That would be nice, but probably not the best for the company if they allow you to keep it for life. Think about them allowing you to put it in every successive car you own for the next 20 years or so. Maybe they charge a fee to transfer it? Maybe allow one transfer?
That's the only way it would make sense to me. I believe the current batch of cars will be obsolete before full self driving is actually working and approved for use.
@@scotttisdale2773 I'm not sure if one would be the right number, but can see that limiting the number of transfers would be reasonable. Can also go along with a nominal transfer fee.
Elon is someone to aspire to, According to analyst, the higher stock price is somewhat self-fulfilling to (Tesla's) growth potential and that was made possible by Tesla's investments in the stock market, I’m right behind him on the “ROAD TO TRILLION"
I started investing in stocks a little while ago and I've come to realize nothing beats first hand experience, investing with Sayward Chandra Pratt has been a wonderful experience.
@@billmichael3567 I am a newbie. How do i get in touch with Sayward? I really need to start investing because this past year has taught me to never rely on one source of income
Just a small quibble. It isn’t a higher packing density at all. The total amount of space between batteries didn’t change. What changed is the volume of the shells of the batteries. That volume massively decreased. And with the massive decrease in electricity converted to heat when charging and discharging cells, I assume they’ve reduced the amount of space reserved for cooling equipment. Also they added 15% in the height.
Thank you for bringing up the talk on FSD. I've been wondering why no one had talked about it. I have been thinking of buying FSD but had wanted to first know if I could transfer it to the next Tesla I buy in couple of years. Emailed Tesla about it but they did not respond. They definitely need to make it transferrable for those continuing on with a Tesla as their next car too. Otherwise, subscription would work better. FSD price could be in tens of thousands in a few years and not affordable if they don't allow the package to be transferred to the next vehicle.
I would like to add to your going green list for viewers to consider switching to a home heat pump when they decide to change out of their old oil or gas furnace. Especially if they have or plan to go solar.
Just put in a pre-order with Aptera using your referral code, thank you for coverage so far 💪 The chances of them arriving to my Southeast Asia country in 2years is near zero, but I gotta put my money where my mouth is, so they give consideration at least while they are still building up their company 💪💪
Obviously watched this episode from start to finish just like every other episode 💁🏼♀️ I seriously loved the story about the guy who volunteered to help deliver Teslas. Everything about that was just exciting and sweet and smart. I would have been so much more excited if I got to have a Tesla-owner-volunteer walk me through my new vehicle pickup :)
I made it to end of your clip today and was entertained by it as I always am. Favorite part... well, two parts of the show... . well, okay - the top 3 moments were: 1) Hearing story about young lady from Illinois (with picture) getting die-cast Tesla and her dad volunteering to steward 35 cars in dealership. I'm from Illiinois and immediately started pricing Tesla I'll be getting in next 11 weeks or so. 2) I liked your promotion of after-market products for Tesla. Today, you mentioned wheels but in the past you mention other modifications. I wish you'd give it one more second because I missed the name of company.. 3) Always like your skits when you substitute your head or lips onto images... 4) I liked how you're discussing how full self-driving issue was discussed.
regarding Mercedes: I suspect EQA, EQC, EQS relates to their old range of A-, C- and S-class vehicles... It makes also sense since they are still using the fuel platforms as a basis for their EVs.
Model 3 SR+ price didn't go down not even 1 euro in Finland. Maybe some country it went down, but better not to say EU price went down, because not true. Just over 50k euros.
FSD should be a license for 1 person for 1 car. If the person owns 3 cars (for example he bought teslas for a spouse and a kid) he should be able to use it in any of the cars (but not all of them at the same time), and if he wants, he should be able to buy 2 more licenses. How's the idea?
My understanding is that the MCU2 price drop is separate from their MCU1 replacements, they will still do the replacement for free, but if the customer wants to upgrade then the price drop would entice them to consider it.
Whilst I’m not a fan of Mercedes, BMW, or for that matter VW, never underestimate their power! this I think is especially true of V.W. who are a huge very wealthy car manufacturer. Yes they are all playing catch-up but catch-up they will and quicker than a lot of people think.
