RISD grad here. Im gonna comment on your work, if you don’t want to hear constructive criticism then you can skip over. I feel like you have some promising technical skills, but the body is pretty empty conceptually and starts to enter into Pinterest territory (those paper lamps). I would suggest really going to the portfolio reviews, listening to what they say, and constantly push yourself to make work you wouldn’t recognize. Most of these are 2-D (even when they use somewhat non-traditional mediums) and centered around paints. RISD wants to see it all. Glueing textiles to the painting doesn’t count lol. Make a composition with only textiles, paint on top of it, photograph it, leave it outside, cut that up and collage / sew everything together again. RISD is looking for out of the box. While a lot of your paintings are nice, most of them are still in the box. Just because you didn’t get into risd doesn’t mean you won’t be a successful artist (but I’m sure you already know that). Apply elsewhere and keep working at it!!!
Although RISD was the school you wanted, Pratt might be where you need to be to grow most. A waitlisting seems like a sign. You're a great artist, just keep your head up and stay confident in yourself.
hey! i am a current senior at risd. if u r still interested nxt year, u shuld apply as a transfer, a lot of people leave during/after freshman year bc they cnt handle the pressure. i think the reason they didnt accept ur portfolio has a lot to do with the schools shifting identity. they seem to be less interested in traditional drawing skills than they used to be. good luck at pratt!
Sloth Chic ... I don't think she can handle the pressure or critique , She was highly rude and disrespectful to a comment that mentioned detail ... The problem is the comment wasn't even mean ... Yet she popped off .... As if her stuff is flawless ... Like ... No .. She literally acted like lil Tay .
Im not an expert on this seeing as i didnt apply to RISF myself but wouldnt they have more of an emphasis on what the pieces meant rather than technical skill? This is coming from knowledge about AP art portfolio and not college entrance portfolios so im just wondering if it's similar
artstct That’s what I was thinking. I went to school for art. My degree is in visual communications but I submitted a lot of fine art. Back in high school my art was nowhere near this good. 😜
Waitlist doesn't mean they rejected her. That's just her view on it, but this happens a lot to many artists. They simply just have to wait their turn to get in after the people who applied ahead of time go in first. (Correct me if I'm wrong though-!)
Bon Universe it more or so means that the spots for the class is full so if someone is on a waitlist they could get accepted into the school if someone decides not to go to the school anymore
If you're looking for feedback, I think the only reason you got waitlisted is because of concept. Though your art is impeccable from the visual standpoint they may have wanted you to dive deeper when explaining each piece. The artist statement can definitely make or break your work when under such scrutiny. You're so young though so idrk how they can expect so much
Cassie Derickson yep i didnt know how to bs my artist explanations beyond the universe so i wrote really simple straight to the point explanations which after submitting i was like huh maybe i shouldve written more
Cassie Derickson it is completely this. People do less visually stimulating or hard driven meticulous work but their descriptives of what it’s supposed to be is regarded too high often. It’s seen as intellectual when in reality sometimes it’s just a joke it lazy. They always want a commentary, or something poetic, a representation, or a interpretation etc. this is what can influence the audience. We all know true art is defined as the visual components of color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value. Each and every one of these pieces exemplifies this in a way some graduates can’t do work this well. Sad she got passed over. My unwarranted advice, I’d personally definitely go with more dream sequence work. That was reminiscent of dali in a way I’ve never seen and literally made me say wow out loud, maybe incorporating more color and mix media into it. All of the pieces were wonderful but that one in particular showed so much of who you are and what you’re capable of. Regardless, Some of these pieces would sell for big money in a gallery.
You're such an incredible artist and it is shown so well through the variety of styles you display in your artworks. Regardless of whether you've been accepted to a specific school or not, I hope you're really proud of yourself, for your art and passion have already inspired others like me to continue pursuing as much as we can ❤️ I love your videos and I can't wait to watch your future college vids. Wishing you the best of luck and sending bundles of love to you :)
When I read the title of the vid I got kind of sad, because I knew that’s the school you really wanted to go to 😢. But either way, keep going and I really love all your art pieces❤️
Honestly i can't understand why they rejected you/your portfolio because your artstyle is really good and there is a lot of meaning and detail behind your pieces, so guurl keep going, great artists got rejected a couple times, but still kept working and became famous and popular! Love your works!
