Hi Liam, I was the guy with the 20p, I'll be honest, I thought you were opening a new restaurant 😉 😀 😄
😂❤ love that
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
😅😅😅
You say 182 miles but I think you've done an extra 20 just setting that camera down and having to walk past it a few times haha. Incredible feat & incredible editing mate. Love your content.
And climbing all those ladders to do the arial shots !!
@@katiefincher2433 I don't know, but a lot of drones from DJI have a follow mode (they automatically follow you) or automatic shots (the drone moves in pre programmed paths)

Literally my favourite thing to watch. I loved the lack of music, made it really immersive.
Great video and congrats on the epic walk
100% agree on the style of video, everything else on RUclips seems to sound the same these days.
@@RMBRKFLD yes Motorhoming , it’s exhausting .
It’s refreshing to get the raw sounds only. Total different experience. Doesn’t need a polish or flair at all!
100% agree music in videos takes away from the natural beauty
You could occasionally fade in a map showing where you are and how far we've traveled so we can follow along a bit better, just a thought. It would give the whole thing a more adventurous feeling.
Could you show us an example on any of your videos of what you are suggesting?
@@lioneljonson161 it’s pretty clear what he’s suggesting by how he worded it

He needs to edit his videos better. Great videos though
What a great film. I did this walk in 1987 with my Father . I am now 62 and have just done the Cumbria Way. You have brought back loads of memories brilliant !!!
Nice one roger!
It makes me so happy to hear stories like this. I struggle sometimes, but what motivates me to keep going is the idea of going on long walks like this in the future. Thank you :)
How was the Cumbria Way? I plan on doing this soon.
gowan roger!
I'm 37 and been a walker since 15. Mainly IML marches in various countries but neglected our own fair shores. Now with two young children I look forward to walking with them. Sadly the options are now limited in the UK as much land has been built upon but to escape to this beauty is truly a treat
I saw this video a few weeks after it came out and instantly messaged my friends to do this walk with me. They both dropped out at Grasmere and my Dad came up to finish the walk with me. Was an amazing 2 weeks, so happy I could spend that time with my Dad!
That is a journey and time spent with your dad that will last forever. Awesome job.
Great escapism for all of us living very dull, grey corporate lives Liam- keep up the amazing content.
Nothing stopping you getting outside yourself! The outdoors is free, if you don’t like your job, do something about it
maybe you should do something about your life instead of watching youtube and netflix to escape
@@sonarbuge7958 lmao
@@sonarbuge7958 True lol. People spend so much time indoors watching videos that they could literally be spending outdoors instead.
@@sonarbuge7958 people like you are so annoying
Wonderful! As a 68 year old born again backpacker who has just rediscovered the delight of solo long distance walking I salute you! Can’t wait for next years adventures😁
Unreal mate. Makes me want to quit my 9-5 job and go on these sort of adventures.
Do it lol
Do it
You can just go out from 5pm til 9pm. That's 4hrs so rougly 12 miles should be doable. Most people would be unable to walk constantly outside for more than about 4 hours without a break anyway.
@@engineeringvision9507 nobody has to energy to dick about walking after being in work all day . Thought you had the vision
When you say "grab some popcorn and put your feet up" I can feel my shoulders drop and jaw relax. Thanks so much for your content, man, unironically helping me through one of the toughest periods of my life. If you're reading this Liam, have a lovely day pal.
Aww, honestly hope things get better for you 🫂 Liam is a tonic.
Keep your chin up Tom 👍
I am addicted to Liam’s walks, there is something so soothing and grounded about them. Even though I don’t walk long distances, am unfit and old, I really want to try this sort of hiking and wild camping. In my head I have bought all the gear and I’ve planned a three day trip around a nearby lake at a time when there are no midges because I live in Ireland.
Rolling wave. Do it. Go hiking and enjoy nature. It sure is bliss . You are the age that u think you are. Think yourself young. And get out and enjoy nature while you still can it is a great feeling
@@lionofjudah4114 you are very sweet. Thank you.
@@rollingwave2732 bless. You only the age that u think you are. And Ireland is very nice. I have been to cork and Dublin few yrs back. Loved it. Love the Irish accent.
@@rollingwave2732 can I ask u if u Have any quick remedies to get rid of a cold that has only just come upon me. I will be going on holiday next week n I want this cold gone. I don't drink alcohol.. so that out the question. Anything to get rid of it ASAP
@@lionofjudah4114 I don’t get colds. I think I have had them all by now. The only answer that I can give is to get as much rest as possible. And if you can sleep the more sleep the better. It has to do its thing and go through your body. You don’t want to make it worse so that it turns into something else. Good luck and I hope you have a lovely time.