@@user-RCST I’m not knocking Tesla, indeed I admire Elon for all he’s done for the zero immersion world but Tesla can’t supply all things to all people. As I said there are other companies with very deep pockets that make excellent cars, who will in my opinion catch up very quickly.
the battery pack needs the spaces in between for the foam that is against fire etc.. Munrow forgott that the batterypack needs some fire resitant material.
Great show guys, Just to add What this storage tank would do is bring the waterto your list of what can be done to cut carbon for us. Hot water is the energy pig in all homes north of Dallas lol. but if everybody was able to have a separate water heater tank minus the burner house hold carbon be cut by 50%. By adding this extra tank in before your water heater would allow the ground water to warm up naturally to 70deg from 33deg changing the delta T on every water heater by 37deg would save massive amounts of carbon

Thanks guys - I always watch to the end of the show. I used to 'like' at around 3/4 in or near the end, and only after I was actually glad I watched. But now I found the more I watch the more 'little' things I capture (or don't miss) and it helps round out the experience and my Tesla knowledge. So I 'like' early on!! You guys are awesome!
Any chance for a Now You Know off grid life slot or separate channel? I’d especially like to see how people use their Model X & Y for camping. Later we can add Cyber trucks and, who knows, Semi trucks life. Of course, there’s still Model 3 and perhaps one or two crazies in a Model S!
Just had my 2016 MS eMMC replaced two weeks ago; after a software update a week before it popped up a warning about the "center display storage unit" being degraded and to schedule a service appointment through the app. Did so, and they replaced the daughterboard containing the eMMC for free. From what I've heard it's now a better-quality 64GB chip instead of the old 8GB one.
I’d rather follow me FSD - ie a user buys it and then whatever Tesla they drive it follows then. Rent a car and it’s on there Same with performance upgrades. Yes, I realise this may be more costly for some households unless they already have multiple Tesla’s as each driver will have to subscribe. But how much more convenient and sensible. Follow me FSD, follow me performance upgrade, etc. Borrow a friends Tesla and it’s applied. Would be really cool
The Aptera vehicle is 172 inches long and that trunk space there is roughly half of the vehicle so you're looking at approximately 86 inches or a little over 7 feet of room. That's obviously an estimate based on known overall length and observation of the trunk space.
A useful feature would be a retractable power cable to the trailer and a tesla trailer with its' own power pack and a kit to put into specially built custom trailers so that they can use the hitch and cable for things like horse floats and larger trailers
Agreed on the MCU. That issue has really frosted me due to the huge number of failures I've had, and even worse, the service center acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. I went to the forums and found out about this issue. The disingenuous behavior of the service center made me quite unhappy. Have a new SW on order, but if it has anything like the interior that Elektrek posted I will cancel and look at true premium vehicles such as Lucid. On the climate change, I highly recommend reading the Princeton study. It helps put everything in the correct perspective, i.e. there are no easy ways out of this.
As a Gen1 2016 Model X owner, I still feel like I was screwed over when three months after receiving my MX, they updated the sensor package and the MCU HW. They don't give you an option to upgrade the sensor suite and charged the MCU upgrade way too high. It's great that they dropped the MCU cost but we all know that they wouldn't have done this if the govt wasn't putting pressure on them. You're correct that I would definitely want to replace my X with a newer one but after my first experience, I probably won't. Love the car but I feel like they abandoned their early adopters now that they don't need them anymore.

Those oil rigs are to be converted into launch platforms. He bought them for a tiny fraction of their initial cost and is spending millions on refurbishing them. It's already underway.
I made it to the end of the show. This is the first one I have seen by your YT Channel. I was not necessarily interested in all your content, but more interested in the Title af this particular show and Elon and buying oil rigs. You covered many other details, such Elon also producing natural gas, and company policy problems related to self-driving licenses (SDL) and a customer loosing his SDL when trading-in and having to pay for it again if he bought new vehicle. An hour is long, but I made it to the end as I did my chores. I subscribed because I am a nerd (PhD) and I like technical details and I especially liked the banter between the two of view as you presented the facts and discussed from different viewpoints. Was refreshing compared to the majority of one-person YT channels and hence I subscribed. Good job. One question, do you have a script or just general notes of what subject matter you will be covering?