Jule Brown just wanted to say that risd does not expect good paintings or drawings but the type of artist. Idk she seemed pretty well off to me, and there are some people (a lot) who doesn’t really belong in risd. acceptance is really a grey area and is not as calculated as it seems to be. Another thing that risd likes to see is experimentation and risk taking. But college is pretty subjective (art schools) and u can be just as good of an artist as someone from risd, the title doesnt really get you anything, but a good exploration in the arts and a good portfolio will. The only thing risd has to offer is the lack of sleep and traumatic experiences. Lol dont fret on schools :)
TheSourjoker Wtf....it’s definitely naive to say that having a title from one of the top art schools in the world won’t really do anything for you. I’m a RISD grad and that name has taken me FAR. I do think that the selection process is a grey area (there are people here at RISD who I don’t think belong at all, it’s probably the same deal with most other schools). Just because you didn’t get into RISD doesn’t mean you can’t get into another well respected art school!!! Maybe you can apply again next year and transfer. Lots of options. Just don’t let some fool on RUclips tell you that going to a respectable school with literally millions of international connections in the art and design world doesn’t matter. It’s ALL about who you know. And schools connect you to a lot of people. Smh
Maddie McCollough Sure you can have a title of RISD, but a person with a better portfolio from a community college would definitely replace a person with a title of RISD and a considerably bad portfolio. in the end, its all up to the artist how they work and think. just because you have a title of risd doesn't mean that you are entitled to the world. sure you can sit back and say that connections is all you need, but is actually how the connections see you and your work. RISD does have many connections but so does any other school. Going to RISD does not guarantee your safe and stable life in the future. I can only say that risd will give you the work ethic (from experience) and speaking to staff there including nikki.
TheSourjoker schools dont matter if you're doing stem(sure it's great but an engineer is an engineer wherever you go) if you're doing anything in the arts humanities, school name carrys you very far.
A while back I watched a lot of videos about RISD and from a lot of the people who were accepted to RISD they seems to like unfinished artwork in your portfolio I don't really know why, but they do. Also they like the artist to try different types of mediums oil painting, acrylic, water color, and just plain old pencil sketches. They also like artists to try different art styles to know that you're versatile and if you're not at least they'll know that you're willing to try different styles from your own. Of course include photography and maybe even videos as you did from your first picture.
RISD is more interested in concept over execution. There is a heavier focus on distancing from “convention” or formality than being rooted in some kind of fundamental skill. It’s not so much about mediums or being haphazard on anything, it’s moreso about underlying concept and not so much the finish in the end.
So when it comes to style, “style” doesn’t influence concept or content, it’s merely a visual choice. Visuals are not considered as much as concept is. Conceptual skill is a lot harder than achieving some kind of visual look or aspect and this goes for just art in general. Like one of my RISD drawing professors told me, “it’s better to work smart than hard”.
Well, the good news is in the art industry, you don’t need a art degree and most studios don’t care about what school you go to. What I learned from people who had success in the industry, is have a specific goal in what you want your place to be in industry.
Key word studio not company most studio probably look for people with degrees first then if the cant find one the use one's without a degree more of a last resort to me
these are absolutely gorgeous, do not let this deter you or anything !!!!!! i am genuinely blown away by the thought and beauty in everything you’ve shown
Pratt Institute!!! It's an amazing school. I graduated from there and can honestly say I loved it and they prepared me as best as they could for the real world.