A lovely video. Did that with my parents back in 1990 when I was 25. Parents are both 86 years old now with disabilities and dementia but that was a reminder of wonderful times. Thank You. It would be great if every young person could do what you have done. A valuable physical and mental experience.
So happy to have found your channel Liam, such refreshing and wholesome content! I love the sense of adventure in every video you make!
This 👏👆
Definitely, what a wholesome endeavour, we need to encourage more young people to Leave no Trace Wildcamp Coast to Coast . A lot of cyclists are doing the same via Gretna , Blanchland , twice Brewed etc .
Exactly! This is what RUclips should be about. Brilliant stuff.
Yo didnt expect u here
Well that was a lovely way to spend 30 mins. Thanks Liam for taking us on your adventures 🙏😊
I did this journey 15 years ago as a 19 year old, still one of my best memories. What a beautiful walk it is! Good on you mate!
I used to chef at that place @ 25:00 for a few years, I actually used to live in that cabin the in background. Its changed hands since then but gotta admit that pizza looks pretty good.
Liam! Backpacking Britain was recommended to me about a month after it came out and man I absolutely loved that video. Thought it would be a one-off sort of thing though, I'm so very glad you've made another, fantastic piece of work my friend, had me smiling the whole way.
Backpacking across Canada maybe perhaps?
the walking to the camera shots never fails to put a smile on my face. i can always see the creator in my mind walking forward, placing a camera down, walking back the way they came to walk back the other way 🤣
Countryside! So beautiful...
Mate your videos genuinely put a smile on my face. They're a great escape from the day to day 9 - 5 lifestyle most of us get caught up in!
Cheers for watching, Chris.
I’ve had the pleasure to guide this hike in its entirety 8 times and walk it once as a photographer. This film perfectly captures the crossing, it’s scenery and spirit. Truly excellent job.
Dude I love your energy and appreciation for life and the simple things. I'm a huge hiker so I feel you!
Greetings from Argentina!
Enjoyed every bloody minute of this.. *sigh*. Miss England.. *so* beautiful thank you!!🥰👍😊
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
Me too!
Thank you for sharing this absolutely gorgeous landscape. The United Kingdom is such a beautiful place!
I did this walk with my two labradors in the spring of 1990 a long time ago
Lucky dogs
I did the St Bees to Shap stretch with my, then, girlfriend back in 2010. I proposed to her just up the hill from where you camped at Ennerdale, a little further up past the Black Sail YHA. It was a real highlight and through all the places I've travelled around the world, I know that this walk will always hold a spot in my 'reel of life' memories :) My daughter is nearly 11 and, whilst my partner probably isn't the shape to be able to do the walk again, I'm hoping I can get my daughter to do the walk with me. I walk her and hour to school and an hour home now and hoping to build that up, she's done a few of the challenging hill/mountain walks in the Peaks/Lakes, so I think she will be ready next summer!
A couple of tricks to keeping kids happy that might help.
Give them the compass and a copy of the map. If they're leading the way, it will be exciting for them. Just double check every now and again.
Give them their own 'responsibilities' in camp. Keeping the porch tidy and puffing up the sleeping bags are good ones.
Nice big carrot for the end of the day. Hot chocolate and biscuits work well.
Keep them dry and keep asking questions about the route. All these help keep my son in the moment and enjoying himself.
I walked with my kids and agree about keeping them warm. Loads of snacks and loads of chat worked for me.
G'day Liam, just watched this video mate. Absolutely beautiful mate.. What a legend that's a huge walk.. I'm actually Welsh 🏴 but have lived in Australia 🇦🇺since i was 8 (53 now) I have been back to the UK a few times over the years last trip August 2017.
My point I'm trying to say here mate is you guys over there have just as many awesome spots to see and visit as we do here in Oz, so keep getting out there and enjoying your awesome country.. You really do have your own little Gem over there. Take care and will look forward to watching more of your great videos 🇦🇺🇦🇺🍻🍻👍
makes you realise how beautiful England really is
100% stuff like this should be shown in schools get younger generation to realise how beautiful our country is. Unfortunately everything about England in the media is about crime in cities, immigration, politicians etc.
“I tell ya what.. these are some of the ugliest sheep I’ve seen in my life” hahahaha this was Gold. Had me in stitches 😂
First time I've come across your channel, really enjoyable content. I'm looking to start walking the great paths of the UK. I lost my leg due to an accident in the army so want to do these to raise money and awareness for the charities that have helped me and so many others. Look forward to watching your others. ✌️
Hop it goes well fr you
@@merfymac if that was a pun, well played… that was masterful
Beautiful land from coast to coast. From an American whose ancestors left from there in the 1600s. Good to see the home country up close and personal.
That's good, without a watch !! The sun is my clock !!