I’m a 497x$TSLA shareholder in the UK. I’ve just ordered 2x PowerWalls & been told I won’t get them until August... AUGUST! What gives? Battery production constraints?
To have a drone to land on oil platform is larger area and bigger zone for landing pad and it has cranes etc and so forth.. The barge is fine but can not handle heavy sea.
hiya fellas :-) got my tesla wall charger installed. YAAAAYYY. "Tessie" loves it. (our model Y)... so does my wife. thanks for your channel. we really love Tessie & tesla solar / power wall.
It seems more like the structural part of the battery rather than coolant. Elon did say a battery day that the battery would be part of the structure and that would need to be that part. That is if you're cooling it on top and bottom you would need the middle part to be the structure. We'll find out eventually though (probably once Giga Berlin is producing vehicles, and someone does a teardown)
Base Taycan with a few upgrades like the bit bigger battery is 100k Euros in Germany. And it's the same speed as a base Model 3? thats so ridiculous :D Taycans are overpried like all Porsches, but if you want one, you want one
Simple FSD stays tied to the car, to transfer it, pay a FSD Transfer Fee $4k or something like that or aa reduced or discounted price for FSD if they buy FSD within 3 months of buying the new car if they were a prior FSD customer.
I believe the x or s type, had a double rear bumper ,a inner bumper a safety crush zone for rear 7 seat passengers, does the Y ? ,is Mercedes doing a German electric gate on there charging lol .
When it comes to Tesla it seems like people forget that it’s the most valuable car company in the world by a long shot for a reason. They didn’t get there by being nice and holding everyone’s hand. Innovation has its sacrifices, and the quality of your car may be included(excluding safety because nobody beats Tesla in safety).
How many 4680 cells are required for the long range version of the Tesla Semi? Partial answer is much longer range due to higher capacity and possibly lighter weight. Once the 4680 production is up to speed then you will start seeing Tesla Semi,s in service but don’t expect to see the Semi at your nearby Tesla service shop. Most trucking companies have shops at individual terminals so I would expect Tesla technicians to service them there plus help train their mechanics.
In regards to producing its own methane from a natural gas well, owning their own means they can make sure there’s no leakage or loss of methane to the air, whereas an oil&gas company will not waste any money trying to prevent minor leaks
This is very interesting with transfer or not of FSD. I have my own situation with the looming MCU recall as my 2013 MS MCU bricked last march and I had to pay to have it replaced, I did not know there was an upgrade available, so it was sent to Freemont to be re-chipped. It has a three year warranty and will eventually cycle out, but was the same price as the now discounted upgrade.
Im in Lafayette La and a few days ago I saw a SpaceX Rocket in the parking lot off the Interstate 10 Ambassador Caffery Exit. I have a photo but cant post it here which is lame
Germany here, there one mistake you made: The Model 3 Costs 39.990€ BUT there is already 3.000€ from the dealer removed. So you get just 6.000€ back after you bought the car. This means the cheapest Model 3 you can get is 35.950€ handling fee included. This is the Cheapest Tesla you can buy in all of Europe. There are two reasons: 1. Most people even can't afford a 35.000€ car here because of the amount of our taxes and the low payments. 2. Our media told a long time so much bad things about BEV which the most Germans still believe and now don't want to buy these cars at all.
Going green, also add: Travel less, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, do fasting a few days month, get geothermal, buy locally sourced foods, insulate your home, ride-share, get Tesla HVAC once it's for sale :)
Forbes article in 2018. The US has reduced carbon dioxide emissions more than any other country. That was after leaving the Paris Accord. I don’t agree with the Paris Accord. I don’t agree with the government telling me you have to do this and we are going to tax you to death. If people would stop complaining about the issue and actually doing something about it, we wouldn’t need all this nonsense. Regardless, we will still need fossil fuels to some extent. How much so is up to all of us. Yes, I have solar and do everything I can, and look for new opportunities every day.