Dude ive watched a bunch of vids like urs on people showing their portfolios and i have to say that urs stood out soosososososooo much to me!! ur work is very beautiful and so contemporary! i really love them and i cant believe this was waitlisted?!?! this is the shit thats able to change the world, i love the statements being made and how you break the boundary between just a regular generic painting and create something new and beyond!!! many ppl ive watched only did stuff that was mainly technique based but youve got wayyyyy more than the technique! dude ur so talented and your work is beautiful and you are beautiful too
First of all your work is so beautiful and so advanced in techniques, it is very impressive! Second: I know it must be difficult for you right now, wondering if you're going to get in or not-trust me, I've been in that situation before. When I was 16 I had my heart set on this one college (uk college is for 16 years+) which turned me down last minute, at that time in my life it was like my world had been turned upside down. I ended up going to a different college which at first I hated. However, that college ended up supporting me a lot more than what the other one would have. For many reasons, I was failing my classes at the start but with their support I got to B's and even an A grade. They even helped direct me towards a university best suited for me. Nearly 3 years later, I'm now at the end of my first year at university and I couldn't be happier! I believe that life has a strange way of working in your favour (one way or another). Even though it can feel like life is not being fair, it may work out for the better. If it weren't for me being rejected by my first choice college, I doubt I would ever be this happy or successful as I am right now. I guess what I'm trying to say is that everything happens for a reason, so whatever happens, happens. Sometimes one door has to close for another to open. Please just believe that everything will be okay
Although im not an art grad and dont take any art courses I genuinely believe the risd mainly accept students that have room for improvement (hence the unfinished artworks and less technical pieces) your paintings are so perfect that risd have nothing more to teach you
DON'T feel like you got rejected-- keep hope up! I was waitlisted into RISD too and I'm graduating next week from here. I even called admissions and ask how low on the waitlist I was...and it wasn't even high on the list. I had no hope either... but then the acceptance letter came in. RISD can be incredibly fickle with admissions.. I know people with really amazing stuff that were also waitlisted who do wonderful here.
Only a few things to say as to what could have helped you get in. Idk I've never been to art college yet but seeing as I am an artist looking to apply In the future and have been watching portfolio videos this is just my thoughts. 1. Your artwork was good but you needed to explain it better the drawing its self definitely shows there is a big idea behind most of your works but you fail to explain that big idea 2. Your Risd project prompt word assignments were very basic, I really feel like you had the potential to do more with them but you didn't. The paint in cups seemed really simplistic with little meaning. If it was a photography photo it would have been good but it wasn't the focus at least to me was the paints and subject matter and it lacked in that area. Well, the plastic faces one didn't convey the meaning of threshold well enough to me and personally, I would have liked to see a little more going on with it. 3. You did a lot of creative pieces but not enough ”studies.” I would have tried to find a way to do studies and still made them creative. That would have shown you can do creative technical work. Examples I can think of would be a still life of unique objects ones that people would never consider drawing for a still life, a still life of objects that all go together to tell a story, a self-portrait with some kind of warped twist, or a study but with a warped colorful background. Idk just something along those lines or even just studies in a more traditional sense. And finally 4. Your work was really good but there wasn't a lot of it I've seen a lot of portfolio videos and I found myself by the end of your going ”that’s it?” like either you presented them really quickly and there were more than I thought or you didn't have enough and would have liked to see one or two more artwork from you I am a firm believer in quality over quantity but this is just one on of those cases where I feel like quality has to be really exceptional to justify having fewer pieces. But take this all with a grain of salt seeing as I've yet to apply to colleges
i got rejected from risd and seeing your work being waitlisted i feel like i stood no chance! you’re outstanding! i wish you the best of luck at pratt.
Read the description box for my scores and stuff!!!!❤️❤️❤️ also edit: i doubt i can get off the risd waitlist as their whole class of 2022 is currently filled and if they do itll be summer when they notify me but thats a super low chance too.
Quick question: did you do a comparative study on your AP art class? Because in my AP class, we barely even do artwork because only ever write that stupid comparative study.
Hey! I was on the priority waitlist as well and was then rejected from RISD for the same reasons. I got into Pratt too but I can go because it’s not affordable for me :( I love your art though, and Pratt’s a really good school. Good luck!
cup of jasmien Heya! Your portfolio is absolutely stunning ✨ you mentioned in the description box that the SATs are not important?! I’m worried that I won’t even be able to have my portfolio looked at due to my -most likely- terrible score. Aka around 1100 :(
wow holy shit your pieces are amazing, not only are they creative af but they’re so unique and really well made!! also you’re such a cutie so RISD is definitely missing out on you and your talent.
