The F-15 Eagle is one of the most iconic fighter jets of all time too, flying with U.S. colors for more than four decades.This air superiority fighter started servicing in 1976, but today it's still relevant. Although its goal was to suspend the Soviet MiG-25 interceptor, the F-15 proved to be much more than what it originally set out to accomplish. It flew with the F-16 Falcon on its side, as the USAF wanted to give the Eagle a loyal supporter: a fighter jet that was less capable and less expensive than the powerful F-15.
