every day. It gives you a whopping 20 diamonds per day for completing a challenge. Also a play pass where you can do more dungeons daily challenges and board quests costing 9 dollars. All this monetization is crazy and makes me angry that my childhood game is getting that awful cashgrab immoral treatment. Also this game isn't an mmo anymore it's just a gacha/mobile game. The fact they removed Thief and Assassin and Merchant speaks for itself. They also renamed every class in the most awful manner Impossible. Also my estimate is based on if you purchase the most expensive package it would cost alot more if you just buy bit by bit. Basically pay pay pay until you can't anymore really disappointing.
Just reminds me of what MapleStory tried to do with MapleStory 2, which didn't end very well at least in the US.
MapleStory 2 isn't an auto play mobile game...

Maaan this is so different from playing the original RO MMO. Its good that they recognise that the game is still alive but its quite the painful choice whether you choose this or old game as much as I love the old RO (classic, pre renewal or renewal) the old game did have flaws.
I feel like this game will most likely lack the social aspect which was what made RO for me, meeting random people and just talking. On the other hand the old game has so many broken mechanics which is a part of the reason why private servers flourished imo because of the custom features + fixes.
I like how they use the old BGM though, that one is a great plus.

As I see the Auto button it's an Auto-Skip for me.
Killing a milion poring REQUIRED 2 milion clicks, it is not something that gets done by itself.
Dropping a card REQUIRED either extreme luck or luck + time + effort or endless time and effort.
Is it not available on android in some part of Asia yet?
Well not release in aisa yet.. but as og ro the state of current ro games(especially) mobiles drown with gacha is demotivating.. really hope they balances it in this games

Ro Origin (yes thats the name) is better, it is closed version to the original ragnarok online.
dam, the music is so nostalgic. i played ragnarok online for 12 years, i loved it. was on eu server. shout out to my former guild members from fallen angelz/hopeful angelz, LTU and rock'n'roll!

I played ragnarok back in college and in 2019. The jobs are nice. But the grind is mind numbing.
Wish this was an actual review... The game looks interesting but I don't want to download it just to be surprised by a lot of problems that weren't mentioned. I'd feel safer downloading it aware of it's shortcomings

not being another fail for this franchise. .what i want just a 2.5/3D style of OG Ragnarok with "okay" monetization.
*for this one. .PvP with Gacha system Card, P2Wall would quiet high.
I'm sure there are private servers of the og ragnarok out there like there are countless private servers of wow. Although I haven't played the og ragnarok, if it's available now I would totally play it.

The only good thing to come out of the Ragnarok franchise was Ragnarok Battle Offline, not only because it's a great game but because they couldn't ruin it with p2w mechanics
Im not a fan of these types of mmorpg because i like more freedom to my adventure rather than linear. I hope anyone who enjoys games like these have fun.

I was really craving some rpg games for a while, I even replayed some old classics like path of exile, exiled kingdoms and diavolo 2.

Claims to "have many a faint memory of slaughtering countless Porings ...", and yet has "never seen a fried egg wielding a frying pan before".
This instantly killed your credibility, as Magnolias have been a staple Ragnarok enemy since the very beginning.
playing it right now and its very limiting. At 50s, i can slowly feel the "routine" in most mobile mmos. You consume your stamina during an afk grind, do your daily task and then logout and wait for reset to do it all over again. The game does not give me any reason to stay on as soon my stamina hits 0 as no exp is given to anything you kill at that point - its a very disappointing system.
I don't understand why gravity keeps on making new ragnarok games when they can overhaul the classic RO and release it on multiple platform

I can't get into this game because of their design choice. Knowing how anime games can look like with Genshin, these other games make it feel like cheaping out.

But imho, RO-Mobile Eternal Love would look far better graphicly and cooler than this one.
Sadly, it's quite P2W-ish if you want to put both feet into.
But if you just want to just feel the nostalgic feeling, then by all means its still enjoyable without spending much or anything.
I dunno how I got hooked into Ragnarok. This side scrolling game is like a children's book... with violence... and killer bunnies. Perfect for bedtime!
everyone knows the swordsman class is always broken in all the ragnarok titles
If you want a game like this but more fleshed out check out Toram Online. Beware though it is a grind fest. You will be grinding everyday. But its still a good experience.

I've been there trying Ragnarok Franchise games and I see this as a P2W game. The last time I've played has a huge gap of F2P to P2W and by that, the P2W Dominates the game and is not fun to play as F2P or Low Spender. The game will not be F2P friendly IMO.

I rather play the ragnarok classic than this. you know why people play ragnarok those early days not because of the design but the pvp massive war(WOE) and free trade todays all mmorpg don't have that anymore they will force you to buy real cash for the crappy perks items. I rather played genshin impact a real open world game and f2p friendly too...
