Let’s go! Thanks so much for this vid. Got an f1 error and just gone from complete boiler novice to getting it fixed. My water trap was completely full, drained it all and it fired right up again. Mega 👌
Fitted loads of Glow Worm boilers and go back to the to service them, they are all easy to work on, in fact the Energy is the simplest boiler ever, as for the side panel, I never remove it to clean the condense trap, there is a way to get the bottle only out without removing its holder but you do need to put a cloth over the electrical box below it. If the analyser reads are in you don't need to remove that burner and the odds are the boiler won't ever need the the burner off and will see 15 years before being replaced.
Derek, how do you get that prv out? Dont see any clip on top of it to remove. Does that whole unit need to come out to get to replace the prv on this boiler?
Hi Tom. Amazing video, it really helps to understand how the boiler works. I had a problem with PRV and expansion vessel. I replaced them both, the boiler pressure is good now. However, i have noticed that after topping up the pressure to 1bar, on the left hand side you have rubber(? Guessing) hose that runs to the condensation pipe outside the house, is leaking at the top joint. Its like a metal clip. What shall i do with it? No more dripping. But it may come back once again. What can you advise please?
Hi, How do you drain these boilers correctly? I have an f9 fault which comes on multiple times a day and the only way to temporarily resolve is due press reset follow by opening the water inlet valves. I am looking to replace the water pressure sensor as first point of call. Thanks
@ 10:27 Does anyone know where to obtain any of the Orange Rubber Mounts;... part number would be GR8 That has got to be Glow Worms worst design... Of Fan Mounts... Inside the Fan housing there are mounts for Three more rubber mounts But sadly only one is fitted...
Hi pal, great video. We are currently getting F1 on our boiler. I think it may be the ignition as the flame icon keeps flashing on and off a few times them shows F1. Is it easy enough to clean the ignition or do i need a professional to do it?
@tomkatgastraining Many thanks for your quick reply Derek, can you please tell me what pressure it needs to be set at (CX 24). Currentl water pressure set to 1.4 bar It's odd. it seems to drip quite acidic water, is this normal?
Love your videos as always. I'm guessing your not a fan of the Glow-worm? Love to see you service a Vokera and your opinion on them. Thanks again for all your time and effort, it's very much appreciated.
Hi just found out my mum has one of these and its the exact model glow worm flexicom cx 24 was wondering if you can use smart heating controls with this boiler i think her thrermostat is not accurate its very old. maybe i can get someone to fit a smart control like a hive or nest or something else? Just thought i ask before going ahead also she does not have a filter should i get her one? Thanks and great video
Agree with you about being one off worst boilers. Got to watch that sump injection moulding goes on that to then its a whole new h/exc that's fun changing not especially if rear flue and watch for seal round display so many missing
Hi Derek. Love your concise videos. How the hell do i turn on my heating on my flexicom 30, manually? Mine is remotely operated, but its so unpredictable, turning on when it shouldnt. I was going to disable the remote control, and just use the buttons and knobs. Can this be done, Derek? Thanks.
It’s the controls that operate the heating you will have a manual setting on the remote to override the timer you will need to read the instructions for the stat
My daughter has this boiler, HW is fine but no CH, water pressure shows 1.2 bar, there are codes showing 22and 9 but not sure how old those codes are, she did reset the boiler by pressing the reset button, checked code which then read nn, what tests can we carry out and what is the likely cause, thanks
Hi Derek great vid just a heads up I always put a cloth over the sump as easy to drop a nut in there. Oh and do Glow Worm make any good boilers with parts that don't cost the earth? I think not!

Brilliant video, struggled like mad to get the trap off so iv learned something thank you!
If you remove the expansion vessel, can you get to the flow sensor?
Yes Derek you were correct they came with a bung plate on both outlets and you choose which one you wanted

Great video as always. Thanks Derek👍👍👍
I think my diverter valve is stuck is there a way to open the front and check or turn the diverter valve manually to see if it is the diverter valve.
Did you ever find the answer for this?
Iam with you Derek.
Sludge kills them, I love repairs buy bill adds up so much working on them
Them customers decide to replace

hi do you need to cut off main supply in order to take off siphon filter ?
Hi Derek
Is it possible that the red pressure valve (to the right of pump) intermittently leaks in your opinion
Thanks
Norman
Normally a sign of the expansion vessel needs charging

What is the burner and the secondary heat exchanger made from in the flexicom is the burner aluminium and the secondary stainless
On mine the base cover is blocking one of the grey filling loop taps, so I can't get to it...help !
Would u please show how to change the flow sensor. Thanks

Thanks for your video, I know I am not alone
Anyone know what holding "-" does? It starts flashing some numbers, but the instruction booklet doesn't tell you what it means