Liam, you inspired me to walk from London to Bristol solo in 4 days, to experience some of what you have in your videos. I also decided to use the walk to raise funds for a charity in South Africa. 7 children are now able to go to school this year with everything they need paid for. Thank you Liam. Love your videos. Keep walking.
Bless you Joshua king. Keep on going. And the lake District is lovely and you really wander if you are in England with the mountains there n lakes etc. We stayed in Penrith one time and another time we camped on a farmer's field. Surrounded by mountains. And another time we stayed near Carmel. There is a famous racecourse there. We crossed it to do a hike what we were doing with our children. Near sawrey is my favourite place in the lakes. You can visit Beatrix potters home that she left to the national trust. It is a museum. It really is amazing. She bought farms and left them all to the national trust in her will. Cos she didn't want anyone building rubbish on the land and keeping it as it is. Beautiful land there in Cumbria
This is amazing, well done you! Brilliant idea and thanks for sharing the idea, hopefully it can spread so that more people do it :)
Well done Liam, great achievement 👍🏻 I did the Pennine way a few years ago from north to south in 11 days....solo. I went through every emotion known to man, I even had a small nervous breakdown on the 7th day, I hadn't seen a single person in 24 hours, it plays on your mind. But I completed it and felt a new man after I recovered. Great video of your journey, keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻
9:55 Yes 👍 Liam Thank you for listening to your real fans hehehe 🤤 You’re bloomin amazing and loved very much for putting out your content. All the best to you and a big fat hug xxxx
Absolutely brilliant video… actually will give Camping a go this summer.
You can’t beat UK for some beautiful scenery 👌👌 .
My wife and I watched the entire episode and loved it! Much better than our American “Appalachian Trail“. New subscriber✅
Hey Liam really enjoying the videos! Just wondering have you considered ever doing the hike to the UKs most remote pub,the old forge, in Scotland? I think it would make a great trip for you and it would be something I’d love to see!
Ohh interesting , will look it up, Tan Hill Inn is very popular with Coast to Coasters / C2C and they sign the Book 📖.
That little stone was the youngest stone in the stone family when he was ripped from his loving family in St Bees and cast into the ocean on the other side of the country!
😂
Brilliant video mate, keep it up!
Northern England is absolutely stunning, despite the deliberate underfunding from Westminster it prevails.
as Someone from Devon I love coming up to Yorkshire or The lake district every year you really are blessed up there!
@@joegilbert3149 love to devon from up north :)
When I first saw 180 miles, I thought....
An average of 3 miles per hour walking speed; that's sixty hours.
Divide that by eight and you get eight 7.5 hour days of walking.
So just over a week (not including breaks of course).
But when you showed the terrain I thought, wow, that's gotta be two weeks walk 'at the least'.
Then you said you were pushing for 20 miles a day; and, considering some of the terrain I thought, " 👀 "
'respect'
Well done. You can honestly say you've walked all over this country. From top to bottom. And now coast to coast. Another great achievement and you've got a bit of colour in your cheeks👍👍
These videos are therapy for me
cracked me up when you got caught in the bog eating your cous cous 🤣🤣🤣
I love your sense of gratitude for e'thing! And the beautiful hiking, of course! 21:49... WOW!

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Beautiful scenery.
Brilliant...I've been really looking forward to this journey.
Brilliant, well done, that’s something I would have liked to have done when much younger, I am an old timer now, but thanks to people like you we are at least able to experience a little of what it was like, thank you Liam. BTW, Whitby Fish and Chips are the best, and I say that as a Lancastrian.
This is such a well crafted film. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
What a fab journey... thanks for sharing Liam!
Sweet! Can’t wait to watch this in full later.
Your video-style is great. It's naturally relaxing and helps us to almost feel like we are coming along with you on the walk. Keep it up!
I did the Coast2Coast last may. Such a beautiful walk and definitively a challenge with the ups and downs! Thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to do it, the landscapes and people are amazing and pub food after a full day of walking was incredible!
Thank you Liam, been looking forward to this!!
Thank you for sharing! Enjoyed your journey!
If you ever come over to the US, I'd strongly recommend doing the John Miur Trail in California. It is something like 220 miles from Yosemite National Park to Mt. Whitney in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Probably some of the most beautiful scenery in the entirety of North America.
I am from India, recently had my one of the biggest exams going on in 10th grade (ps: this exam really matters for all indians)
And so i had this dream where someone was walking to a coast with a back pack..it was so beautiful, i had to search it up and on top of my recommendation i found your vid and i am so glad i found your channel it's my dream to one day travel like you just being in touch with nature the city life doesn't suit me..
Hope to one day be like you until then gonna follow your channel
Really enjoyed this thanks for the upload 👍