Not only older Model S have screens blacking out, my 2020 LR+ blacked out 2 times (once on a freeway!) and the computer slows down sometimes! Hope you guys investigate more... Also problems of Phantom braking!
Easy answer to FSD would be to make it pay per mile, tap the stalk and your account gets charged as it does for supercharging, think how addictive that could become :).
Oh, oh oh! So, I have a question and I'm not a scientist, but rather going with simple logic here. What happens if we remove way over the amount of the 15-18 Gigatons of greenhouse gas emissions, missing that sweet spot of 2 degrees Celcius? Let's say we remove 35-45 Gigatons. Does that mean we start to plunge into another ice age? And if so, do we just start pumping greenhouse gases again to get back to that 2 degrees celsius sweet spot again?
There are some reasonable use cases for fossil fuels, like rockets (and right now, airplanes). As long as we remove the carbon from the atmosphere (balance the carbon cycle) it's okay. Some things it's just easier to not emit in the first place like energy, cars, manufacturing but some applications require very high energy to weight ratios. The whole greenhouse gas emissions crisis is a problem of balancing in versus out. It's okay people! :)
I like the MoreTesla feature. I put my request for Tesla to offer silver cars again. I am planning on buying a Silver Tesla X with 4680 batteries to pull my Silver Airstream.
Transferable features have never been offered before because the car you buy has a menu of features to offer to you. What you are talking about is (or possibly) will be offered is definitely something new sales feature wise. Correct.
License transfer would be great. You buy your car and if four years later you change to a new tesla as the FSD locked you in to keep you a tesla customer. The new buyer get a four year car and can order subscription, or try it out and locks himself in buying the transferrable FSD. Sounds good to me.
I can't help but think when everyone was asking will the model S move to the 2170's and Elon said no, there is no plan to use 2170's. It all makes sense now with the 4680. He knows what we don't, Tesla's future plans.
As a future owner of a Cyber Truck, I am wondering how well FSD will handle towing a trailer. The dynamics involved will be interesting, given the physics involved. Growing up on a farm, I have lots of experience pulling large loads, (and also backing a trailer up), and can imagine this will be a separate knowledge domain for FSD to master.
Our food and oil are linked 3 ways: 1. Agricultural chemicals made from oil and gas that enhance food production x 3. 2. Farm machinery is powered by diesel (oil). 3. Transport to our local shops is also powered by diesel. An oil crisis means a food crisis. Currently USA can buy oil with printed Dollars. China is buying assets globally including oil fields. Eventually China and Russia will get control of the oil . If they decide to demand gold for oil America will have major dramas. Regards Gray Australia
Nice video, but some comments: 1. Don't miss the "e" in Porsche. It's not "Porsh", but pronounced like "Por-shuh". 2. Mercedes nomenclation in most cases is logical. The higher the letter, the higher the model. EV models start with EQ. So EQA is the equivalent of the A class. 3. 47k € are not $46k, but more than $56k. But not sure about Mercedes' price politics in the different regions. But yes, Tesla is ahead of the other EVs. Maybe years... Quality wise on the other hand, there's still room for improvement.
Elon's answer to the bottleneck question at the 6min mark is actually the centerpiece of why Tesla is such a powerhouse, by saying the bottleneck is constantly changing just shows how constantly innovative they are and how everything in a constant state of improvement, it feels so obvious that of course that is how it should be but how many companies can you think of that ACTUALLY are doing that.
The speed increase in the degradation would only act like that if you used 100% of the charge everyday. The buffer is more important for not charging to 100% instead of fully charging and not the battery.
In reality the most effective way to hide the battery degradation from the user would be an artificial intelligence that I did different for every person and more if you don't fully deplete your battery. Plus you could pretend to have a full charge but after 20% it hides a small emergency few percent.
