Really love this car especially this update, willing to get one. A quick question if I don’t want to plug my phone in the car which seems a bit dumb.. I only connects with Bluetooth, what do I get? Can I listen to music from my phone to car normally? If I use navigation will it show up on the car screen or only on phone screen and voice from car. Thanks

BUT: if you use Spotify, SoundCloud, google maps or Waze, there are native apps within the Volvo system that you can log into and use. It’s really only if you want apple car play, Apple Maps that you must plug in your phone. Audio sounds from Apple Maps/ any maps on your phone really, will still play over Bluetooth though.

The sensus infotainment was much more better than this google system - this is in fact a nightmare and makes the car as cheap like a Skoda . Now Volvo realizing that it was wrong decision and coming with every update back to sensus . The pilot assist shows this for example . Furthermore they canceled ( probably due to cost reasons ) the drive mode wheel . ANd that was for me reason enough to buy NO new Xc90 .
At least you get full screen Carplay and they will eventually mirror Sensus. For us with Sensus the dream of full screen Apple Carplay or better yet Android Auto is DEAD. We haven't had an update since September 2023. Patience for you guys will pay off. We got what we got.
Having CarPlay in the dash and full screen CarPlay and never having to use the built in system is better Let tech companies do what they do because they do it better
At Volvo Dealership. For those with issues with the orange key, Dealer confirmed they can turn the key into an “ordinary” key (by removing restrictions). Thank you for the PS update about the key, I’d have been screwed as that’s my primary key!
Hi and thanks for the very interesting video. I have a S60 2023 and the LTE connection is very instable, ok it could be the GSM coverage, but the real problem is that, when there is not LTE signal, the system does not find any wifi networks and after a while GPS lost the position, it is incredible and get me crazy!!. The only stable connection is Bluetooth thetering but is slow!!...do you have any clue on what i can do to solve? I have already reset the system, the modem and the connections(wifi, Bluetooth). I did investigate those devices that work as a wireless-to-cabled hub, but introducing lag and taking some of the already small storage available (it’s one of the surprising cons of the XC60: such a roomy interior but with such poor storage 😣). As for an out-of-the-box wireless CarPlay support, everything I’ve read points to a mere software upgrade from the provider (Volvo)… so I really hope they do implement it somewhere in time 🙂

@Robin-sf3gk absolutely not true at all. The google systems didn’t start coming untill after 2020, and even after 2021 for most models. Those all still had the Sensus systems
@@Allcarnews Oh, i just realised that they released these models with Sensus and brought Android without a facelift. I think that disqualifies Volvo for me because they published a VMax in the same year. Very unsatisfiying on german roads.
It should work if you have the new google system. If not then you cannot get this update. I believe only the B5 and B6 and new Recharge powertrains have the google infotainment

Software is not possible and i don’t believe a screen transplant works either. It’s not just the infotainment but the whole vehicle systems are reworked around the new google system from the digital dash, climate controls, voice controls and OTA software updates and lots more
All models with the google system should be getting the upgrade! You can go to the volvo website and select your model and it will tell you the list of updates avaliable. You can also do this in your vehicle through settings, software update and check for updates.
They should make it so that it displays the 360 on infotainment while showing backup or front camera, depending on vehicle moving direction, on the instrument cluster

He doesn’t need to talk slower, you can simply slow the playback speed of the video, and slow it for your own private viewing pleasure. You know how to do that no? 😊 click on the settings icon on the top right hand of the video then down on the menu on playback
The new system is too dumbed down. Became the typical NPC car. The switch between pilot and cc was on 2017 models. No mode wheel. Very sad. Hope they get sensus back again.
I’ve said this before, if the Goggle system is better than Car Play then we would defer to it. But give the customer the choice instead of shoving Goggle down our throats line GM is doing

Unfortunately i don’t believe so. this may be coming in a later update. i know the 2.9 allows for phone calls to display on those screens

Unfortunately not. I believe that car has the older Sensus infotainment system. This update is for the newer Google based system.

That’s for the 48v battery charge status. In my time of owning it it never decreased at all so it was largely irrelevant.

Wasn't CarPlay supposed to be wireless? Or this wired now because the native system in the Volvo is Android Auto? It's so confusing.
Unfortunately wireless carplay is only coming on the EX30 and EX90 and future products
