There is a video that shows you . The lock switch on inside is for at night a burglar can’t pick the lock . The outside the switch is if your outside working you don’t lock yourself out check out the you tube video for this lock
The button on the outside (not the inside), I believe is meant to act as a mislock button so that you don't accidentally lock the door while you don't have access to your keys. For example, I step outside to put the garbage out and don't have my keys. While going out, I accidentally engage the twist lock function. In this scenario, without keys, I have no way to get back in. With the button engaged, it prevents the twist lock function so that scenario doesn't happen.
Good review. Also the button on the inside could be use to enable the lock to act as a night latch so to speak. For example when that button on the inside is engaged there is no way you could pick or bump that lock. This would be great on a back door that is normally out of sight for it gives it a little bit extra security for that reason.
I've got one of those. Mine had a quarter moon style key that could not be duplicated, good they now offer schlage and kwikset. Anyone unfamiliar with this lock could be in real trouble during a fire.
Pretty interesting lock. So correct me if I’m wrong but if you engage the inside safety button, will that disable the key override on the outside if it’s locked? I’m just wondering if that safety button can be used to prevent use of a key allowing someone to lock a person out that has the key. That’s how the old master lock “night watch” deadbolts used to be. It was what made them pick/ bump resistant. It also made it a booger to get in during a lockout if the key was lost because picking or drilling the keyway still wouldn’t open the lock due to the inside thumbturn night watch button being engaged. I’m all cool with Chinese products if they’re quality and not copies of others patented products. I like to see new innovative stuff and the residential market could use new ideas. Brinks had the “push pull rotate” knobs which were interesting concept but just never really took off in my area. They were kinda ugly imo. Thanks for sharing!
Wouldn't that "child safety" button effectively make the lock pick proof? For instance it doesn't matter if the lock is picked since the cylinder wont turn?

This lock should be illegal in the US.