If I were Tesla, FSD would be tied to owner and would be mileage based: 500k miles of FSD ownership. User could add up to 3 cars under same FSD, and added car could be removed after a month or more. Car driving mileage when in the FSD account would decrement the 500k FSD miles even if user did not engage FSD... This would be easier for families to use same FSD, and also allow easy trade in or change car...
They could generate the methane they need by producing bio gas from compost material, very common already existing technology, and then sell or give back the compost to farmers.
Actually Hawaii on Oahu has a refinery. When it was voted in they were told by building it in the islands it would make fuel comparable to mainland prices. Surprise, surprise fuel prices stayed high. Oops

Now You Know (LETS TURN NOW TO THE 2, MAKE THAT 2, OLD, VERY OLD OFF-SHORE-PRODUCTION-PLATFORMS ELON MUSK BOUGHT FROM VOLARIS-OIL-CORPORATION LAST FEBRUARY.)
SpaceX bought two former Valaris oil rigs to build floating launchpads for its Starship rocket
Elon Musk’s SpaceX bought two deepwater oil rigs last year and is converting them into floating launchpads, to support the enormous Starship rockets that the company is developing.
The rigs are in the Port of Brownsville, near SpaceX’s Starship development facility in Boca Chica, Texas. The rigs have been renamed Deimos and Phobos, presumably in homage to the Martian moons. Starship is the enormous rocket that SpaceX is developing to meet Musk’s goal of launching cargo and as many as 100 people at a time on missions to the moon and Mars.
The rocket is SpaceX’s top priority, with SpaceX flying its most recent prototype to its highest altitude yet during a test flight in December. The Starship prototype launched to about 40,000 feet and completed several development objectives, despite exploding on impact when it attempted to land.
Public records show that Valaris’ “ultra-deepwater semi-submersible” oil rigs 8500 and 8501 were sold for $3.5 million each. Valaris, headquartered in Houston, Texas, and the world’s largest owner of offshore oil rigs, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August as it sought to lighten a heavy debt load.
The pair of rigs was purchased in July 2020 by limited liability corporation Lone Star Mineral Development, according to public records. Lone Star Mineral Development was incorporated in June 2020 and registered in the name of SpaceX CFO Bret Johnsen.
SpaceX has been publicly hiring for offshore operations positions since last year, when the company posted that it was building “a team of engineers and technicians to design and build an operational offshore rocket launch facility.”
Additionally, as of midday Tuesday there were two temporary offshore positions currently available in Brownsville listed on the company’s career website. One of those two positions is for an electrician and asks that candidates be able to “install enhancements and major upgrades to offshore vessel electrical systems.”

For FSD and trade-ins... They should just attach the FSD to your account rather than the car. You can attach it to whatever car you want.
Yes
That would be nice, but probably not the best for the company if they allow you to keep it for life. Think about them allowing you to put it in every successive car you own for the next 20 years or so. Maybe they charge a fee to transfer it? Maybe allow one transfer?
That's the only way it would make sense to me. I believe the current batch of cars will be obsolete before full self driving is actually working and approved for use.
@Jimmy Edward 🤣
@@scotttisdale2773 I'm not sure if one would be the right number, but can see that limiting the number of transfers would be reasonable. Can also go along with a nominal transfer fee.

I made it to end of your clip today and was entertained by it as I always am. Favorite part... well, two parts of the show... . well, okay - the top 3 moments were:
1) Hearing story about young lady from Illinois (with picture) getting die-cast Tesla and her dad volunteering to steward 35 cars in dealership.
Yes made it to the end of the show! Always love you content and your great energy. I love that Hawaii is going to be part of more sustainable energy!
Model 3 SR+ price didn't go down not even 1 euro in Finland. Maybe some country it went down, but better not to say EU price went down, because not true. Just over 50k euros.
Also the UK is much more expensive. Where it is selling well.
Tesla's only getting bigger too and their lead is only getting better.
