- South West Coast Path Part 1 - Lizard Point to Porthleven
The South West Coast Path is the longest national trail in England, stretching for 630 miles from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset.
In summer 2021, me and Amy walked an 80-mile section of the path in six days, starting in Lizard Point and ending in the coastal town of St Ives. This episode documents our first two days on the path as we walked from Lizard Point to Porthleven. On our first day, we started in Lizard Point, the most southerly point of the UK, and covered seven miles to our first campsite in Mullion. On our second day, we walked ten miles from Mullion to the picturesque fishing village of Porthleven.

Thankyou for this detailed stretch of the coast. We hope to start this year. You seem amazingly fit people. Well done.

A brown snake, I think that was a European Adder/Viper. not shore.
Nice video. What rain jacket did you take,? How did it hold out? What date did you set off?
I took the Berghaus Stormcloud jacket, which was perfect for this trip. Lightweight and very waterproof. We went at the end of July, which is normally quite warm, but we managed to catch a patch of stormy weather.
@@JamesBTravel thanks. Ideal. Happy hiking
Low Bar, where you had the sea on one side and the lake on the other, don’t swim in the sea here, extremely dangerous
I saw the signs, it looked very dangerous!
@@JamesBTravel it’s big time dangerous 👍👍👍