Encouragement is important and what needs. It is also not art school. Art school is about tearing you up and going deeper. Very technically competent, you can probably find good work as a commercial artist without art school. Gift cards, wrapping papers. Or definitely video games! I am not getting from your portfolio shown here that you are interested in textiles. I don't see any curiosity or expression towards textile. I think you would find textile boring.
You're art is very good, youre a very good illustrator, but these days all schools look for meaning and concept behind the art, your art is realllyy good but very cliche, i think thats why you were waitlisted. You can always try to transfer in second year :)
Keep your head up queen, your crown is slipping :) you’re an AMAZINGLY talented artist, and RISD must be so competitive to waitlist you. Trust in what you attract, everything will be as it’s meant to be.
Hello, I hope I’m not too late, I studied illustration at RISD and I happened to have a work study at ResLife where I got a lot of insider info. RISD accepts a lot of waitlisted students and our waitlist is really not that long either. Your chances of getting in are still pretty good if you’re considering trying. I can also give you some input in your portfolio if you want to know where you’re lacking. RISD has also been getting more and more applications every year and we’ve been having a lot of trouble getting rooms for freshmen so if you do get in, don’t think that everyone that got in with regular decisión is better than you, I know a few people that thought they weren’t good because they got waitlisted when from my perspective they were on the same skill level as everyone else. If you do end up going to PRATT, it is still a great school and you can always apply for a transfer to RISD spring semester.
She's got the technical skills DLM to be accepted, but she wasnt creative with her work, its generic and often what I see at least around. Although, this is why people go to art college, to learn and gain skills and improve on the parts they lack. There are other great places for get to study, RISD is one and she would definitely come out a successful artist. but she can still be one by going to other great institutes.
Abrar lol this is definitely not generic, I’ve seen people get into Risd with the most basic portfolios. Stop acting like you know the admissions process because this is definitely not generic and she has got amazing skills and concepts behind her pieces.
your portfolio is so interesting and every piece is amazing, and idk why they would’ve waitlisted you when some of the people on here got accepted and their portfolios were no where near as great, love this!
I’ve never seen your videos before but you’re so lovely and your art is so unique!! Like another comment said you don’t try to do the “trendy art tumblr” that most people try to do nowadays. Some pieces look so different but it looks like you have a specific style.
Your artwork is meant to be in a museum for real. Artists like you are the reason I had interest in art. Really really cool art work 💕👌🏻 (Sorry for bad english)
You are one of my favorite artist ever. You bring so much originality and uniqueness to your works. I’m really sorry about risd, but hey you still have a chance after they go through waitlist. You will have an amazing career in art wherever you go though. -:)
I cant make sense of the fact that you were rejected. Im honestly so confused like HOW....? you are super talented and i can see you going very far with your art! Keep it up i wish you the best :D
I’ve been watching a lot of rejected portfolio videos and usually I can tell why they didn’t get accepted but I have absolutely no idea why they rejected you! You have realism, figure drawings, and real life observations! You also are very creative as well
i wish you the best of luck in getting in! if not, you’re too good for them anyway!! you’re insanely talented so don’t doubt yourself or your abilities bcuz of it. may whatever academic path you choose fulfill you and your goals. 💛
ok ok your voice is actually so precious and cute omg. you’re aesthetic is super unique and and it’s super cute! it suits you a lot! your art. you are so god damn talented oh my gosh!! don’t let people say shit about you alright you are your own person and you should be your own light to your life 💕💕
I am graduating from art school this year, so if you are interested I could share my observations regarding your works. First of all, your technical skills are great, which in itself means a lot of potential, also you seem confident talking about your work which is also very positive in my eyes. However, once you have to be special even in a group of people who have the same technical skills and same amount of talent, you simply can't let yourself falling into chlicées, you have to be more brave and take a bigger risk. It is unfortunate to use certain shapes and form in your pictures for example birds&cage, butterflies, hands (as central object), flowers, raw meat etc. They mostly will make visual communication harder since the viewer will indentify them as classic quitch. You should always be 100% sure what you want to communicate with your pictures, and be very clean about it, because "I thought it might look cool" is probably less professional even if it shows your skills. By this of course I don't mean that everything should come with a deep meaning - hell no. But everything should be created aknowledging the concept, reasons of creating, and the circumstances within the picture could exist. Also lately experimenting with crossing lines between mediums became a huce focus for the global art scene, and professionals tend to give less attention to simple methods such as illustrative paintings. You don't have to do as they wish, you don't need to go full extra, but experimentig and being way more brave could easly get you in next year with the talent and skills you already have. Good luck on your journey!
JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE ON THE WAIT LIST DO NOT GIVE UP!! You’re an amazing artist so you shouldn’t be down because you are in the list! I know how hard it is to be considered but don’t give up!!
When one door is closed, another door will open. Don't be discouraged, many of the worlds greatest artists were rejected at one time or another. It is a testament to greatness for someone to be able to overcome obstacles. There is a place for your talent and spirit in the world, just keep on making beautiful things.
Just wanted to say (before I watch the video) that art can be subjective and we all have different tastes, styles, Aesthetiques so I hope you are not discouraged! Super appreciate this video because it shows the real side of art. I, myself, an art gallery manager change my mind all the time. Just keep going Jasmein! Supporting you here.
for the average person (like me) these pieces are nearly perfect lmao it really makes me wonder who are the ppl that were actually accepted 😭😭 ( also realised that I have no talent but it's OK lmao)
I’m really sorry I think your paintings are probably the best I’ve seen but please don’t be discouraged: college’s decision reflect but a small fraction of what you are as an artist; just because you’re rejected doesn’t mean you as an artist gets rejected. Most of the time it’s something that, not JUST art, you don’t show enough, and maybe it’s something trivial, or at least seem trivial, that the college may think of you as not the best fit. Just keep doing what you love and your truest time will come by!
All your works are so beautifully detailed! I loved that piece at the sushi bar! The way you blend colors just makes your works pop! Even the ones which are more monochrome have nice depth to them :) That piece at 3:51 especially caught my eyes XD Did you use VIXX's Voodoo Doll for inspiration?
im an aspiring artist and i’ve watched your videos and you definitely have helped me grow and learn and make pieces of art that mean a lot to me today. you are so unique and incredibly talented. no matter what happens just know that at the end you’ll end up on top. you inspire me so much💞
Your arts are absolutely breath taking , I honestly don't understand why you didnt get accepted, maybe you just need to work a bit more on explaining them (if you get graded on that)but nevertheless you are incredibly talented.
Damn your portfolio is amazing! Although the prospects of you getting in may seem low, there's still a chance. Even then, if RISD don't take you Pratt must be your destined school. Keep making such beautiful!😁💗💕
Your art is amazing! Very surreal!!! In Ireland they give prompts for our portfolios too but they want to see sketchbook work for your thought process because they value your ability to generate ideas rather than artistic skills as art basically is being able to communicate visually so less words more exploration through images in notebooks!! Ikd if its the same there though all in all your art is amazing!! keep doing what you love girl and don't get disheartened the art world is brutal!!
Comparing to other art portfolio videos I’ve seen, you come of a bit... cocky.. dismissive? The reason I say this is because I don’t really get reflective constructive self criticism from u, which is fine considering if u think everything u did the best u could do. I found that This video wasn’t really educational, but more of a platform to showcase ur, what u felt was underrated work. There’s nothing wrong with being proud of ur work. I just wished u talked about the process and journey more, regardless whether u did encounter any struggles. And maybe take a dig at why Risd rejected u, even tho they didnt rlly specify. I guess i was looking for ur ‘what I would have done differently’. The video now only acts as a substance for others to compare their work to, and we all know that’s not how art functions. I hope u don’t take this the wrong way. I’m just trying to insinuate that this video could have been more helpful to others interested in art schools. If this was just something u wanted to showcase ur art, my bad my misunderstanding. Regardless I still enjoyed viewing ur art pieces, and without a doubt agree with the many people commenting about ur talent. i hope u have a good time at uni :) P.s: I really didn’t wanna name other RUclipsrs, but cat creature’s video is a really good example. I’m pretty sure you’ve seen it (mayb u haven’t oops) but yea I got a lot of useful tips from her video. I’d love to get amazing tips from u too!! P.p.s: watching ur first video I have a clearer idea of where ur coming from. U kind of remind me of when I applied into a dream school that i thought my future heavily dependent on. I was toooo confident. Long story short I didn’t get in. Think of it as a hamartia I guess
Carrie wen yes! I have also watched many portfolio videos. In the end of the video, i said i was going to be making a longer video for my accepted portfolio video for the other schools i got into, where i would talk more about my pieces and the application process haha. I made this video for fun cuz my boyfriend that got into risd told me to do it but im gonna make an actual video soon on everything HAHA
@fries2411 she doesn't owe you any educational video and she never claimed it was. there are plenty of educational videos out there about how people got accepted to Risd. your comment sounded way more dismissive than this entire video. "HAHA" to you too.
