once in a public lobby as a greenbeard I played a haz 4 with someone who was level 1000+ and when the mission went very south due to a surprise bulk detonator at a very bad time, the two other teammates left, leaving only the veteran and myself. They clutched insanely hard several times, rescuing me and completing objectives, all while saying "nbd, we boogie"
Getting carried by greybeards early on is a huge part of why I fell in love with the game. I was inspired to get to their level so I could do the same for new greenbeards in the future. And lucky for me, "getting to their level" meant playing this amazing game all the time. :D Rock and stone!
I'm glad to help greenbeards on higher or even lower difficulties. I'm graybeard but not as old as that 1000+ guy, I have only 600 lvl. I have a good story to tell. Once in a mission I played as driller and had a team of greenbeards. They kept very good on 4 hazard. But when 3 of us made to the drop pod at the end, last engi was lost and said "just leave me". That's like a summon spell for me. I checked that 2 guys stayed at the drop pod and immediately typed " Never" and went drilling the hard rock on the way for him. I revived him and watched his back on the way to the drop pod. He thanked me in the space rig for saving him. And I answered that I hope he will do the same for other dwarves in the future and after typing "leave no one behind" left. I love these moments so much! ❤
I love 400 morkite complexity-3 length-3 missions❤ They have one of the most insane ane beautiful cave generations in the game. Like in hollow bough or deep biozone
About the music in the game, it's the nephew of one of the developer who did it. At first they refuse to hire him because they didn't wanted to hire family into the company. The nephew just said: "fuck it I will force them to hire me by making a banger." Guess what, it just worked.
“You’re the guy who will most likely never run out of ammunition” about gunner is funny to me considering I went through about 250% of my ammo on an escort mission today and got 300 kills as gunner
Mt favourite thing about this game is that, while 1 of each class is the most efficient and makes missions much easier, nothing ia stopping you from rocking 4 of 1 class and still finding synergy with the amount of loadout and Overclock variety
going 4 drillers and making your own cave system going 4 scouts and not even bothering about obstacles going 4 engineers and making a kaizo parkour course going 4 gunners and making the glyphids jealous at the web of ziplines
honestly, the most fun i have had is same role lobbies - especially engineers. there was a match where all four of us were placing platforms in a giant circle with connecting bridges working together in the caretaker boss room, it was pretty cool to be apart of with complete randoms.
I found a gold chunk in the vault room on a mining mission. Playing with randoms, I began walking it up to the drop room, because there were two mushrooms in there. And they all knew it. Zip lines, platforms, and tunnels we all laid down to get that nugget up there so we could have our naughty laser pointer orgy before calling the drop pod. That is the polar opposite of toxic. Also, in a random Geology Reddit they posted a picture of a cave in Mexico that looks like the salt pigs. My post “This is worthless” was upvoted straight to the top of the pile.
The perfect game formula: -good characters with personalities - everything you do feels like it has weight - entertaining to both watch and play - has attention to detail - doesn't want it's players to suffer if they don't like challenges - isn't predatory in it's monetization. - customization is very good and allows communities to thrive - has offline and online modes, both different experiences - ingame content isn't boring (or there are above 7 variations of content you can experience)
+ Actually listens to the community, for example, one of their cosmetic packs wasn’t received well on Twitter, so in 2 weeks they re-did all the cosmetics, then put the old versions of it in the base game so anyone that did like the old versions could still get them
3:23 this is still a really good idea because shield generator gives you increased shield regen, making him virtually invincible to the plasma cutters even though they go through shield
What I think is amazing about this game is that it takes the best qualities from every game genre and combines them all flawlessly. It’s wonderful that it can give anyone coming from any genre of video game background an amazing 10/10 experience
One piece of advice I must give is DO NOT try to solo a dreadnought or any other boss level enemy (maaaaayybe aside from bet-c) as a scout if you’re playing with a team. You are going to eat ammo faster than Patrick Star eating a chocolate bar and if you go down during one of these fights everyone is gonna hate you for forcing the team to basically pull off a rescue mission for some doofus who got downed half a mile away that now can’t help with the boss they just sent after them.
FYI supercooled chambers overclock for the M1000 will take down dreads in about 10 focus shots. You have about 70 ammo so at 20-30 ammo per dread you almost never have to resupply. Just take gas recycling or cryo minelets or some other swarm focused secondary. I especially like taking gas recycling to break the dreads armor so I can hit the weak spots with M1000 + IFG dmg bonus
Even when you're playing with greenbeards after playing for so long, you don't mind it at all, coz they always do something silly and dumb, which is part of the fun in this game.
