Looks like the new buildings are screening the iconic power plant off, both from rail and the river. If the apartments are sold mainly for investment and not habitation it’s real waste.
From the rail, definitely, but from the river definitely not.
You guys are my new favourite channel to watch!
Woohoo!! Thank you SO much! We love our viewers ✊️✊️✊️🙏👍👍😉
Love these videos. Thank you.
Stop supporting shitty development
Keep up the good work lads.
Seriously, I just can't stop thinking about "Dogs" by Pink Floyd when looking at Battersea
Why do they build structures that encloses the power station if it’s so iconic? Compare with the new US embassy and its surroundings....
Was there any local Londoners input. Looks like a corporate blueprint with a any city in the USA look. Always liked Frank Lloyd Wright viewpoint about organic from the ground up. Looks like a continued brutalist thingy . hope the end result blows us a way and I am proven Wrong.
Sad that the east wall was knocked down.
Another great asset lost to the glass-houses, just like St.Pancras
Dj Trainspotter I disagree the st Pancras redevelopment looks great
put a shopping centre and cinemas and other stuff inside the the plant
That's all they had to do to keep it's iconic identity nothing else built around it.
I hope with all the construction going on around it, they are not neglecting BPS itself. It seems that attention to reverse the years of neglect should be paramount to save this iconic building from further decay, otherwise history could repeat itself, big plans, failure, and nothing done to preserve this beautiful building, followed by more years of neglect and further decay until it becomes unsalvageable. I agree that buildings around it, detracts from the building itself, it would have been better to use just BPS with open space around it, but at least this way it will not be destined for the wrecking ball.
are these going to be council flats ???
Some of them will be affordable housing: batterseapowerstation.co.uk/news/article/affordable-housing-statement
This massive glassy body with the anonymous planes of repeating windows looks out of proportion. I don‘t see much soul in those polygonal buildings which are set around the station. Nothing that screams London when you see the courtyards. Its too generic.
Battersea Power Station Development Company are destroying Chelsea Bridge Wharf. Their traffic along Sopwith Way, a 5mph service road, is now at 2-300 a day and most of it is doing 30-40mph, sometimes more. They are currently running an empty bus round Chelsea Bridge Wharf every 10 minutes form 8am to 10pm . I have videoed this bus at speed of up to 50 . Berkeley Homes own this private road and gave access to Batters Power Station Development Company without consulting residents.
Thanks for your comment. This issue has been taken up with the relevant authorities. Official complaints have been lodged with Battersea Power Station Development Company , our local MP and Councillors and yes it has been widely posted on social media. If it doesn't effect you, you can ignore it - but I post things that I consider relevant and which effect residents where I live - you post what interests you. Have a good evening cbwra.wordpress.com/
are you against the building of Chelsea new football stadium ???
dude. couldn't have said it better myself.
Unaffordable housing. Lovely.
Why completely hide Battersea with these monstrosities around it ..spoiled it for ever.
Yes of course,I want all landmarks fully locked at another country over the world BcOz I very dying now n a lot brokenhearted, okey understood!!!!?????🤴🏻🔒🌍💯☑
Another iconic structure lost to cheep condo developers what a shame
Well, it's better than not having the power station at all due to decay crumbling the structure down.
Animals Reimagined
They ruined it.
Malaysia 🇲🇾 buy it, maybe new goverment will sell it because new goverment fail in economy 😭.
What' with the glass buildings all over the city? some, ok. but it's a bit boring when you turn nearly all into glass. jesus, some variety please.
Never move to Toronto you'll hate it there XD
@@Insomniac_tv Yea but I bet toronto isn't as cloudy as london. one of the reasons it will look meh is because grey clouds are common place.
@@terminalfrost3645 Nah our weather is shit to XD
pigs on the wing
justiciero123 That’s what I was thinking
Pigs on the wing 2
If you didn't care what happened to me.
Have they finished the Dildo.. I mean, the Tulip, yet?
Does anyone get the feeling that foreign developers are intentionally trying to make London as ridiculous looking as possible.
Nope
Yes they ruin my city of Toronto with cheep condos everywhere ruining our skyline it's a real shame and a big problem.
Serves Londoners right for being apathetic towards properly developing the city.