@fries2411 I can't believe you are serious. Are you serious? A troll? For the record, my ability to fact check is fine. She already made a video called "Art Portfolio (Accepted at Pratt, Parsons, MICA, SAIC, Art Center) + APPLICATION TIPS" months ago. You still sound entitled and rude. Stop projecting your own ineptitude onto other people. I hope your life gets better so you don't have to stay this bitter. Otherwise, thank you for a good laugh!
Well the answer is in the title , she doesn't specify anything so maybe the purpose was indeed, to showcase her portfolio that didn't go through, that's all. That is just my opinion but you got a point too that would have been a better video if she took the time to explain why this portfolio got rejected 😊(sorry my English isn't that good)
I don't know if there's an interview for this school but if you had to talk about your portfolio in front of a jury and stuff you tend to diminish it which is very bad in this situation, like through a video all the "blah blah whatever" when talking about your concept :( believe in what you made yo!
someone you might know talking about it in an interview is alot different to how someone would talk about it in a quick video. If there was an interview she obviously would of gone into a lot more depth with everything as you have to.
i said blah blah blah cuz im doin an actual accepted video and i justr made this one for fun but there was a paragraph of words in place of the blah blah blah LOL
WTF?? How could they be looking for anyone better than you?? Your art is amazing and I hope I can be as wonderfully talented as you are one day!! Also, I know you have a lisp but your voice is adorable!! I could listen to you all day haha
I think you should consider selling some of your art if you don’t already.... they’re SOOOO beautiful
SimplyFreshdew Yeah like maybe on a Mercari or something, her art is amazing. 😀
Yesss
SimplyFreshdew .
SimplyFreshdew right

When I read the title of the vid I got kind of sad, because I knew that’s the school you really wanted to go to 😢. But either way, keep going and I really love all your art pieces❤️
nice profile photo 💕
Jule Brown Yea Hitler got rejected from art school.
Smh
Maddie McCollough
Sure you can have a title of RISD, but a person with a better portfolio from a community college would definitely replace a person with a title of RISD and a considerably bad portfolio. in the end, its all up to the artist how they work and think. just because you have a title of risd doesn't mean that you are entitled to the world. sure you can sit back and say that connections is all you need, but is actually how the connections see you and your work.
I love this art. It's so cool how you are well versed in many different mediums of art instead of limiting yourself. I think that's true artistry.
Badlulu Saddad i tried so many diff types of art HAHAHAAH
I'm so confused, your portfolio is absolutely brilliant, the-
Well, the good news is in the art industry, you don’t need a art degree and most studios don’t care about what school you go to. What I learned from people who had success in the industry, is have a specific goal in what you want your place to be in industry.
I think it's more important to look inward. However, likely not as lucrative.
Key word studio not company most studio probably look for people with degrees first then if the cant find one the use one's without a degree more of a last resort to me
So for instance two person want the same position in a job one with a degree and one without who do you think is gonna get offer the job first hmm
Wonder what would happen if it was a guy with a funny moustache that they rejected
A hitlarious situation
PSA: not every Asian descended woman is a likeness of lil Tay. Please focus on her amazing art.
thank you
she looks nothing like her... like what
Lil tay is like 8 years old what are you on about.
lil tay was only used by her "authorities" anyway
.... Didnt even know lil Tay was Asian.... But thx for the unrelated info
these are absolutely gorgeous, do not let this deter you or anything !!!!!! i am genuinely blown away by the thought and beauty in everything you’ve shown
Pratt Institute!!!
