Interesting to also state what artifical sand may be used for, which depends on the type of feed rock. This is of great importance as it is not a "one size fits all" product. Great video👍
wonder if they wash the finished sand to see if theres gold or other precious metals in there , think with the volumes they work with there it should be viable to even get small amounts out
they do need water though (might be able to use seawater _
Having worked in such a Granite Quarry for 24 years, one step they didnt show is the Scalps, its a byproduct to get rid of the dirt and dust out of the second phase of production, its a roadbase product which is the dirt/dust and small stone product which is 20mm down to dust, ideal for roadworks. also the water sprays have nothing to do with the separation its merely for dust control, as granite is high in Silica, which can cause Silicosis.Making dust which is what they are calling sand is a part of the production, which can be up to 20% of production, Scalps is around 10 to 15% of production, then you have multiple graded sizes, some are single size, like 5mm, 7mm 10mm, 14mm, 20mm, then you can have blended sizes which is used in the concrete industry, which can be a mix of 5mm/7mm/10mm/14mm and sometimes 20mm, granite has a cubic metre weight measure of approx 1.4 tonnes.
Excellent video.....
What a crasy and complicated way to describe the simple process of crushing and grading rocks....
When do they get the impurities out, like the Gold and silver?
Excellent video
Danke für dieses sehr gut recherchierte und präsentierte Thema!
Ich kenne Sand nur als Naturproduckt.
danke, ich auch
Why didn't they call it Rock Sand, artificial sand sounds like it's made out of man made product and then turned into sand
Most of people on RUclips cannot speak proper English!
Excellent video..... Thank You !
This video will be awesome lord gizmo 😊
wow Amazing Process of Artificial Sand Production
Wow - amazing process of an AI generated comment from an AI channel that doesn't know when to capitalize letters.
I’m glad we have a way of making sand, after all its not as if it can be found laying around in great big heaps anywhere!
I'm guessing you didn't actually watch the video.
@@timb350 of course not, it's about sand .
Mass Production Machine
Interesting. Limestone “sand” is also known as agricultural limestone, and is spread on farm fields after harvest to help regulate pH.
Having worked on crushers years ago there is one thing that comes as part of the process that was not shown here. That substance is simply crusher dust and it tends to accumulate everywhere under the process equipment. Crusher dust is produced when you break the rock down and it has the consistency of talcum powder. It is very abrasive and can get in anywhere where there is a small opening. You have to be diligent in having it removed as it will quite literally eat the entire plant if not taken care of in a timely manner.
Are there uses for crusher dust? Does it have value?
@@theotheleo6830 Actually it does have a use but few use it for that purpose. Crusher dust can be mixed in with soil and it will contribute to better drainage, loosening up the soil for better root penetration and it contributes extra minerals that are beneficial to plant growth. Best of all, most crusher operations will give it to you for free if you haul it away so they do not have to dispose of it.
@@oh8wingman Thx for the info.
think the talcum stuff would be great for the glass industry , my guess is that with enough water you can turn in intoo a slurry maibe even a sort of cement blocks reducing its dustyness
Agreed it feels like Talcum Power in your hand its so fine, use to come off the conveyor rollers in the Screen House
Artificial sand is excellent for backfill on subgrades, when compacted it is like concrete while sand...not so much
Nice share
The sandman at work.
Amazing
Thomas Edison developed early versions of the machinery used in this process. He intended them to be used to make cement.
Most of his inventions were made by his workers
Wow
Waiting for the moment, each pebble get his IP Adress...
That is unbeliveble...

Ball Mills are usually the last step in crushing "materials" into powder.
We only use ball mills for the gold industry.
Proof that we are running out of sand. Now we have to manufacture it.
Or proof that importing sand is too expensive. But the earth will never run out of sand since it's the natural continuous breakdown of rock. Eventually, all of the sand will be replaced, but it may hundreds of years.
wow, food industry machines
Is this in Peru?
Sand is rocks.
