I toured with Foreigner in 1993 & 1994. I was hired as their fitness trainer, but I also became their Assistant Tour Manager. I rode on the Tour Bus with the band, unlike the crew which had its own bus. Lou was the nicest, humblest, most talented person you could ever hope to meet. Anyone who ever saw him live was blown away by his voice. He could hit every note that you heard on their albums, every time. (Unlike many singers of today who are "helped" electronically.) Lou was an absolute gentleman. The current singer for Foreigner can't hold a candle to Lou. I wrote an article for the November 1994 issue of "Muscle & Fitness" magazine about the challenges of training a rock group while on the road.
You couldn't be more right, Lou was the man, still has an incredible voice. I loved the old foreigner. New foreigner sorry you don't hold a candle to lous foreigner. Saw them twice, Oregon jam in the 80s and again In 1994. What an incredible show he put on.

Lou Gramm is Foreigner. I saw them twice. The last time being when the Foreigner 4 album came out. They were phenomenal. On that night they opened up with "Long long way from home".. They were just on fire, and opening up with that song set the tone for the night! Lou was running and jumping all over the stage the whole concert. One of my most memorable experiences. Thank you Lou.
Foreigner 4 is superb, the best album of their career…I love the opening track Night Life and Waiting For A Girl Like You is my favorite ballad of all time….Like Styx, these impersonator frontmen really bring down the vibe and legacy of these incredible bands!

See I am 35 and was a late comer to finding Foreigner's music. So, I saw the show in 2022. They were good. Now, I'm learning about Lou Gramm and now discovering the original band and their videos from the 1970's. Never knew this. Was born in 1988 and my family growing up listened to country music only. I've discovered so many great 70's and 80's bands in my adulthood. Wish I could go back in time and see so many shows from so many of the bands of that time.
His distinctive voice, runs and inflections are second to none. I’ve been lucky enough to experience my favorite singer and rock band all in the same package.

Lou Graham is one of the best Rock/Soul Voices of our time and although some people can sound close to what he did, Lou is still the voice that made Foriegner popular. Tone-Pitch & Range in his voice was hard to beat! I covered his vocals in several bands and had many compliments from others, he was one of my vocal influences and could never thank him enough for what he indirectly brought to my musical life! “LOU GRAHAM IS THE VOICE”

I think it just speaks volumes for the longevity of the music. I have listened to foreigner for 50 years but I was married and raising a child during a lot of those early years. Sure I wish I would have seen them with the original lineup but I wish I had seen so many other bands also. I drove a bus for a major university and when the kids would tire from all the current filthy lyrics set to music they would listen to 70’s & 80’s classic rock!

Not true. I saw Foreigner last night in Dallas. Believe me, 90% of the people in the audience were the "true" fans, over 45 years old. They realized that this band is basically a cover band. But what other choice is there. PS - the "cover" band actually did a real good job.

I saw foreigner in Melbourne 1988. They like many in the 70's were a true hard rock grass roots band that oozed class. Their songs/look/style/hair/clothes, youth/attitude & just everything about them was perfect in that late 70 era, but like many bands after a decade they do the power ballads, sell out a bit as they age & go for the big cash.
It happened in the early 90s. Lou left, got a replacement singer and popularity dipped. Lou came back and popularity recovered. Difference now is the current line up caters to a different generation, one that may not be familiar with the REAL Foreigner. Its not wrong to say that the current Foreigner is a cover band. Ironically, its a cover band for the REAL Foreigner.
Love Lou. I’ve seen him with Foreigner and first solo tour. Undeniably one of the greatest singers of rock. Today’s “Foreigner” is a great tribute band. Much like today’s Lynyrd Skynyrd.

It happened in the early 90s. Lou left, got a replacement singer and popularity dipped. Lou came back and popularity recovered. Difference now is the current line up caters to a different generation, one that may not be familiar with the REAL Foreigner. Its not wrong to say that the current Foreigner is a cover band. Ironically, its a cover band for the REAL Foreigner.

He is right! I think the current Foreigner product is pathetic (despite being good musicians) because the product is a lie. I know better... and it definitely should not be named or priced like it is.
