Hi beautiful lady, I live in Edinburgh and planning to visit Cornwall this summer (July - September) and as you know our visit is at the mercy of the weather! Could you please be kind enough and advise on the best time to visit the best beaches of Cornwall? thanks in advance. Fidel
Hi Fidel, thanks for your message! The weather is so “hit and miss” in Cornwall. But we have found the best times to visit often in September. Sometimes Spring time can be good too. The benefit of going in the shoulder seasons is there are less tourists around as well 😜
@@cjexplores We'll follow your advice and come in first week of September! Where/In what area should we base ourselves for a 5-7 days road trip in a car to visit the best beaches in Cornwall? Thanks
@@Fidel-tk5rq wonderful! Well we would have to be a little biased and say Newquay is a good base. But maybe split your time between Newquay and St Ives to explore as much as you can during that week. I would not agree with St Mawes in top 10 places to visit. St Maves didn't impress me at all when I was there. Neither with Mawgan Porth. But some other of yours are on my to visit list. The Kynance Cove, Pedn Vounder, Bedruthan steps and Lizard Peninsula. I also would like to come back to Port Isaac (I just drove through) and to St Ives (I have seen it partialy) and I liked it.
Good choices. I can understand it is hard to limit it to only 10 😄 I have been to all these destinations but not out on king Arthur's castle and at Nectan's glen - yet. But they are on our bucket list. When staying overnight in Tintagel in 2017, the new bridge wasn't built yet and we had had some hard walking from Crackington Haven to Tintagel in fog and rain and just wanted to relax 😊
Thanks Torunn 😊 near on impossible to keep it to 10 😂 Maybe we should do a rapid fire version too... Top 300 spots in Cornwall in under 2 minutes 😳 The new bridge is simply stunning, it's actually two cantilevered bridges, separated by about 40mm to signify the crossing from the mainland to the island. It's also important to note that at one time, there was a narrow land bridge connecting Tintagel Castle to the mainland but it was washed away somewhere between the 16th-18th centuries. But the bridge is a symbol of that land bridge in a modern and safe format 😉
@@cjexplores thank you for history updates 😄 I didn't know that. When we were there, it was only the smaller bridge under this new one.
