I lost faith in Samsung since the s20 ultra but the Note here overall shoots the better photo in most cases, And given the iPhone is quite painful to download the photos I would take the note 20 any day. Great vid. Thx 👍🏼

Interesting in a lot of the photos iPhone looked a bit saturated, and Samsung looks truer to life. Hmmm How times have changed now 🤔

Someone who actually calls out the iPhone on their saturated photos. Every reviewer tends to state Samsung in 2020/21 has the more saturated image when it simply isn't true.
The Note20U improved alot after the one Ui 3.0 update.
Oh good, I wasn't the only one who thought that the Note 20 ultra improved after the update. I had no issues with the phone before the update anyway but certainly improved on it.

Are the colors natural?, I love Samsung phones, but sometimes I do feel the colors in the pictures are not that natural

@@CashCollecta hey, thanks. Actually I've got the S22 Ultra and the camera quality is insane.. they've made something about colors, which improved the quality, plus, the screen is great.
My takeaway is,
both smartphones are great at day time photography and videography..
Note 20 ultra - For photography day and night (wide, ultra wide and zoom)
Night mode selfies.
iPhone 12 pro max - For night videography.
For day and specially night portraits.
For me Note 20 ultra is the all-round winner.
if Samsung brings a mode for night time videography that would be a killer feature.

Photos on the iPhone capture way more detailed the note looks a bit too over processed for me
Both has great cameras both I think Samsung has great night mode shots... I love the shadow details... Great comparison

I have Note 20 Ultra and 12 Pro because of my work. They are both great phones and it is really hard to decide which is the best.
@@sungminlee4491 I'm using the Note 20 Ultra as well but my biggest feature on it is the Higher refreshrate, I was coming from the S10+ and I just couldn't get my head around how smooth this phone is.

there's no perfect camera smartphone... That's for sure...Other factors may influence your decision... for example s-pen..
I'll take the Notes night mode for photos any day. I'd rather have no light flares over a bit of noise (when zoomed at that) in background dark areas. They both are really awesome in most scenarios.
I've seen reviews where the exynos version is better in terms of the camera, would be interesting to see Snapdragon versus exynos versus iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Samsung 8k iphone 4k, both barely different but samsung gonna have a good year this year with people having interest with samsung
8K is mainly for the sake of having 8K, you give up a bit to get that, and it still didn't end up being any better than 4K

that said imma be switching from a galaxy S8 to an iPhone 12 Pro Max this year, i've been using android since my first smartphone and I think it's about time for that change - opinions?
Same here, you won't regret it one bit, I switched from a S10+ and the reliability and consistency with the iPhone is what got me. Battery life is insane, I get 11-13 hours SOT using WiFi and with my screen on most of the day, I don't think I'm going back to Android (though, there are some things that need improvement like the widgets, the gallery is a mess because the pics you take go all in one "Recents" album, and the settings for each app are in the system Settings) I would say iOS sometimes prioritizes visually perfect aesthetics over functionality. Also, the haptics and the overall feel of the phone in the hand are on a whole new level (but very heavy if you use a thick case), I'm really impressed considering I've been an Android fanboy my whole life lmao

in some photos you tried to favor the i phone, shooting some bad photos from note 20 ultra, i have both, but samsung note 20 ultra has many good things
Instead of spending millions of dollars on R&D of cameras section at Samsung or Apple, these companies should just watch your videos and take notes.
Cut R&D budget and then try to lowering the phone price.And watching tech reviewers opinion & feedbacks👏👏👏👏👏

Both are amazing, the camera wars are finally over 🙌
It'll never be over, you know what people are like. For me, Pixel is still the best, but you can't complain about any of them really.

Danny, could you please revisit iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 14.3? I think 12 Pro got some fuel too with that update.
I choose the Note 20 Ultra. I never shoot videos, so to me the photos from the Note looks better
Aside from MrWhoseTheBoss, Danny's camera testing is my favorite. The full capacity and ability of a smartphone camera is tested and well-explained. You can really see how unbiased he is even in the way he explained. I can say that he is a photographer because when you look at the images, it was really taken properly. One of the greatest, Mr. Danny!💖💖💖

I love my iPhone 12 Pro Max 512 GB in pacific blue ; and for my birthday last week somebody bought me the iPhone 12 Pro Max and silver 256 GB so now I have two of them ; I use it every day for my job ; with lidar and AR together from my job for interior decorating I’ve been doing this for 25 years now and my productivity levels have already came out on top ! And I have more free time ; as a interior decorator and it’s a godsend ; and I don’t have to carry my iPad Pro around anymore from last year with the it’s lidar scanner !

The note only has up to 50x zoom not 100
For me the 20 Ultra has the better cam. More natural, better portrait, better zoom, better frontcam.
iPhone is beginning to be over processed where it's really noticeable on certain photos.
After you took the Note 9 to Disney and got Mickey's signature... I'd go with the note. Both are great cameras! I love that I get to use quality modern tech to capture family memories.

After owning samsungs as my previous phone, I can confirm that iPhone tends to saturate the photo more than usual. I can say almost as saturated as the S10.
Well..i do own now a 12 pro max, and was impressed by the main and zoom sensors, but the ultrawide still leaves to be desired cause it does cause way noisier pictures. Nightmode isnt perfect always either, lots of noisy pictures even when being completely still. But the biggest gripe was how small of a difference it was compared to my two year old 300 euro Honor 10, in id say 40 percent of cases i would have prefered the Honors pictures. Mainly because of its amazing edge detection and that its able to focus on small objects and i can get really close by with it. The iphone just cant take pictures of small things, it just wont focus near enough. I have to be at least a metre away for it to work properly, that was quite a letdown. Video wise, its nice and smooth and i can already imagine creating music videos and stuff with it. Only gripes are the HDR, which is still flickering slightly and throwing the white balance all over and the small juddering of the sensor when being in a darker situation with quite bad noise tbh. Overall im happy with the phone, design is spot on and the feel of it but sadly im surprised how similar in everyday situations it is to a regular cheap android. Its pretty much the same performance wise in regular use, its camera is similar in quality even and to be fair, i dont notice a huge difference when using one or the other which is a good thing but also bad. I wouldnt say its worth all that money, but it is a reliable and easy to use phone.
Slowly iPhone camera lost itself in my opinion. The natural quality we used to see on iPhones, the biggest thing most of us loved is slowly gone. Loved how just iPhone used to make me feel like I was back to the scene where the picture was taken. Now that doesn't happen anymore.
The night mode from my s10 with the gcam looks better than both those phones lol

Great cameras, personally I have the 12 pro max, but cameras are all amazing this time around, the pixel 5/4a camera aswell
I still don't like the orange tinge on people's skin that the iphone produces but it can be adjusted post-editing. I think both are good to be honest.
They both have their uses! Also, they as time goes on, smart phone cameras will be better.

Great vid. I’m rocking the 12 pro max now and it’s a good phone but I was having android withdrawals (mainly the higher refresh rate and uncluttered Home Screen 😂). Picking the s21 ultra up on Friday. Can’t wait!

Excellent objective comparison. In good light they are almost identical, in low light it's personal preference. It really comes down to if you want better video and portraits (iPhone) or better zoom and features (Note20 Ultra).

Samsung Note 20 Ultra's score in Dxomark is just 117, which is very undeserving. The S20 Ultra (Exynos) has a score of 126 and as far as I know Note series is improved and redefined versions of S series, so how can it be lower than the S20 Ultra? The Note 20 Ultra can even beat by a big margin and match Iphone 12 Pro Max with a score of 132. I think I will just rely on camera tests on youtube these days specially if it comes from Mr. Danny. I think they should retest?🤔

Great comparison 👍 I seem to get a lot of lense flair on the iPhone in sunny situations where as my pixel barely get any. Both great however.
Interesting comparison. I've been contemplating switching to iPhone 12 pro max after having Samsung for 9 years now (eldest daughter had just got one). Its a shame the ghosting/lens flare is a lot more pronounced on the iPhone at night/low light compared to Samsung as it's definitely a put off especially in some of the other iPhone pro max videos I've seen. Be interesting to see if this can be toned down somehow in a future ios update our by using some sort of lens covers..
Looking forward to the release of the s21ultra and a comparison between that and the 12 pro max. My upgrade isn't due till March so I've a while to make my mind up. All the best mate 👍🏼

I always adjust exposure comp to bring details back in the highlights on the note and it doesn't really effect the shadows in the right hands both phones are excellent. Samsung need to hire the people at nikon to do there image processing because this is whats holding their hardware back.

man I im a Samsung fan but for a minute I thought the iPhone photos were the samsung's. It looked oversaturated and way too sharpened that it looked artificial in most scenes to me. I hope this is coming from RUclips because it clear Danny seem to see something different. the iPhone has the Samsung beat hands-down for night portrait. Video is close but iPhone win. but the Samsung win in all other scenarios for me.

After the updates, do the color science and shutter speed improve? Im between Note 20 Ultra and S21 Ultra... if it is only the telephoto cameras and the macro ultra wide, I’d go with the Note for the S Pen, but if the photos are actually better in the S21 than it would be a different story
