Fucking love this song. Had it looping the night before my daughter was born four years ago. It'll always bring me back to that. Such an underrated song. Izzy is great.

Hard to say I think, but Izzy sure lay the very important foundation. But as a great band everyone contributes important parts to the people, wether it be their look, their song writing talents or their solos.
I became a fan of GNR in 1988/89. From the first days on Izzy was my favourite member, because he's the cool guy in the background. I'm still a fan!

The first time I heard this song, it was instantly my favorite. After a while I looked up the lyrics, and read them carefully. I realized that I couldn't think of any songs with deeper and richer lyrics.
The only song I could think of which had similiar lyrical brilliance was Wild Horses from the Rolling Stones

Izzy was the cooles of the Gunners, the only one who didn´t argue about money suing other band members, he only wanted to play musik. Thats why you see him play with Guns n´Roses and Velvet Revolver.

agree wid RideMyBMW , was my biggest musical influence during my teenage years and really appreciate his work. I hate the fact that people tend to underestimate the role of rhythm guitarist but I feel that roking Riff is much more important than a melting solo from a songwriting perspective, my fav gtrsist are :
1. Dave Mustaine
2. Randy Rhodes
3. Izzy Stradlin

@Motorhed95 It's known during a warm up between steven and slash, slash played the scom opening riff as a joke but IZZY asked him to play it again and added in the rythem, and a jam session ensued. Slash was laughing and making faces but IZZY really liked it. Axl heard the session and came into the room and liked what he heard so wrote the lyrics.
