More informative then most videos out there. Was look for a chart like the one you had on this video for weeeeeks, thank you brothern
Thank you bro! I like to do things sweet, short, and simple. Haha yes this video has been awhile backkkkk.
Super helpful! Loved the ISO chart
Thank you :)
Great video! I am testing the A7S3 for the past 2 weeks and it's really a beast!
Thank you bro It’s an amazing cam for sure!
Hey if it came down to it would you use iso 1600 or 12800?
I only use 640 & 12800! Nd filters should do the trick!
Super useful thanks!
Your welcome! and also thank you! 📷
Thanks for sharing. Sony doesn’t advertise siii has dual ISO but based on the results look like it has.
Exactly what I was looking for thank you
No problem!
Could you do a chart for EVERY picture profile...since they all don't necessarily have the same base ISO and dual native switch point? If you did that and included those pdfs, you would instantly get 6-8K subscribers. Short vid just like this one. It's a hot topic now.
nice tips bro!
Thank You!!!!
But these ISO keep changing constantly. Do you just manually adjust it every time?
If the light doesn’t change drastically. I leave the ISO as is. Either 640 or 12800. But if it does you can either change it to Aperture Mode or Shutter mode. And let the camera decide while filming. Which I do like. I prefer Aperture Mode. Leave the ISO 640 or 12800. Or you can also key frame parts of your shots that are either too bright or too dark while leaving iso as is on post. For the most part though I leave iso as is. Also for this video I don’t over expose by +1.7. I prefer +1.0 now.
❤
But how do you expose if you are outside and film while walking around. And ur multimeter is like really jumping up and down multiple stops all the time? Pls someone help!
That’s when I use shutter or aperture so it changes automatically. I just set it on a Mode.
Hey bro thanks for a video.
How do you check zebra hitting iso before makung exposure settings?
nice, straight forward. thank you
Only one thing I would change is I don’t shoot in +1.7 anymore. I shoot +0.3 to + 0.7 so the highlights are never over anymore!
yeah, thats what I was thinking for my usage. Around +0.5 - +1.0. As there's lot of data in the blacks and shadows anyways. And also, I mostly shoot skiing. Where the highlights would be completely of the charts, so there somewhere on the glacier I might go even lower then that. I have a good ND tho.@@avpfilms27
@@DanielHanka Those are definitely bright scenes .100%. For me if a scene is way too bright, I go on the lower end of the meter. But it Looks like you got this though! That's the way I would do it too.
🇧🇩 Take Love Bro
Thank You 🙏
Great job bro thanks to share it with us 😊😉
No problem bro 😎
Nice Allen! the A7siii is a beast
Thank you and it is for sure 😍
Short and amazing! I have a question, what is a more "proper" way to expose Slog3: by setting Zebras to C2 lower limit 94+, or by setting Zebras to C1 41% and then using a grey card exposing the scene. First one seems easier since you don't have to always check exposure with a grey card, but really what is a correct way? Thank you!
I feel that the grey card is a bit more accurate. But I’m more of a run and gun kinda shooter so I prefer the first way. Sometimes it’s not accurate for example when the sky is super bright. So I go to the extra step of using spot metering and expose for what I want properly exposed. For example skin tones. I just put the spot metering on the skin and expose for that. 1.7.
@@avpfilms27 Thanks, it's helpful now I kinda know how to approach this.
I wondering if you can make a similar type of video for HLG3 settings as well as which profile you would suggest for low light situations! :)
lower limit to 94 and how do u use it? when appear on stop less?
Thank you for making this video. Because I thought I was only me. I avoid 3200 - 10000 also.
Your welcome. Those are the worst iso(s) in my opinion.
How do I manually over expose with the dial, but still want to control my shutter, ISO, and aperture. Seems to only work in priority modes. Also is an ND filter going to be a must in day time, if I want to follow all these rules (180, wide open, base iso)?
For the exposure dial I don't think you can set it when shooting in Manual. I could be wrong though* For the most part most videographers shoot in manual mode. Pretty much all if your in a professional setting. Set your camera to M and you can literally adjust to your hearts content. First and foremost your shutter is always going to be the same. The 180 rule. If I'm shooting in 24 fps I'm shooting in 1/50SS. The next step is F stop do you want a shallow dof or not? F stop is really depending on your taste. And finally ISO since the base ISO is 640 & 12800 I always have my ISO on 640 as a start. Then adjust from there if the situation needs more light then I start bumping up the ISO. I would just stick to Manual mode (M) and not worry about the other modes. If you want more shallow DOF in the day time then 100% yes you will need an ND filter.
How do you "overexpose by 2 stops"?
Look at the meter and once it reaches +2.0 your good!
Thanks for the insight!
Your welcome!
Nice! Gerald Undone's video was so insightful. Looks like you watched it too. 😀
Learned everything from him lol Just a simplified version. And learned what ISOs to use and avoid
And as good as slog 3 is you need to avoid certain ISOs because it is super noisy
@@avpfilms27 yeah for sure. Never understood dual ISO so much until now lol
@@avpfilms27 Love it! Super concise and to the point.
That’s good to hear haha. I’m not much of a talker that’s why I keep things simple and quick lol.
Subscribed because you aren't another video that pretends they are famous talking about their dog when I clicked on a camera tutorial
Thank you like to keep my videos short and straight to the point!
Nice and informative, do you tune down the details (sharpening) in body or in post?
In body always -7 which is I believe is default
@@avpfilms27 thanks for the info 😁, I just got mine A7Siii too recently. Been trying a lots of setting here and there
No problem :) For me s log is the way to go if your in to color grading and want the most dynamic range. But if your not into color grading HLG is the way to go. The 2 best in my opinion
@@avpfilms27 I use HLG2 most of the time with my A6400, now change to A7Siii Slog3 is better. Why not all the way Slog3🤣
Btw Can I know the color space you use is SGamut or SGamut Cine for Slog3?
@@dvshkimsze sgamutcine :) recommended by other youtubers too
Still shadow noise in 640 at lowlight situation ... how can fix it?
Make sure you expose +1.7 to 2.0 and I think that’s also the nature of it too. When I pixel peep there is noise
More please...
Mainly a slog3 shooter! But CINE2 looks pretty amazing my second favorite profile.
what i do with my ISO: set it to auto
That’s a no good for weddings, interviews and anything you want to get paid for. For vlogs yes and that’s pretty much it
A PDF chart would be great. I'd have to create one to tote around on my phone, until I can memorize it.