1. Your artwork was good but you needed to explain it better the drawing its self definitely shows there is a big idea behind most of your works but you fail to explain that big idea
And finally
But take this all with a grain of salt seeing as I've yet to apply to colleges
i got rejected from risd and seeing your work being waitlisted i feel like i stood no chance! you’re outstanding! i wish you the best of luck at pratt.
thank you! im positive you will go far in your artistic journey too!
You know the greatest artists are most often misunderstood. Your art is very distinctive, I really like it
Read the description box for my scores and stuff!!!!❤️❤️❤️ also edit: i doubt i can get off the risd waitlist as their whole class of 2022 is currently filled and if they do itll be summer when they notify me but thats a super low chance too.
cup of jasmien i really like your makeup omg? and the way you talk it's so cute honestly ;^;
Quick question: did you do a comparative study on your AP art class? Because in my AP class, we barely even do artwork because only ever write that stupid comparative study.
Risd is overrated. You deserve better 💓
Aka around 1100 :(
RISD ARE FOOOOOOLS
It's called sour grapes
youre crazy talented whattttt
Okay so I’ve legit seen so many RSID Portfolio videos, and this is actually one of the best. I’m really not sure why you didn’t get in
Ponyo 😪
I was just accepted last week!😩
I saw this video while doing my Portfolio and I was convinced I wouldn’t get in because your art is AMAZING😔
girl this portfolio is amazing. even though risd was your dream school pratt will definitely cling onto you when go. you’ll love it there, ily ❤️
wow holy shit your pieces are amazing, not only are they creative af but they’re so unique and really well made!! also you’re such a cutie so RISD is definitely missing out on you and your talent.
randall vontin ok Randall, I said that because compared to the other portfolio videos I watched, hers had by far the most creative pieces.
your portfolio is so strong omg im so scared now
I'm scared tooo :|
@@hhmm1047 update me if you get inn omg I’m sure you’ll do great
Dang girl! You are majorly talented! They made a mistake not accepting your portfolio but it's okay. You've got bigger and better things ahead!
Awwwh it’s ok I tried out for my dream art school and got waitlisted as well :(
I can't fathom why you didn't get in this was suppper strong!!!
If you do end up going to PRATT, it is still a great school and you can always apply for a transfer to RISD spring semester.
thank you! would love some input on my portfolio.
I didn’t see it as very generic tbh
interesting interesting
Abrar lol this is definitely not generic, I’ve seen people get into Risd with the most basic portfolios. Stop acting like you know the admissions process because this is definitely not generic and she has got amazing skills and concepts behind her pieces.
cup of jasmien you're honestly amazing at your work
Generic how
your portfolio is so interesting and every piece is amazing, and idk why they would’ve waitlisted you when some of the people on here got accepted and their portfolios were no where near as great, love this!
Really really cool art work 💕👌🏻 (Sorry for bad english)
i’ve been meaning to film my art portfolio but haven’t got around to it, i’m going to parsons!!
girlll
You are one of my favorite artist ever. You bring so much originality and uniqueness to your works. I’m really sorry about risd, but hey you still have a chance after they go through waitlist. You will have an amazing career in art wherever you go though. -:)
Your art is so good, im sorry you got waitlisted :(
Also your lisp has to be the sweetest thing ever!
I cant make sense of the fact that you were rejected. Im honestly so confused like HOW....? you are super talented and i can see you going very far with your art! Keep it up i wish you the best :D
I just can't with how asolutely bEAUTIFUL YOUR ART IS
I have such fucked up dreams every night.. I should write them down for when I don't know what to draw.. I love your style it's so... Eerie
Bloody Crowley・King Of Hell ~Kiriko~ yes! Dreams are awesome
ive been trying to do that lately but now my dreams are just about me stressing about senior year and my art portfolio 😂
I know how hard it is to be considered but don’t give up!!
your art is.. dare I say.. beautiful
When one door is closed, another door will open.