Deep rock galactic is the only collaborative multiplayer game i know of where someone who is obviously completely new to the game joining fills me with a deep sense of joy, and i delight in showing them as much as i can about the game and helping them on their journey to become a fellow greybeard. I don't know any other game that does that.
Oh yes. Another "welcome to DRG video" 😉 Don't take this the wrong way, I love to see people loving this masterpiece. We as community love the game, the devs love their game, only people who doesn't like DRG are those who don't know about it 😅 Rock! And! Stone!🤘
3:02 As a gunner main. YOU WILL RUN OUT OF AMMUNITION! Yes. Even tho you carry an entire ammo depot amountns of things that can kill anything on yourself, on higher hazards (4 or 5) YOU WILL run out of ammo. Perhaps several times. I got an autocannon filled with neurotoxins and GOOD GOD THERE`S SO MUCH MORE BUGS THAN I HAVE AMMO!
I would say Driller is the most greenbeard friendly class. Not that I want Greenbeards playing it and running wild with C4. But all of his weapons and gadgets are easy to grasp and are effective the sec you do something with them. Engi is a more stationary gameplay at the start. The Warthog and Grenande launcher have a higher learning curve to be effevtive. The Turrets are sometimes a chore for new players to maintain and the plattform gun shines in combination with scout teamwork. Don't get me wrong Engi is my fav class and it is arguably the most powerfull and most effective class in the game. But for a Greenbeard it is a dull class to start with imo. And it is more of a backbone class in haz1-4 then gunner. Bc you're the key point to reach material and ways higher up. So when you are the only engi in a game as a greenbeard it becomes also frustrating for you and your team if you don't understand the role you are playing. Driller on the other hand does his thing, digs shortcuts for himself and benefits with that also his team. It is a more egoistic playstyle for sure, but you can't rlly do something wrong if you don't touch that C4 and blow your team up
Tbh if you're a good pro epic gamer scout you can get most minerals with no need for platforms, ofcourse it's nicer for gold to have a platform, but nitra can be stood on 95% of the time, with some rare terrain bugs that insta kill you by flinging you. The main mechanic for getting everything is just power attacking a wall while moving into it with your camera around 90° vertically looking straight.
The key is to split into two teams, hack the pods simultaneously and then have the driller drill above the thing and satchel charge the shield phase away in 2 seconds each. 45 minute mission now less than 20. 😊. Try it. Pretty fun.

6:47 driller's weakness against heavy single targets is why I prefer burning hell hellfire gunner. basically driller, but way more overly-aggressive(aka fun) due to the shorter flame range, and with none of that silly lack of single target damage! notably less effective at longer ranges though.
I like how we both got corrupted by league then switched to drg and got addicted to that, except I got back into league tryharding my ass to get to master so I get corrupted again and excited for season 4.
Unlike league or overwatch, whenever I log off the game I don't feel like shit after forcing myself to play with four random goons. With DRG I'm actually excited to play with fellow dwarfs. Rock and Stone!
I would argue that scout, driller, and gunner are more beginner friendly. They all have very straightforward weapons, and easy to understand traversal tools that have obvious rewards for practicing them. Scout's grapple allows you to kite safely, driller's drills allow you to create pathways when the map gen is a little confusing, and gunner's zipline can be a lifesaver to avoid bugs. Engineer isn't difficult, per se, but it will feel weaker if you aren't using turrets and platforms effectively. Engineer's primary and secondary weapons also play off each other much differently than the other classes. HONESTLY, once you have played for a while, you'll inevitably play with all the classes, so don't worry about which one you start with too much, just switch around until you feel comfortable with the rest of the game's mechanics, maps, and missions.
3:24 I'm pretty sure they don't go through the shield actually, the issue is the shield was on top of the omen so they were spawning inside of the shield.
As far as I'm concerned, DRG combat miners are equivalent to oil rig workers. Extremely well-paid for blue collar workers due to how rare people who have what it takes are.
a little fun fact the music composer for this game was actually his very first work making music for a game. Correct me if I'm wrong but I do belive the composer behind the songs in DRG is also related to one of the lead devs who was pestered by him so long that he gave in allowing to make the music for DRG.
As much as i love this game, it isnt perfect. Right now there are still things I can nit pick over like how long and boring it can be to build pipelines, and almost the entire perk system, but despite not being perfect its probably the best coop shooter to exist.

Don’t trust him the troll pfp lies. As with everything (except explosive armour break mods, they’re arguably useless) it’s up to how you play. “Gigachad zero ammo efficiency scout” by lazymaybe is a good showcase of this. Everything can be useful.
