How to start using OrBit software from installation to making configuration changes on your Volvo or Polestar car. Visit www.spaycetech.com for more information about OrBit.
Hello, I’m really interested in Orbit! Does it come with a function to reconfigure the size of the digital driver’s display? I currently have an 8” display and I’ve sourced a 12.3” from an XC60. Hoping your software can help! :)
Hi Andrew, I am Nhan from Vietnam. My car is XC60 B6 Ultimate MY2023. This is a issue with my car when there is no google map imbeded and integrated into DIM or CDS but using via apple car play. whether Orbit software is able to settle this issue? Looking forward to getting your feedback! Thank you so much.
Hi there, It is not easy to understand if a VIDA log is "a must" before trying to retrieve a CEM PIN by DiY way. Also if Orbit is free for diagnostic and paid for Flashing only? My son processed with for payment as seems the software won't open without an active email account?
I hava a Volvo S60 2019 want to use only for upgrading from hk to bw speakers and need to change 028 RADIO, AMP AND SPEAKER setting which orbit version do I need to purchase ?
Is there upcoming support for resetting VCM? Mine is not responding, having issues with WiFi/GPS. Volvo tech said its a common issue for V90s, standard procedure is replacing the ecu with new one for 1500$... Zzz. Would be nice to be able to reflash a used one.
Hi Andrew, very helpful video. I have following questions. 1. Can you make the daytime running lights stay on even when the light stalk (switch) is in the off position to comply with Canadian law? 2. Since Volvo has remote start feature but from the app, is it possible to have it remote start from the key fob too? Thanks
Yes sir I there is a light setting for what I call "Canada mode" where the DRL will stay on all the time. Remote start is not supported from the fob. There are hardware devices that can enable that. The car must have "remote start from app" config enabled to use those devices, if a car does not have that config, OrBit can change that.
Do we need the etherbet to obd cable or does Mongoose Super J cables work? I've got a 2017 v90 and I use vdash to read dyc's but I want to recieve the CEM pin & do some programming like turning off seatbelt warning, enable video in motion etc.
Hi! I am not sure if the Super J supports DoIP, but the DoIP interface is what must be used, the OBD port is adapted to an RJ-45 ethernet network cable/jack. For Volvo it is called "VOE". The interface cable is very inexpensive to buy. Any cable that is advertised as compatible for "BMW ENET" will also work with the Volvo.
I really need your help please i have a technical question.. I recently purchased a used polestar 2 and I only got the big key not the small one and I didn't know 2 keys came with the car. I called the previous owner and he lost the key. I really don't want to purchase a new key but I want to reset the system and remove his account. Can orbit be helpful here to remove the previous owner without the small key ?
Hi Andrew! First of all thank you for OrBit, you are genius! Could you please provide more information on "ECU Tools"? Is it possible to read and flash a new file for remapping purposes?
Good questions. The ECU flashing capability is being improved in OrBIt over time. It's functional for basic flashing for most ECUs in the car and uses standard VBF file input. I am enabling ECUs as they are validated for successful flashing. The capability to read (upload) and save data from ECUs into VBF files is there as well. For now, the user must supply the SBL and the software needed to flash a specific ECU. Some limitations in the ECUs exist: not all ECUs support upload (reading data) or the SBLs available don't support it, or security access restricts what memory can be read. Some ECUs, like the ECM (engine control) have further security using signed code and encryption keys. I think that is what you are asking about. Currently OrBit does not support flashing the ECM. The SPA/CMA ECMs either need some "patching" out of the car (pre-2019), or they cannot be "patched" at all (2019-up) to enable loading 3rd party software like tune/remap. Support could be added, the demand is low currently for ECM flashing due to the lack of capability to circumvent the security features.
Hi, you can use OrBit in any ignition position/mode. OrBit will change the mode when required for any procedure. You do not need to set the mode, but you can if you like, set the mode manually for diagnostics. To do that, set to "Active" mode, which is achieved by twisting the ignition knob and holding for 5-10 sec with foot off the brake pedal. EV models without the knob have a different procedure, there is more detail in a forums post (forums.spaycetech.com/showthread.php?tid=8) The only mode you do not usually want to connect to the car with OrBit is "driving" mode, which is engine running with ICE or "ready to drive" in PHEV/EV. There is no problem to connect, but OrBit will not change modes automatically from "driving" mode for safety reasons. You would only do this in certain cases such as monitoring 360 camera calibration status.
The two tools are comparable. Both do Volvo config. They do work a little different so that makes some specific differences. The biggest difference is pricing model, OrBit is licensed for a VIN, for config you can change anything you like as often as you like once licensed. Due to the way OrBit works some previously "impossible" config settings are possible like enable "Stop/Start" function memory on Sensus car in any market worldwide. Lastly the config and restore process is simple, important for setting the car to "original" for dealer visits. OrBit never needs a backup, any configs changed can be wiped with one button flash to "Restore OEM" at any time. There is more beyond config, diagnostics and flashing ECU functions. too much to get into. VDash is fine software, just a different philosophy on how to do things ;-)
What if we get this: Finding all ECUs alive...please be patient! ECU profile update FAILED! Error Reason: Error CEM not responding! Try resetting the CEM with OrBit or by disconnecting the battery OrBit Disconnected How can this be sorted?
OrBIt can change regional settings in the car, like varous display units metric vs imperial. Regional differences in mobile networks and SIM for connecting online services with Volvo cloud are out of reach.
Yes. You can disable start/stop feature totally, or enable the start/stop setting "memory" for the Sensus cars that have the button in Sensus to turn off start/stop.
@@up_indust cool. perfect job. my friend in Lithuania in garaze overhauling Volvo cars from USA, he can do the same but he want to remove my CEm and disamble Start stop, but i dont want remove CEM from the car :) better like you do
ECU Tools currently has: Hard reset, Read DID (with diagnostic database of known fields), ECU flashing for some ECUs with user provided software files, and for more advanced users you can send raw UDS commands (session and security access level can be user specified)
Got a V90 a few months ago. First Volvo I've owned and this has me very exited. Thank you!!
WoW well done... Everyone was waiting for this!!
Brilliant ! Thanks for doing this. 👍👌
Wow. This is amazing. I need to explorer your website!
Amazing work. Good on you.
Would you have a list of what is available to change on each car?
I'm interested in what can be done on the Polestar 2
Feature question: Is there a way to make the 360 view the default for reversing, like it is in Canada on a US 2018 xc90 T8?
Is suspension height for air suspension, adjustable through OrBit? Or is VITA a better choice? Thanks for your help, vehicle is 19’ Volvo T8 phev.

Does adding the polestar options actually do anything for performance?

Can you recommend any particular FOB? Also for this what subscription will I need to buy? Anyway to get a lifetime license for one VIN?

How long it needs to retrive the pin for the cem? On spa?
Edit: got it in 1 day (it was a weekend, so normally faster)
Also, can it be done without having a VIDA log?
Can you turn off the auto stop start features on the 24?

Either I missed it - it waht key position do you perform all those actions? Does the case engine is on? Is it the first or second position of the key?