Begs the question where did all the real sand came from? 😂
They came from rocks. But where did the rocks come from?
@fredbrandon1645 For real. Just a thought I had while at beach this summer. grains of sand are not round. but have sharp edges. yet they have been rubbing against one another for millenia. why arent they ground down to being a super fine powder?
The term “artificial” just does not apply. Just because something goes through a manufacturing and blending process does not make it artificial. You wouldn’t call sawdust artificial would you?
Artificial also means man made, which refers to the process in this case. This is an important ingredient in manufacturing concrete. Already made sand available from ocean beaches can not be used in concrete because of it salt content and organic materials that would need to be washed out.
What would you call it?
@@spud3607 In some countries it is simply called Rocksand.😊
The correct term for it is " manufactured sand" Comes in different gradients for different applications. Sometimes washed, sometimes unwashed.
What if it is AI generated?
Desert sand is unsuitable because it is round, you need square sand for strength.
😮😮
What can Sahara sand be used for?
I was thinking the same.
'Processed sand' would be a better choice of labeling .
the sand can be added to cement, when building skyscrapers
How much does it cost to amke sand rather than dig up sand?
Watching this video was like watching water boil.
Relative to natural sand, what comprises the “unique properties” of artificial sand? Because it appears to be a granitic soil, does it present higher levels of radon gas?
Radon comes out of soil not rock
@@daveklein2826Radon does indeed come from rock: “Radon is produced from the natural radioactive decay of uranium, which is found in all rocks and soils. Radon can also be found in water. Radon escapes from the ground into the air, where it decays and produces further radioactive particles.” Google is your friend. The trick is whether or not the rocks you are crushing contain Uranium.
Biggest difference is the corrosive natural of the product.
@@daveklein2826 No, radon (colorless, tasteless, odorless radioactive gas) is derived from the decomposition of uranium in the soil and rock. I asked the question because I live in a place where there are no rocks and radon mostly comes from imported crushed rock used as a base for foundations. That said, the quantity of radon emissions is generally mitigated by proper ventilation and continuous testing. However, where that ventilation isn’t present, exposure over time generates significant issues, most notably lung cancer.

What about crushing sandstone?
What about it?
Showing the same video clips over and over.
Not true
@@daveklein2826dk, you are correct brother, have no idea what I was thinking when I made that comment
That method makes the sand crazy expensive. In Brasil we have sand from bottom of many rivers...
But that wouldn't be _"artificial sand",_ would it?
I can only I imagine the noise levels that workers in these factories have to endure.
Around the Cone Crushers the noise level can reach as high as 90 -110dbs
Crushed rock is not sand. Sand is mostly quartz.
I would call it manufactured sand.
Good 😂
I’m surprised the Saudi’s aren’t selling their sand. They got a shit load of it.
Amazing working skill...top Vidio..🇮🇩🚜🛻😍💗🌸👍
Artificial ! LOL !
I hoper they are using recycled non portable water. Ya know, water from the sewer that has been treated and all the solid material has been removed
non potable
@@KenJackson_US right. Water that is not drinkable nor should be used for cleaning
I find it hilarious that a sand "shortage" is the latest worldwide crisis.
You can only dig up rivers and beaches for so long
I hope they are using recycled rocks. Like from old concrete from old buildings and roads.
Not necessary
@@daveklein2826 why isn't it necessary? It would be recycling.
It already gets recycled as road underlayment
What if 🌧️ rain
Why do we need artificial sand when the desert's have billions of tons of sand? ,
It musn't supposed to be called artificial sand....alternative sand would be more appropriate...
Try listening to the video before making stupid comments
Mother Nature has been doing the same process of making sand for billions of years yet, you think it is "artificial"?
I tired of clickbait, watched a whole video to see the machine in the title,,,,,f.y.
Sure sounds like a waste of money, have ever looked at all the Sand Dunes and Deserts in the World. You just have to scoop the sand up and it’s just real sand EASY HUH ?
😂 selling sand to the Arabs!!
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم .
