    I love the golf metaphor - I don't have to try. I set the conditions and it's up to my body. It's such a relief to realize this

    Phenomenal interview! So many helpful insights and just what I needed to hear right now. Thank you ladies ...you have both been so impactful in my recovery and many others. The echo! I just had the first almost sleepless night in a while a few months into my recovery but it was way more peaceful than the ones in the past. I was left sort of bewildered. So grateful for all of your shared experiences and knowledge. Thank you! 🩷 Reminding myself to take the the time pressure off. Excited for the next talk!

    I remember finding you 3 years ago when I was going through a rough insomnia episodes all because of taking antibiotics it was new to me since I was always good with sleep I tried everything on the book and nothing helped until I found your videos and made me understand sleep is not important and some how you will be able to sleep and I threw away all the stuff I got to sleep and stop trying and I beat insomnia but once again I had to take antibiotics and insomnia got me again but I still get fear even though I know how to overcome it can’t wait to get over it and be the normal me again and your videos are so encouraging ❤

      Totally get that 🫂 Being in a situation that resembles how our insomnia started probably won't go completely unnoticed by our safety seeking brain, and that's normal. At least some amount of curiosity/hyperarousal was meant to show up. You can get through this 💪❤

    I stopped thinking about sleep for so long. But now someone talked to me about their struggle and now I think about how horrible it is to not sleep again. Do you have any suggestions?

    So ive been having insomnia for more than 3 months now, been getting speed bump for the past 3 days when i felt like everything got a little better, my biggest problem used to be hyper arousal, but over the time i feeo like i might developed sleep anxiety, whenever it's time to go to bed, i can't stop thinking about sleep, whether I'm gonna be able to sleep or not, i thought I've accepted everything a long time ago, but deep down i actually still have the fear, and still feel anxious about not gettting any sleep 😭😭,now i can feel sleepy, my brain always wakes me up whenever i start drifting.. why is it so hard to get out of this 😭

      You're not alone - I am going through the same. Sleep anxiety also. "Maybe I'll sleep, maybe I won't" is easy to say, harder to believe. You'll get there though - as I will too.

    I have another doubt, which could be from someone else too.
    What to do when I lie in bed? Should I pay attention to something? just relax? What if my brain pays attention, hyperaware?
    Won't everything I do become an effort? How to do nothing and not think about doing anything?

  • @mestayno
    @mestayno Месяц назад

    I got a question: I understand it more and more that there is nothing at all that I can do ti initiate sleep. But I still sleep little, or I'm keep having speed bumps, and the though of not being able to do anything kind of frightens me. But what really is a problem, that to put it simply: I hate being awake... I hate it, and I don't want to do anything in the middle of the night. I feel like I did everything I wanted during the day, and there's just nothing I want to do in the middle of the night... What's the right attitude to have in this situation?

    • @FearlessSleep
      @FearlessSleep  Месяц назад +1

      It's okay to not like being awake at night, we don't have to love sleepless nights. I hated them too. But it helps to accept the nights when that wakefulness does happen, even if we wish it didn't. Resisting the reality that we are awake on a certain night creates more frustration and pressure leading to more wakefulness. So after admitting to ourselves that we don't like this, but also accepting that we are are experiencing this at the moment, what's our next best alternative to spending that time?
      In other words, we're playing the cards we've been dealt. I find that sort of stoic mindset helps us navigate such nights, make better decisions and show ourselves that we are stronger than our fear of those nights.

      @@FearlessSleep Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me! So it boils down again to acceptance.. I'll try, but it's so hard. At least some nights it's harder.

    Hi coach Michelle and coach Alina
    Michelle herself commented that she did not suffer so much in her recovery process.
    In your opinion, how can a person with greater anxiety, perhaps due to OCD, not suffer during a long process?

    • @FearlessSleep
      @FearlessSleep  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Jonas, Suffering is present in every insomnia story. Of course, our suffering always feels more intense than other's - because it's the only one we can feel directly! It's very common for people to have OCD patterns during insomnia recovery. In fact, folks from ODC recovery RUclips channel refer to insomnia (as I speak of it here) as Sleep OCD. It's no doubt challenging, but I think it can make things a bit easier when we stay kind and compassionate to ourselves throughout this process

    • @michelleweil6672
      @michelleweil6672 2 месяца назад +1

      Hi! Not sure where this perception came from, but I too had very high levels of anxiety throughout my insomnia. This is very common. Recovery isn't easy for anyone & I agree with Coach Alina, suffering is present in every insomnia story. Over time, as we build our ability to be with the discomfort and challenges arising, we do suffer much less. All my best!

    Although I am mostly recovered from anxiety, insomnia and some depression i am still bothered by the emotional flatening. I was thinking that it is maybe just a little depression left.