Don't be discouraged, many of the worlds greatest artists were rejected at one time or another. It is a testament to greatness for someone to be able to overcome obstacles. There is a place for your talent and spirit in the world, just keep on making beautiful things.
You are great as an artist Jasmine! I’ll say this before I watch the whole video and see your artworks cause I know you are! ✨
Waitlisted isn’t rejection, it may just mean their cutoff isn’t gone.
Thanks!
Your makeup looks so cute in this video!
your work is amazing!! some places don't know what they're missing. keep doing what you're doing
Dude I looooooove your art! I'm happy this came up in my recommended!!! It's all so beautiful, I adore your mind
you're super talented in my opinion no one piece can be better than the other art is subjective i think your work is amazing !!!
I'm also fail at art school, should I join the political instead ?
Wow I love your art style!! Such a gorgeous melding of realism and surrealism
Ok if you didn’t get in then I don’t see how there’s anyway I’m gonna get in 😭 your portfolio is amazing
This is absolutely genius!! Omg it’s so beautiful, diverse and creative, it really blew my mind
Your art is just amazing. Such unique pieces. :’)
You know the “switched roles” one is sooooooo goooood❤
for the average person (like me) these pieces are nearly perfect lmao it really makes me wonder who are the ppl that were actually accepted 😭😭 ( also realised that I have no talent but it's OK lmao)
your artwork is extremely beautiful, i can tell you're very creative and i'm sure you're gonna go far!
ps.: you are gorgeous
Are you Austrian?
ur videos are so calming to watch,I could watch ur videos for hours😌
i really hope you get in! ❤️❤️
THAT FISH EATING HUMAN SUSHI IS THE MOST INCREDIBLE THING EVER I WANT A PRINTTTTTT
No idea why they rejected it... You are such a good and creative artist xx
YEP
im an aspiring artist and i’ve watched your videos and you definitely have helped me grow and learn and make pieces of art that mean a lot to me today. you are so unique and incredibly talented. no matter what happens just know that at the end you’ll end up on top. you inspire me so much💞
Your lisp is the cutest little thing :(
mimi mi right ?? I have lisp and to me I feel like it makes a weirdo but her it’s cute
I wish I could lie like you.
Black White why ? I think it’s adorable just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean other people think like you
Black White ah yes, whoever has a different opinion than me is automatically wrong, because my opinion is fact xd
i love the surrealism in your pictures! genius!!
Your arts are absolutely breath taking , I honestly don't understand why you didnt get accepted, maybe you just need to work a bit more on explaining them (if you get graded on that)but nevertheless you are incredibly talented.
Wow your ideas and your abilities are so amazing, I couldn’t imagine me coming half as good ideas and actually making them
Damn your portfolio is amazing!
Ikd if its the same there though all in all your art is amazing!! keep doing what you love girl and don't get disheartened the art world is brutal!!
i think american based art schools really like explanations HAHA
Art school rejected you ? Don’t move to Munich please.
AMAZING ART! It's like you don't even need to go to school lol you're already a pro ❤
when will you conquer europe?
I think I’ve said this before but your lisp is the cutest fucking thing ever
Regardless I still enjoyed viewing ur art pieces, and without a doubt agree with the many people commenting about ur talent. i hope u have a good time at uni :)
P.s: I really didn’t wanna name other RUclipsrs, but cat creature’s video is a really good example.
I made this video for fun cuz my boyfriend that got into risd told me to do it but im gonna make an actual video soon on everything HAHA
oof
That is just my opinion but you got a point too that would have been a better video if she took the time to explain why this portfolio got rejected 😊(sorry my English isn't that good)
Not only are your paintings good but profound in meaning. Keep going !!
Let's go start a riot at RISD
I love "mirror mirror on the wall" and "Caged". Also the petri dishes on the assignment and concept is great.
These are amazing now I want to make art😂💖✨
You’re so talented please don’t give up!!
Breh where are the Austrian corporal comments
Omg! Loved the human sushi painting! 😍😍😍
Your voice distracts me😂 but the art was majestic. Very talented.
Woooow. I’m shook, your art is amazing. RISD IS INSAAANE FOR NOT ACCEPTING YOU. Never give up on art. ❤️❤️