@@user-RCST I’m not knocking Tesla, indeed I admire Elon for all he’s done for the zero immersion world but Tesla can’t supply all things to all people. As I said there are other companies with very deep pockets that make excellent cars, who will in my opinion catch up very quickly.

From what I've heard it's now a better-quality 64GB chip instead of the old 8GB one.
The solution to FSD dilemma is simple: FSD purchases should be tied to the customer's tesla account.
Agree, I’ve said many times it makes no sense considering it’s not official.
For $10k+ for fsd Tesla can’t have it both ways...must allow fsd to transfer from one vehicle to another with small fee.
Nice idea, a trailer hitch. Hope it includes cable for that extra battery pack on the trailer. Might get a reasonable range.
The Aptera vehicle is 172 inches long and that trunk space there is roughly half of the vehicle so you're looking at approximately 86 inches or a little over 7 feet of room. That's obviously an estimate based on known overall length and observation of the trunk space.
Kiss The Ground is a great Netflix video about carbon capture using agricultural changes. Very inspiring.
I hit the LIKE button during the opening theme.

It's a hybrid sort of script, some bits are written out, sometimes it's broader, quotes obviously are written out. Thank you for subscribing
I am learning more about E. V
'S witch I will buy , later on, by watching, Now You Know ,Thank you..
hiya fellas :-) got my tesla wall charger installed.
6:30 Delay of any process on the Critical Path will cause/add time to completing the project.
like how that thief sign said "theif stuff" !
I’m all for SpaceX drilling for it’s own natgas 😆
I believe the x or s type, had a double rear bumper ,a inner bumper a safety crush zone for rear 7 seat passengers, does the Y ? ,is Mercedes doing a German electric gate on there charging lol .
I made it to end of the show!!!! Congrats guys!!! You are the best!!!
When it comes to Tesla it seems like people forget that it’s the most valuable car company in the world by a long shot for a reason. They didn’t get there by being nice and holding everyone’s hand. Innovation has its sacrifices, and the quality of your car may be included(excluding safety because nobody beats Tesla in safety).
they can charge for FSD usage, if you do not use it, you are not charged. Or you can be charged for miles/km, like 1000 km FSD or something...
Embedded LED flash chips in Tesla windows and windshields should scare or catch thieves...funny too to catch other selfie stuff...
Every engineer on a revolutionary project: it will be super easy, barely an inconvenience 😂
(shout out to my guy Ryan)
Germany here, there one mistake you made:
The Model 3 Costs 39.990€ BUT there is already 3.000€ from the dealer removed. So you get just 6.000€ back after you bought the car. This means the cheapest Model 3 you can get is 35.950€ handling fee included. This is the Cheapest Tesla you can buy in all of Europe.
There are two reasons:
1. Most people even can't afford a 35.000€ car here because of the amount of our taxes and the low payments.
2. Our media told a long time so much bad things about BEV which the most Germans still believe and now don't want to buy these cars at all.
I’m in South Padre Island for SN9. I hope to be able to see the oil rigs!!
Start something and finishing is always the best plan. Thanks!
Hey guys, @20:13 I think you got the values mixed up. The euro is worth more than the dollar.
Did you report that to Tesla and phantom breaking should be fixed with FSD beta when it goes public.
Tesla could get rid of the FSD problem by going fully subscription for the software.
i live on oahu. if i get any more information about vpp and get to see it in action, i will definitely submit it to now you know!
20:13 The €47,540 price for the Mercedes EQA is $57,684. Current exchange rate: €1 = $1.21326
mercedes just need an EQR then they can say they have a fleet of EQ "CARS" ;)
In regards to raffle ad at start, The house is nice and all, but as brought up, it IS in Florida.
Elin should watch this. Great ideas.
You should have compared the Mercedes specs with that of the Arcimoto.
Hey, I really like that you are using chapters now in your video!
Our food and oil are linked 3 ways:

Nice video, but some comments:
Do you think the new pack will be easy to service for cell repair? Or will they replace the whole pack?
Thanks for the great content Zack and Jesse, you guys are awesome.
In the UK model 3 had a tow hitch option from the get go.
Oops
